    I absolutely love scale V8 engines but they cost way too much money so I've had to settle with buying several full size real life V8 cars instead. Maybe one day my children or grandchildren will be able to enjoy an affordable V8 hobby engine.

    • @kingkota2302
      @kingkota2302 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Full size is more expensive.

    • @Impactjunky
      @Impactjunky 3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @@kingkota2302 No it isn't. I paid 600 dollars for my 84 Trans Am with a V8 and T Tops. I paid just over a 1000 dollars for my 72 Fury with a 400 cubic inch 6.5 liter big block V8. I paid 700 dollars for my K5 blazer with a 350 V8. Every running scale V8 engine I have seen for sale costs several thousand dollars. Full size is a fraction of the cost.

    • @TheMiniCar
      @TheMiniCar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      @@Impactjunky you are right, some of these scale V8 engines cost as much or more than some full size engines. The biggest reason is there is no economy of scale. The cost of actual engines in everyday cars, and the cars themselves, benefits from the enormity of the numbers being produced. A scant few people could afford a car, engine or piston for that matter, if only a few hundred were ever made. While there are no regulatory laws governing these little engines like the actual engines, it still must be safe to operate and takes a considerable amount of skilled labor to produce them in small batches. Because no one is going to produce them via large scale manufacturing, which is the only way to make them affordable to the masses.

    Wow this car is beautiful the amount of details 😍. I fell in love with the split rear window model when I was a kid. I'm 50 now, I own a modest collection of Rc's but nothing like this scale model. The motor alone must cost a significant amount and this 1/8th detailed scale models aren't an easy find either. Enjoy ! this is an awesome car that deserves to be babied. Nice job👍

    Can you build any model of car

    • @TheMiniCar
      @TheMiniCar  ปีที่แล้ว

      I only build the Indy, GTX and C2 vettes. Trust me, at this scale, that’s plenty. Thanks for asking.

    How much was the build

    • @TheMiniCar
      @TheMiniCar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A LOT. “Lil Red” was the prototype. The machining for the frame and well over a hundred other parts like it’s radiator bracket, sway bars and brackets, battery tray, pivots for the bucket lights, fixtures for mounting hinges and cutting the body, etc took five years to bring together. The CAD work for the detailed printed parts and wiring harnesses were no different. The engine is an original Conley so nothing was cheap. The cost to make one resulted in my making another 60 cars (50 are either 63 or 67 models and 10 are Grand Sports) to make it make sense. That cost is also why the models are expensive for those that have acquired them. If you are interested - edosan3@gmail.com.

    72 MHZ, use 2.4 GHZ and you can lose that antenna and be sure of no channel interference.

    • @TheMiniCar
      @TheMiniCar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep. I use Spekrtum tech in the 50 production models. “Lil Red” is the working prototype that served it’s purpose well. I will be posting vids of the other cars soon.

    defiantly not 1/4 scale but its cool

    • @TheMiniCar
      @TheMiniCar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely 1:4 scale. The math wasn’t the hard part, 1/4 of a 98 inch wheelbase car is 24.5 inches, etc. Building it was the challenge.

    • @Jack-sy8hs
      @Jack-sy8hs 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheMiniCar id say its close to 1/5 have a look at 1/4 scale cars in other vids much bigger than yours

    • @TheMiniCar
      @TheMiniCar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks BANT3R. I’m going with the numbers from the actual car. I’ve got larger and smaller 1/4 cars from larger and smaller actual cars they are based upon. I also have “standardized” 1/4 scale cars like Raco’s. They are great models but certainly not the standard for truly quarter scaled cars.
