It's here by (surprisingly) popular demand! I hope all of you enjoy and that you share this with your biology teacher or whatever would be closest to that for you I guess
It's funny that Kenichi Tokoi composed themes for shark and squid guardians in Sonic Frontiers and then he's tasked to make a theme for shark and squid bosses again.
@@heetman4785 so I could be wrong on some of these but I think Wong tou’s theme sounds like it’s got a bit of an erhu in it, yamai’s theme has what i think is a shamisen in the intro and in parts thought it and the guitar in Dwight’s theme is to me is giving Spanish guitar/flamenco guitar idk if it is one specifically but i think that’s what it’s trying to evoke anyways
I never thought I’d love a LaD Final Boss theme more than A Scattered Moment… until I heard The End of Denial. I can’t explain it, but it feels like the PERFECT encapsulation of Kiryu’s journey, from the 80s synth, to the Yakuza 1 menu guitar, to the Song of Life guitar also being used. It’s genuinely PERFECT.
THE MONTAGE ON THE STARTUP OF THE END OF DENIAL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA PEAK PEAK PEAK THANK YOU!!! Daymare, Impregnable triangle, the four, reminiscent mood and the end of denial are my top personal favorites
Same! Probably has the be the most DRAMATIC final boss theme in the series. And that's saying something when you consider For Whose Sake from Kiwami 1, A Scattered Moment from Kiwami 2 (Which End Of Denial kinda sounds like) and Fly (Final Boss Version) from 3.
Keitaro Hanada is unstoppable ever since Lost Judgment had him on board. His work on the Yamai-related tracks are definitely a part of what makes the character so fantastic. Slugfest, Wicked Way and especially Kooky are all insanely good and stand out for me despite the insane quality of the soundtrack as a whole. Also unsurprising but good choice on the Reminiscent Mood part, we could all learn something from Shinada's passion!
Say what you will about the final villain, but End of Denial just hits hard. When those synths hit is just chef's kiss. It feels like something out of the Black Rain ost. Just needed some sax in there to be perfect 80's neo-nior.
This game is one of those games that you truly appreciate for everything it has to offer, the music, the characters , the story, side quests and mini games. It’s a golden experience
Cleanest transition from Brutality to Brutality -Rebuild- I have ever heard. Also some heatmoves and Poundmats have banger OST too. And changing tone from IMA SUINI YUKIMASU to Sad Mechanism is like making Tetris OST and gave it Undertale treatment. 10/10
For a theme we only ever hear once Defiant Charm immediately grabbed my attention and never let go, absolutely magical. 11:20 cow jumpscare Lotta boss bangers in this one but holy shit the first time I heard the orchestral break in Brutality Rebuild I think I almost exploded
Keitaro Hanada wasn't really on my radar before these last couple games, but hot damn has he come out the gate SWINGING between Gaiden and LAD8. Many of my favorite songs from this OST are his work. New GOAT
Chihiro Aoki has quickly become my favourite composer of this series, but it’s nice to see some new people coming out with absolute bangers too. I can’t remember if keitaro Hanada was mentioned in previous vids but his work is also pretty good. 83Key is great as always with their electronic/dubstep vibes, Barracuda is easily my favourite track
I know that it's not a new track, but when I got jumpscared by Funk Goes On ('05) I was so beyond elated. Street fights in Kamurocho were a borderline drug.
Perfect Encirclement and Bodybag are the 2 non boss themes that I fucking adore. I love bodybag so much and I love how it's not a one and done track since you hear it for every crowned enemy
Ryo Fukuda is one of my favorite new composers. His work in Gaiden and IW both are SO GOOD. And from what i could find on the internet with his name, hes a very new composer aswell. Which makes me even happier that RGG is giving someone so new the monumental task of making a Receive You remix.
The OST of this game is out of this world ! I've listened to the leaks (OST from the demo) before the game launched, and I was hooked. Now, with the context, I'm having even more fun listening to it They have musical geniuses in the studio
I'm glad more people appreciate IW's soundtrack. It's been one of my favorites and the one i have the most tracks downloaded from since 4. Aoki popped off with this OST, End of Denial especially. I think they cook when they have calmer, more somber music for bosses. I was so happy to hear more violins and other string instruments too.
the entire video is incredible as always but the final edit of kiryu's past and present alongside end of denial is absolutely perfect, i may have shed a small tear thank you snowy angry man
How could people not like this OST? It's definitely one of the ABSOLUTE BEST OF ALL TIME!!! I FUCKING LOVE THIS SOUNDTRACK WITH ALL MY HEART!!! I love this video too and I'm glad you share the same way I do with replaying these tracks over and over again
They cooked to hard. Waikiki Down Beat is probably one of my most favorite battle tracks now, i find excuses to random battle just to hear it lmao. I wish it played in the dungeons lol
as far as music goes, the end of denial is definitely my favorite final boss track. of course if you add all of the other things like the background or subtle things in cutscenes that contribute to the story then Gaiden's final boss wins, but as for pure music this is great. I'm also sad that the credits track wasn't mentioned. Wounds is just heartwrenching. When I finished the game (like a week ago) i sat there stunned through the credits and the track just was here to help you let all of the developments sink in.
I was listening to the official OST playlist, but this is better. Here I can see where which song was used in the game too. And the edits are just clean~
The End of Denial and Brutality Rebirth are my favourite parts of the soundtrack. They amp me up so much when I hear them, I get the same energy listening to them as I get when listening to "Dig in Your Heels" or "Unwavering Belief".
Once again, RGG Studios floods my already disorganized singular Spotify playlist with atleast two hours worth of songs. Good stuff, for both them and for this video, Snowy. Still though, I'm just a little upset ZENTA isn't anywhere to be seen on Eight's OST. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough but I can't find his name on any of the credits. Combine that with his singular (but still insanely good) contribution to Gaiden, and I'm wondering where he went off to. Maybe he's busy on some other project for me to destroy my speakers to.
ZENTA sadly didn’t do anything for Infinite Wealth, but from what I gather from his socials I think it’s because he’s been doing a lot more work as a producer. So good for him getting more work outside of SEGA stuff, but bad for us because he’s really good and I miss him :( haha
that little edit you did at the beginning of Receive and Believe You….hoooboy 👍 also the Mysterious Forest clip 💀 I was scared of stepping on those mines, then it finally happened when Tomi got in the way. ended up blowing up one and landing on another
Last year my most played artist was SEGA bc of this series and I thought “ok I gotta listen to normal things next year” But oops I still can’t stop playing this soundtrack over and over
The Four has to be up there as one of my favourite themes in Yakuza history. I legit felt emotional hearing it. Also, does anyone else notice something when listening to Never Look Back? That's Tetsuya Naito's theme "Stardust" from New Japan Pro Wrestling (ironically, he showed up in Yakuza 6)
Damn. At this point your Composer Appreciation series are your premiere feature length videos, I can really see the passion on each edit. Kudos to you, Mr. FunniestAngeman
Honestly I found myself enjoying a majority of the songs. Most I won’t go back to listen to unless I feel it, but some of the songs in this soundtrack are some of the best in the entire series. Oh and glad someone gave some attention to Dishwasher Blues. Truly a vocal track in the series.
finally someone to appreciate all my GOATS thank you, i got 50 tracks from this game downloaded the day it came out it so fucking peak i love it so much
This soundtrack exceeded my expectations. The tone of The End of Denial with it not being as electronic as the rest of the OST is pure. Showing how this is Kiryu's fight, and how it has a lot of more instrumental melodies reminiscent of all of Kiryu's fights of his past, and how it is THE end of denial. The Yakuza is over. It's time to become like a dragon. Plus Twin Machetes guitar riff is pure brain melt magic.
If you told me that Japanese Eric Andre would be fighting literally Danny Trejo in Hawaii in a Yakuza game, I woulda called bullshit. Yet here we are and man if Twin Machetes ain't baller as fuck
It's here by (surprisingly) popular demand! I hope all of you enjoy and that you share this with your biology teacher or whatever would be closest to that for you I guess
Thank you our glorious king for this amazing video on this amazing OST
Whats so good about the music is that Kazuhira Nakaya learnt how to say "BREAKING ZA LAWW" instead of "BAKIN ZA LOWWW". 10/10
*BAKING ZA LOAFF
*BAKING ZA WAAARLD
It's funny that Kenichi Tokoi composed themes for shark and squid guardians in Sonic Frontiers and then he's tasked to make a theme for shark and squid bosses again.
damn I didn't know that, thanks for the info! As both a sonic and yakuza fan it's always awesome to know such details!
That explains why it sounded frontiers like
Chihiro Aoki is TOO POWERFUL for this franchise, god bless her.
I love how the themes of each of Hawaii’s gang leaders has an instrument that you could tie to their countries of origin
What are they out of curiosity?
Spanish guitar for Dwight, chinese flute for Wong and japanese instrument I don't remember what is called for Yamai

3:21 My personal favourite theme of the game. Hidenori Shoji brought it with Asphodelos in Yakuza 7 and he delivers yet again here
They really gave a flying giant roomba the best dubstep-trap-orchestral theme ever existed and the best substory only theme in the series
I never thought I’d love a LaD Final Boss theme more than A Scattered Moment… until I heard The End of Denial. I love BARRACUDA way too much. It came out of nowhere and became one of my favorites out of nowhere.
6:23 Bro was really out here trying to be the 7th Chairman of the Tojo Clan.

It's only fitting that the Tojo Legends would get a banger theme.
That The End of Denial edit was so clean.
Absolutely love they brought back the original Funk Goes On for the street fights in Kamurocho
Thank you for adding a reference to the cow tweet that RGG made for Defiant Charm LOL
