As he's going through the buttons the camera guy think "I know what I'll do a cool side on angle where you can hardly see the important information, that won't annoy anyone" what a hero. Oscar for this man.
The Newsshooter Kit looks like it will be a real competitor in the market. Love the extra options available like the Lav mic input and the versatile battery caddy. Even able use your Sony camera batteries. Well done RODE.
When you connect the Rodelink receiver to USB power, do the batteries inside the receiver charge while running off USB power or does the receiver truly run off the USB power? I'm asking because I am using Alkaline batteries in the receiver and I don't want the alkaline batteries to charge when i connect to USB power.
Nothing about the signal generated is it dual mono stereo or what. And can the channels be split allowing us to use one as a safety channel. That would be a killer feature.
Loving my Kit ! (Newsshooter Kit) I have a technical question regarding set up. I am using the following set up, first let me explain my set up, then in Option 2 what I want to achieve. Option 1 current set up MSI LAPTOP “Desktop PC” Canon 60d with RX Canon Web Cam Utility for Zoom Meetings XLR microphone mounted on TX (placed in my table in from of me) No issues, works great for recording directly onto The Memory Card in my Camera. Now for what Option 2 (need help please) ***MSI LAPTOP “Desktop PC” with RX plugged into the Microphone Jack on the Computer Canon 60d (used as Camera in Zoom Meetings) XLR microphone mounted on TX (placed in my table in from of me) ***My hope is that instead of using Option 1, that i can plug the RX direct into my PC which will ultimately transmit the sound from the XLR mic (placed on my table) into the Audio Settings in the Zoom Application. On my first few attempts I was unable to achieve any audio from the XLR Microphone. Basically, I am a teacher that would like to use an wireless XLR MIC during class on Zoom using the Web Cam utility from Canon. By utilizing the advanced audio settings on Zoom and the Rode Newshooter Kit, I am hoping to dramatically improve my voice instead of using the MSI built in microphone which only produces echo type sounds since I am about 2 meters away from the camera/computer set up. Do I need to by an adapter? Is there a way to transmit the audio from the XLR mic into my PC? Please let me know! Thanks for reading and for any help you can give. For a reference, this is the video i watched which spawned the idea.
EOS Webcam Utility doesn't transmit audio, only video from the camera, so a separate microphone method is needed. You can adapt the RX to a typical USB Audio interface using VXLR Pro+, or even purchase the AI-Micro for easy connectivity, then the world is yours!
how do i used this with a boom pole operator , so the receiver has a port on the receiver to listen and the boom operator has a way to listen to , so im thinking the receiver has a port right?
Hi, I have just bought this unit together with a few filmmaker ones. Can I mute the mic from the transmitter (I know it is possible from the receiver, but the xlr microphone does not have a switch button and I was wondering if I could use the transmitter for that)? Thanks!
Hey, RØDE, just got Newsshooter kit. I can not power up xlr transmitter with AA batteries - niether with my rechargeable NiMh, niether with disposable alkaline AA. Are there requirements of the nominal voltage of AA batteries?
Is there a way to record the audio straight from the newsshooter kit, for instance connecting it to a zoom h5? I am looking for a versatile video and podcast recording setup.
Please tell me why is it so difficult to find this product from the official dealers/stores here in Indonesia. It does exist here but always from online unofficial stores. Btw i am in Indonesia
It is a pity that the output of the receiver is quite noisy. With a good microphone and a quiet enviromnent it is not usable, unfortunately. The overall design, functionality and connection is very good though. Love the headphones out on the transmitter. But you should definitely work on the noisy output which makes professional usage impossible.

Any issues with range or RF interference? Any plans to update this and include an option to record a safety track internally?

We are doing live radio, and wondering that would it work if we connect the receiver to android phone from where we have a line open to the studio?
Another great RØDE product :-)
Can I use this when filming with a Samsung S9?
Looks great. Is this still the latest or has it been superseded?
I got one of these Rode Mic COMPLETE KIT and I paid £490.00 for them over 5 years ago
Can the AA batteries be charged via the USB port ?

I love rode microphones :)
One question, hope you will reply.
Can we use it as a in-ear monitor from a mixer? Switch the two devices?
Thank you.
When is this available in the UK?
Hey Seb, they're shipping from the factory now so they should reach dealers there soon!
Can the TX-XLR be used with microphones Shure or Senheisser? Thank you.
Yes, that was a pleasant surprise. I have the Sennhiser MD 46 microphone plugged into the Rode TX-XLR.
