You are fast becoming the new “Tom Weir” on 2 wheels I live abroad now for many number of years it’s great to be updated on changes to Glasgow especially the cycling infrastructure nice one!!!!!!!
Hopefully I can get out on my days off and get as much progress as I can over the next few months. Obviously it still isn’t getting completed as quickly as I would like.
I went cycling from Glasgow to Clydebank using the canal path yesterday for the first time this year. I used to dread getting near Clydebank because of that awful gravel bumpy path but I was pleasantly surprised that they've resurfaced it completely and now it's super smooth. There's also a part before Clydebank where the tree roots stick out onto the path they're also currently working on leveling all that as well. Hopefully that'll be done by summer. Can't wait to cycle there again, super smooth ride. Thanks for the videos.
Great video, thanks. The new cycling infrastructure on the Southside is brilliant and helpful. I do think there should be more 'education' available for pedestrians and drivers though as well as enforcement. I got knocked off my bike a couple of weeks back when using the Victoria Rd south cycle lane. An e-scooter using the lane, in the wrong direction, hit my back wheel, knocked me off & caused £150 damage before leaving me lying on the deck.
Always good to see councils putting in cycle lanes will they maintain them though? Should run road sweeper down them usually these lanes are full of dirt and glass, I don't use cycle lanes due to the poor maintenance by Glasgow Council, let's see how the new ones go.
Just done another trip to Clydebank via canal path and they have finished resurfacing the part where the tree roots stick out (just after annisland). Now its a completely smooth ride all the way to Clydebank, I don't feel the need to use great western road anymore

Thank you. Tom weir was definitely one of my favourite shows growing up.
A little sunshine! Good to see you're documenting the changes as they happen. There's so much happening just now, it's hard to keep up.

I’m looking forward to going this way soon as I always avoided this part because of the poor surface.
Nice looking forward to your future videos

That’s not great that you got knocked off your bike. Those e-scooters are so fast.
Interesting video, thanks
Another fab informative video , !

The one in Bilsland drive is in really poor condition.
I'm pretty sure they maintain the Sauchiehall St one so there's hope
