    Thank you so for the last tip about right side and wrong side. I've was so confused and unpicked my work and started again because it looked awful. I get it now. Thank you 😊

    My first amigurumis flipped wrong side out and I didn't know it. Great advice on how to tell if it's right side out or not. I love the magic ring and agree with you it is very helpful. The invisible decrease helped me a lot with preventing holes, also yarning under. There was a lot of trial and error and constant learning and searching when I started amigurumi. Videos like this are so helpful!

      Aww I'm so glad you found this video helpful! I also had the issue with my first ami being inside out, so you're not alone. I still treasure my first amigurumi though! ❤️ What was the first one you made?

      @@cillacrochets My first ami 's were little pocket kitties I followed a jayda in stitches tutorial to make. I gave them all to our neices. I just learned they are now bathtub toys. Which I found hilarious. Amigurumi bathtub toys was something I had never imagined happening. Thanks for asking 🙂 ☺

    An easier way to make sure your amigurumi is on the correct side is always curl your piece so the tail of the magic ring is on the inside of it. If its the wrong side out, the tail will dangle outside your piece.

    uh oh, i saw this video late and already bought a hook with the reccommended size from the yarn label. is there any other way that i can make the stitch tighter? thanks for the tips by the way, very helpful!

    • @cillacrochets
      @cillacrochets  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Exciting that you have a crochet hook and some yarn - a first great step! Don't worry too much that you have the corresponding crochet hook to the yarn. There are other ways to make the stitches tighter if you're worried that your tension isn't tight enough. The X-Shape Single Crochet is one way to make your stitches tighter for amigurumi, and I have a photo tutorial on how to do this on my blog. I will record a video of the technique soon too. Another alternative, is to keep your yarn tension very tight and even give your working yarn a little pull to tighten the yarn around your hook before you do your final yarn over. Hope this tips help and I look forward to seeing what you make! :)

    I am the WORST person to follow instructions on the yarn label…fact, I usually throw them away but I like tight stitches so amigurumi best to do for me. Just learning and thanks for the tips.

      I don't think you're alone there! I throw my yarn labels out pretty quickly too. But amigurumi are such great fun to make and I'm glad these tips have helped 😊

    Funny how you pronounce "Cheapies" for Scheepjes, from the Netherlands.
    And if you are not in USA, which size is H in mm?

    • @cillacrochets
      @cillacrochets  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      😂 Now I'm embarrassed! 🙈 I have no idea how 'Scheepjes' is meant to be pronounced but I do normally just say "Sheepies" 🐑 I did just Google translate it though and learned that it means 'ships' and it's pronounced very differently to what I've been saying! 😂 Whoops. How do you say it? And does the word mean 'ships' to you? And a H hook is 5mm. ❤️

    • @armellec.4101
      @armellec.4101 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cillacrochetsit means ships because I had NL lessons at school. You could pronounce it like the letters SKAP-yes. Ty for checking the word and the size. ❤😊

    I don’t like the US sizing of hooks,,I use your sizes and I’m in the US

    • @cillacrochets
      @cillacrochets  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's so good to know! Do you find them easy to buy in UK sizes (E.g. Can you get a 2.5/3.5mm hook)? I remember there's one size hook my friend in the US says is uncommon that I use quite a lot across the pond ❤️

    I disagree with the magic circle - the method I use of 3 chains in a circle, which I have used for 20+ years, has never failed me. I have never had to do extra sewing to close anything up.

    • @cillacrochets
      @cillacrochets  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's just a matter of personal preference really. The 3 chain method is also great and I have used it before! I personally just prefer the magic loop. The extra sewing is also something that I choose to do. I know quite a few crocheters who use the magic loop and don't do any extra sewing. This is something I learned after seeing what happened to my first makes over a few years. 😊
