    What about the proper measuring of how long of a shaft you need? Say you bought a used implement that did not have a shaft, and you wish to get a custom built shaft made, how do you take measurements so you don't have to worry about cutting later?

    Hello, I have an inch and 5/8 before bottoming out at the closest distance between tractor shaft and implement shaft. Is that an acceptable amount of play? Thanks very much!

    When it goes up it gets shorter

      When the PTO shaft is level between the tractor and the implement, it’s at its shortest length. Rating or lowering the implement from that location will only increase the length of the shaft.
