The fact Enahoro broke 405 off the ground is impressive in itself. Gutsy effort
FACTO
Jurins' last DL was quick. Even if Russ gets that last squat...Jurins still probably pulls it out
But his grip would be tested
nahh it looked easy.. but he would have needed another 18kg?.. he likely fails it...
Powerlifting has officially became a meritocracy. The comment section is clean. So proud of our community😊
Russell had that 3rd squat. He hit depth.
@@Blastmaster-ej5kw An entire jury panel with decades of experience seem to disagree with you but sure you keep telling yourself that.
@@joeclarke6424 You need experience to judge depth 😅
It has not. What about russian athletes who couldn’t compete because of politics? The -59kg world champion would be Sergey Fedosienko if they let him compete
@@shinichikudo1401 When making incredibly important calls, especially at a world level on World Record lifts that decide titles, yes. You need experience. There's a reason not just anyone can sit on the jury at worlds.
that last Russel squat truly hit depth

@@Isaiah_McIntoshYou’re speaking on assumption. Doesn’t matter if it looks like he had more in the tank or not, we don’t know if he could’ve really hit the weight he needed to if Russ didn’t get robbed
Yeah looked good. That was bs.
This was crazy!
Rip Rus.
One bruh goes out to Enahoro
RIP? He lost one competition, there’s many more to come
Would have been legendary to see Enahoro get that 405.
one day 👀
Not the little 83s Russ remembers.
I'm happy with it now he can finally stop being a "celebrity" and lift better getting humbled is a good thing.

Even if he had that last squat the other dude would still pull more to get the win.
@@brucepower3429 ”Finally stop”… WTF dude, he just broke the world record but there was still a better man that night.
@@vamovamovamo choke on it
great editing and thanks for the bumbers at the top
What the 83s deadlift?! So strong.
Jurins was crazy today, still sad about Russ tho, confident in the comeback.
That was fun to watch
Russ done a real DL ._.
not sure why that final squat was ruled out
high depth
@@weebthatlifts5750 looked very comparable to Jurins squat depth on attempt 3. biased crowd it seems.
@@weebthatlifts5750 the depth looked sufficient though.
rigged
@@SiyaHlubiit wasn’t, his hip crease was not below the top surface of his knee, if you pause at the bottom when they showed the replay you can see it quite clearly. The judges and jury also have much better angles to judge it from
WOW!!!!!!😮
Best battle in ipf history!
as a Russ fan and follower I think he thought his comp would be sweet. I know he just came off a meet a couple months ago but still I don’t know if he took his comp at this tourney serious. Jurnis had more in the tank. He was geeked up coming out for that final pull. New sheriff in town. Be hype to see Russ after some rest
Russ would be better off moving up a weight class, his strength in the off season @ 198 -205 is absurd when compared to what he is doing in a meet at 181. Pretty sure his best lifts were 765-441-765 in the off season hovering around 198 and his numbers have always just gotten better in each off season @ that weight too. He really wanted to win the 81s one more time, but you can tell on the podium how upset he really was with this loss. Hopefully it's enough to make him go up a weight class now.
@@Morris.Andrewtbh he seems the type to push at 83 even harder. he wants his get back to prove a point, this only proved he hasn’t mopped the floor with the whole weight class yet. In his eyes, the job isn’t finished.
@paulmcginnis3631 I can't see him winning back in the 81s. He's going against some newer folk as times for powerlifting are changing and evolving plus Jurin had more in his tank at least for deadlifts. So he's got room to grow, Russ on the other hand, all around his performances don't drastically change from one another on the world level platforms each year, but thats just purely my opinion. His strength just dwindles too much from 198 down to 181 closer to meet times, as much as I agree with your comment, I hope he just goes up a weight class so he can actually just get stronger all around vs taking these absurd hits to his peformance.
@@Morris.Andrew talking about jurins but don't forget joe borenstein......kid is a junior who put up 820 as a 75kg lifter. He's a bigger deadlifter than russ and can close grip triple russ' meet bench, and a 600lb squatter who's improving fast. Russ can go 860 and still not make it out the US now.
@@Morris.Andrew def agree that he needs to go up, Joe Borenstein is probably going to run the 83s within the next year or so, and just stating Russ’ personality, he’s going to elongate his time in 83 way longer than he really can handle and only do harm for him and his legacy
So good to see Jurins take it out.
Fighting
Beautiful black men, it's enough to bring a man to tears 😢
Big Meaty Men
Get em next year champ
👍💪
Russ has been so good for so long but ppl forget his gym total is always 50kg over his comp total. Ppl really saying hes gonna total 2k at 83...
Yep. The cut Russ makes definitely takes a toll on his strength. Personally I just want to see him a weight class up at this point but after this loss, there is no way he’s leaving the 83s for the next year or so imo
You see how much bigger he is than these boys. He's a size bully, those types of classless athletes will stay as long as they can. Look at B Hop. Entire career at middleweight. Some say impressive, I say boring 😴
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Beasts
If you look at russ's 3rd squat you can see his elbow touches his leg which most likey what the infraction was, depth isn't the only way to get red lighted.
What’s the reasoning behind the elbow touching the leg being a red light? How does that make it a null attempt
Lol, it wouldn't be overruled since there is no assistance from the elbow touching the thigh
@@spredator100 >be crabby old head at jury table

If you wanna hear about how shitty ipf judges can be at international comps listen to blaine sumner on the table talk podcast
@@spredator100that's the rule though, your elbow can't come into contact with your thigh no matter if it assists or not

What a day
Thank you guys for commenting 🙌 it was truly a spectacular fight 😵💫
So glad to see a new champ rise. Not a fan cocky people. Batman over Superman all day if you know what I mean
Good shit Russ you won in book bro 💪🏽
Robbed on that last squat. 😢
Cope harder still would’ve lost
robbed with sumo instead of conventional.
@@jamessontankersley2255he would’ve won bro what 😭
Well unfortunately for Russ powerlifting has rules
Doesn't matter he would still lose on the deadlift.
I would honestly still like to possibly see Russ at Sheffield potentially as a wild-card pick similarly how there were more than one 93kg lifters at 2023 Sheffield. Might be a great showcase regardless.
Problem is there is going to be 3 66s, you can't leave out the 3 way tie on bodyweight tiebreaker over the world record. Then today is the 93s who are almost certainly going to demand multiple slots.
@Isaiah_McIntosh I also think it's likely that Cayco gets a wildcard from Sheffield as he's the only athlete to podium both 2023 and 2024 even though usa is sending Brandon Pitre over him to worlds this year
FLAWLESS PERFORMANCE BY JURINS and all anyone wants to talk about is Russels missed 3rd
Jurnis would have won even if russ hit his 3rd attempt tbh
Russ is the crowd's favorite, explains the bias
@@huyngo7827 based on the reaction when jurins succesfully pulled the 3rd i don't think russ was the favorite lol

With sumo
@@ytsux9259 weird, y’all not be saying anything about the Americans that won pulling sumo 🤔
Wow that squat overturn was questionable at best lol. Congrats to the new champ tho!
It's not fair because Russell pulled conventional and the other guys pulled sumo. 😢

What a great success win by the judge decision! And we all know who's the winner right over here!
This worlds is the best ever.
ikr!
Russ!!!! No!!!! 😢 Great lifts from them all
I don't think they scored that right.
Even if Russ has gotten that 3rd squat (which he should) and played bench a little harder (shoulda woulda coulda) Jurins was going to go ultra instinct. Could he have gotten another 10 kg? maybe maybe not, but this was a dogfight on deadlifts and I am here for it
👀
Didnt Enas feet move on the third squat?
18:42 @5
This was the 2nd best battle. The top being the 66s class
btw the 66s video is on the channel also 😉😁
Honestly seeing that last angle even as a big Russ fan I would probably say that a miss on depth is warranted
Missing Cristian Trigo from Peru 🇵🇪, top 3 in squat and 4 in the world.
What would Russ’ total have been if his 3rd squat didn’t get overturned?
850.5, so Jurins would have to pull 357.5 for the win, and in my opinion he could have done that. Still a fun battle tho
i have a genuine question regarding jurins squat total his 3rd attempt is 310 kg but they registered 315 instead of 310 . why extra 5kg added ?
My bad I made a mistake 🥲
How in TF??? Was Rus's last squat ruled out?? He literally hit depth!!!
crazy to think that all of them got outbenched by some dudes at 74kg class. Yeah i didnt mean anything, props to them for the big deadlift also.
Reason for Russ last Squat not being legal looks like soft knees.
Depth is questionable - probably good - but knees definitly move in the locked position.
fast
yessirr
The extra 7 kilos forces jurgins to be more under pressure. Doesn’t matter if he can pull more on his last dead. The pressure would force him to possible try and catch up on bench which would’ve changed everything.
Nah going into the meet jurins knew he could pull anything. He literally called this plan to win. If russ misses a squat stay close on bench and pull to win cause he can pull anything he needs. An 8kg increase wouldn't be enough to change that plan, not with the coaching staff he had. If russ had brought his best squats and it was 15-20kg then yeah it could've gone much differently.
What’s happened to Brett gibbs ? Does he still compete
I remember when Russell had hair
Genuine question is Russel like 5 foot 2 or are those spotter 6’8”?
many powerlifter have low heights example gavin adin is 5'6 or 5'7 maybe russel is lower than gavin
How was that third squat not depth?
The 3rd sq...
uat was not below parallel
I’ve been waiting to see this! Why was Russ’s squat overruled?
for depth
You can be a good squatter, a good bencher, but as usually - deadlifter wins🎉
#getbettertomorrow #notgoodenoughtoday
Rob city,
why the 3rd squat of russel is not good?
That was a good squad
why was orhi's squat overruled?
Apparently ig lifts are not valid at IPF world championship
Thumbnail really robbed the video for me
Only for russel ❤
Conventional vs sumo but fuckin mad lifting 350 kg
To people saying robbery: People on site said it was noticeably higher. Camera angles can deceive you
Jurins second attempt is 305, not 310 and third attempi is 310, not 315
I saw that too and it continued wrong the rest of the vid
my fault guys, it corrects after the 1st bench 🙌

Russle lost? What?
RUSS GOT HUMBLED!!!
Russ squat should’ve counted. Especially if his second squat did. Those extra kilos and the pressure that comes along with it def makes a difference
Third squat attempt got robbed
Someone is vaping
Only one noble conventional puller. They need to calculate vertical distance bar moves as part of the score lol. Work equals force times distance
Sumo e_e people think its the same as DeadLift
First Taylor, now Russ…

Damn I know Russ hot lol
No one wanted Russ to win 😭
😢
so austin perkins totaled 836kg @74kg with more in the tank. I reckon he could clap these guys
Only russ conventional deadlift
How comes that last squat didn’t count? Makes no sense
This is a case of bad handling. Matt Gary definitely underestimated everyone.
Another reason why I hate Sheffield’s win by percentage of WR. Makes lifts sandbag. It’s literally stunting the growth of the sport.
russ played it too safe lowkey. shouts out to both of them
Bad call on third squat
Russell’s third squat looked good. Sorry Russell
That squat was robbed from him
Enahoros Ego is what's holding him back.
No, he knew he wasn’t going to win unless he could attempt exactly what weight would total him above the 2nd to last deadlift, and didn’t want to waste energy pulling his 2nd attempt
go big or go home. he knew exactly that he would still place 3rd if he failed the final pull cuz russ is still above him even if he pulled his second. he literally had nothing to lose.
You need an Ego to win.
Holding him back from what lol.Getting a bigger total? Why would he just aim for that instead of trying to pull for the win as the p4p strongest puller in history 😂?
It was really Russ vs. The Judge and Jury smh
Missed one lift lmao. Give him 3rd squat and he’d still lose
HARD COPE give the Brit some damn respect
Nah russel was thinking too easy about this meet i guarantee you that.. he would still lose anyway the guy would probably deadlift more.
That squat was just high
Enahoro is zesty!! Lmao
you’re watching men lift and this is what u think of..u the zesty one son
Conventional. Nuff said. Fff the judges
Why Enahoro squat like he deadlift?! He don’t use the back it’s too vertical
Yeah you should definitely teach a world class lifter how to squat.
