Been here since your shootout videos. Just wanna say you helped me get into homerecording and being a gear nerd. Your amp reviews never disappoint! Thanks and keep up the good stuff!
Just got a Triple Rec rev f. Revisited this video and I really like the dual rec. But I got a good deal on the triple and love it. I don't think you can really go wrong with rectifiers.
The best tone I ever heard was a newly serviced, and completely re-tubed single Rec 50 cranked thru a 1960 Marshall cab with Greenbacks. My guitarist (I was the drummer) got it after selling his Marshall JCM900. He later sold the Mesa for a VHT Pitbull 120 previously owned by Frank from SNAPCASE, and paired that with two O.G. British Orange 4x12's. It was huge. Sound guys hated us after that, and I preferred the Mesa 50 honestly, but like I said, I was the drummer. A very loud drummer, who constantly broke stuff: ) \m/ Great video Fluff!! Cheers!
Love the Rhythm tones holy shit. And those cleans are so raw and full too. Such a killer amp. Not for everything but paired with a Mark Series or other brand would fit so well in a live mix.
I got my 2 channel Tremoverb head years ago after watching some of your comparisons. In the chassis of mine, it's signed "GM 6/94". I've added amps since this one, but being of similar musical upbringing, the Dual Rectifier was a dream amp of mine and has a special place in my heart. It sounds similar to this one, and the switchable reverb and tremolo is a cool addition
These amps came out in the 1990's i was 19 and going into my 20's. So, i've see n alot of amps based on the dual rectifirer band/MESA brand. The Triaxis was new too.
Can you do a video on how to tell the differences between all the revisions and different ways to tell which revision you have or may be looking to buy? Just an idea.
My first high end amp was a Mesa Single Rectifier around 15 years ago. I walked into guitar center and just bought it right away on a credit card my friend had, we had no idea what we were doing. The fact that it was a 50 watt really helped you push the tubes in a live setting. I think they were definitely underrated I have a Mesa Triple Crown now but I think I might pick one up on the used market eventually.
Aha there you are that old fluff side I've been waiting for the side that got me to subscribe instantly because your riffs drive me insane there so badass👙💪👊

Hello, thank you for your content........ do you have favorite tubes for these 2 channel Rectifiers, what do you recommended for preamp & output tubes ? .... thank you.... Rock On.🤘
Hi fluff , I’m contemplating a triple rec in the near future. Trouble is I’ve historically been a solid state Randall guy. And as we all know you have to push the hell out of a Randall to get it right, and then gate it so hard it chokes things out. My big question is, how hard do you usually have to gate the recto?I’ve played one recto in my life, sounded great to memory, but I can’t remember if it was a noisy shit like a Randall or not lol. Thanks bro!
Love the channel, Fluff! I have the chance to buy a Rev G at a decent price. My only issue is Mesa’s parallel fx loop. It is supposedly notoriously bad w/ modern stomp boxes. I’d run a gate, Keeley reverb/delay & a gate in the loop. Thanks for your input!
Found a tremoverb dual rectifier for sale at a local guitar shop. Mid 93-early 94 model. I’m assuming this would be based off of the revision G voicing or could it possibly be based off revision F?
@@EM-km8em i am not quit sure. But i think the serial number number i f666 🤘 Yes their sound was totally epic! 😁 I have seen that Richard use a Kemper profiling amp. Maybe that's why 🙂

F series are absolute sleepers. The cleans blow away just about anything in a recto series amp. The F100, in particular, had a monstrous lead channel, especially when you engaged the extra gain stage. The F series lead sounded much tighter and clearer than the rectos, as they lack that buzzsaw harmonic thing that rectos typically do. Mesa replaced the F with the Express series, which IMO did not have the same mojo in the drive channel.

Hey Dude! Great Amp! I Just have bought an old Rev G, and I'm wondering, do you have a pedal in front at 4:45? or is this the distortion just from the amp? Mine could never sound that defined in that gain setting, that you have... mine starts to sound muddy with the gain after 12 o'clock...
I own the Rev D, F and G. The D is close to a Soldano SLO that I play too. The clean of the Rev D is shit. The lead is awesome. The F and the G are almost the same about the tone. The main thing here is the loop. I prefer the parallel loop for the Boss DM2-w delay (best for shred with a Rectifier) and a serial loop for the JHS PantherCub or the EHX DMM. The price of a Rev F transition in mint condition in Europe is around 2500/3000 euros. My Rev F are a Dual "Racktifier" with the chrome chassis and the blackplate made in 1992 and a Triple Rectifier black plate and chrome chassis too, but made in 1993. No its a mesa . I have worked on them before they are a pain in the ass when they break. Only way you can bias one for other tube brands is to do a pot mod and install a bias pot in the fixed resistor bias circuit. If you look there are many of them around the net. I would personally do this to mine if I had one. Mesa simply buys up tons of seconds and test them and if they fall into there specs they stick there painted logo on them lol. The amps are normally biased on the light side to be safe . Some like the sound of a low biased amp and probably why these amps have there sound they do. Changing the bias of an amp can change how it sounds. Lots of people spurt out about changing tubes in there amps and hardly ever speak of biasing. Maybe he will respond and tell you the same .
