We had a massive beatles festival in liverpool in 2000s. City was blocked off, bands, everyone from all over the world came.
Liverpool Council shelved it cos of cost.

Many of those 15,000 could be temporary army personnel like those used for the riots, many of which I believe were even flown in from US that we had deployed out there
Those areas were always at risk, unless they're predominantly ethnic minority areas of course.

I refused to work in London over 10 years ago due to mass immigration and the threat of knife attack.
I stopped working there in 2009 and never been back and no intention of doing so.

I work all over London 5 days a week. There are some absolutely lovely parts and some hideous parts. I don't want to work carnival though. Gonna book holiday.

why do police get overtime for weekends, surely a police force would obviously be operating all week and the taxpaer should be charged the same regardless, not like toilet cleaners, waiters and shelf stackers get overtime, not even on bank holidays for many...
I'm a pensioner and I'd forego the heating allowance without a thought if it meant people were given a warm bed and safe shelter. A necessary essential and basic need for health and wellbeing! Unless by choice no person of british origin should be homeless.
Millions spent on policing a carnival of all things is a disgrace and needs addressing urgently in my opinion!

If we had a proper government in power, the military would have been deployed on the streets a decade ago - Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester is a hostile military combat zone and has been made very unsafe because of “crackheads” but there is no effort being made to tackle the drug dealers nor drug smugglers, Operation Vulcan has been a complete and total failure, they allow “free Palestine” protests but don’t allow any counter protests or patriot events, causing riots as a result - one is more likely to be arrested carrying an English flag or a Union flag on charges of being “far right racist”

Stop paying council tax
I am all on your side about not paying the council tax and it would only work if 100% of us we're all singing from the same song sheet
but individuals stopping it they will just send you a red letter to say you haven't paid this month's council tax and therefore if you don't pay within a certain date we will take you to court and you will get court costs added on and if you still refuse to pay a custodial sentence will be giving
so it is like I have always said the little man can't do anything they have got the power and the police and the courts all in their pocket there is absolutely nothing we can do
we have tried protesting the other week and now we have just opened the Floodgates for them to change the laws and jail the 5% who did turned violent ,
instead of listening to the actual cause of it all
so I say again there is nothing us ordinary Joe public can do about it , Nothing only vote for reform because at the moment they seem to be on the working

I stop paying mine two years ago it doesn’t work you don’t go to court they automatically take it out of your wages they have just started deducting it from mine and even that costs a pound without any notice as well

Our village fete is a celebration of tradition and culture and attracts over 1000 people each year. Funnily enough it doesn't require a police presence and costs the tax payer nothing. There are 6,000 villages across the UK and many have an annual village fete or similar and they don't require a police presence either. There is never, ever, any trouble, not even swearing or dropped litter.
I am British/Caribbean Heritage, i have been to the carnival in Trinidad and also Barbados which was ok .! But I won’t even send my worst Enemy to Nottinghill Carnival , it’s a cesspool of Crime and Violence….
