this is awesome..any suggestion ..if isomalt is not available? also..can i chill the cake if rice sail is already place in the cake? will the rice sail gets soggy?
Rice paper should be fine in the fridge. It takes a lot of moisture to soften that. Check out other rice paper tutorials on my channel (Galaxy Cake) to find out other ways to attach rice paper
since they will be soft if you leave it in the fridge for long, can i put it in a zip lock bag to ensure that it will look good til the day i decorate the cake?
But would you need that? Rice paper will stick to a lollypop stick without any glue. You can watch this video to see how th-cam.com/video/dwFXSmx2ai0/w-d-xo.html

Hi Anna! Do you have any tips on how to reduce the shine on the rice paper sails? I made some but they almost look like plastic bag, I wish they were a bit less shiny
Yes you can. Rice paper is very dry and stable even when stored in the fridge. If your fridge is too humid or you have fresh produce, just put a piece of dry rice paper in the fridge overnight to test.
Hi Anna - great video! How long does the rice paper sail stay hard? Can I put it on a cake that’s going to be cut the next day, i.e. will it keep its shape / stiffness for a day or two?
Thanks for the video! Was really helpful and gave me some great ideas for a cake I have in mind :) Just a question, are these sails actually edible? Like are they supposed to be removed before eating the cake? or can we just eat it as part of the cake?
After making one rice paper. I decorated my cake and put it on the fridge and it shrinked. Can it be put on the fridge after decorating it on the cake? How long does it last
Yes, because they are just rice paper. I personally won't eat any decorations (sugar flowers, wafer paper, rice paper). If you are placing your cake on display for several hours, I don't think it is hygienic to eat, especially at large event.
Добрый день, я по английски не понимаю, подскажите пожалуйста, на что вы клеите бусины( декор гель?) и что это за бусины, которые были первыми( крупные), спасибо!

Thank you. Great idea using spray bottle and partially dry the sail. This give better control on shaping the sail. Plus this dries much quicker.

Hi love all your tutorials! How and what did you use to make the pearls?
Thank you! These are made out of fondant and you can find this technique in Maggie Austin Book
Hi Anna! Do you have any tips on how to reduce the shine on the rice paper sails? I made some but they almost look like plastic bag, I wish they were a bit less shiny
You can add white powder color to your mixture, it will dull it down

Hi! Can I use rice paper sails on a cake with boiled icing?
Please let me know fi you try!
You are awesome
Awesome
Thank you for sharing. May I know if we apply the sails to the cake can we store the cake in the fridge? Or it will wilt?
Yes you can. Rice paper is very dry and stable even when stored in the fridge. If your fridge is too humid or you have fresh produce, just put a piece of dry rice paper in the fridge overnight to test.
@@floreacakes thank u for your kind advice! The buttercream would not cause it to wilt as well?
Will the rice paper get soft because of the buttercream?
You can safely use rice paper on buttercream.
why i just found you.. i should early.. love your tips.. done subscrib😊
Awwww.... Thanks for subbing!
Thank you 🙏🏼 I was one of the instructors in the just concluded cake Expo virtual 😄
Your demo was wonderful! Thank you for share so many cool wafer paper techniques!
Do you bake the one for client or you just leave It to air dry
It depends, I love working on decorations in advance, so I have enough time to let them air dry
🥰 Thanks!
Thank you. Could you plz let me know what is that gum used to fix the sail with the litte stick?
Absolutely. In this video I'm using Isomalt
@@floreacakes Thanks a lot. What else you can use for that?
Hi huni can we use edible glue instead of isomalt? Thanks for ur tutorials incredibly informative xx
Great video🥰 can you please tell me about the book I’ve showed
Absolutely! My favorite book of all time: Maggie Austin Cake: Artistry and Technique amzn.to/3jPt1vC
How long can I store this for? If I make it in advance
It stores very well. Up to 6 months, just make sure to keep it in a food safe environment away from direct sunlight
Sería genial que tuvieras subtítulos en Español Tendrías más suscriptores
I would love to do that! Are you able to create those subtitles for me? (I don't speak Spanish)
Hi, the sails can keep in fridge ?
Depends on your humidity. I've had success, but my fridge is relatively dry
Hi Anna - great video! How long does the rice paper sail stay hard? Can I put it on a cake that’s going to be cut the next day, i.e. will it keep its shape / stiffness for a day or two?
Yes! Should be no problem! Rice paper when dry - stays dry until you add more water.
Astashkina Cakes thanks Anna!
Thanks for the video! Was really helpful and gave me some great ideas for a cake I have in mind :)
Just a question, are these sails actually edible? Like are they supposed to be removed before eating the cake? or can we just eat it as part of the cake?
You are so welcome! They are made out edible materials but sails are hard and sharp, so I would suggest removing them before serving a cake
After making one rice paper. I decorated my cake and put it on the fridge and it shrinked. Can it be put on the fridge after decorating it on the cake? How long does it last
You will need to check your humidity. If it is below 30% - you can safely put rise paper decorations in the fridge.
Can this go in a cake that will need to be refrigerated?
I would recommend you testing in your conditions (humidity, buttercream/fondant etc.) I've neve had any issues placing rice sails in the fridge.
Is it possible to leave the rice paper with the cake in the fridge?
Yes, should be fine. However, I don't know your fridge or humidity level, so I would recommend you to do a test, to be sure that everything is safe.
can we use waferpaper for sails I don't have rice paper
Yes, sure. I won't use this technique, but let me know if you try.
What is the iCImod ? Just google it but can’t find it
Isomalt - sugar substitute. You can find all the tools and materials in the description under the video
Is the rice paper not same as edible rice paper that are used for edible images on cakes ?
I'm not sure what exactly you referring too, but this is a spring roll wrapper paper, nit the one you would use to print images.
I'm not familiar with what you're saying to attach the pearls with. Do you think a tiny drop of royal icing would work?
Absolutely! I'm using piping gel because it's clear
hermoso
I’m confused about the pearls. You said fresh water pearls - are they actual real pearls? Or made of something else?
They are made out of fondant and 100% edible
@@floreacakes ooooh ok, that makes way more sense. I was thinking wow, this is some super fancy cake with real fresh water pearls on it 😂
I hv a question Anna. These rice paper sails dry hard. Are these only for decoration purpose or can they be eaten?
Yes, because they are just rice paper. I personally won't eat any decorations (sugar flowers, wafer paper, rice paper). If you are placing your cake on display for several hours, I don't think it is hygienic to eat, especially at large event.
Replacement of isomalts plz
Isomalt is optional. You can insert the toothpick while your rice paper is still soft
@@floreacakes ohkk thnk u for ur rply
What if you don't have isomalt?
You can use buttercream or melted chocolate to attach sail to the cake
Thankyou for the info
what is the difference between rice paper and wafer paper
Rice paper (spring roll wrapper) is brittle and translucent. Wafer paper is more like edible regular paper - flexible and white. Hope this helps
@@floreacakes thankyou

Hi, maybe you can write , how in Russian will be things, which you use for the end ( something like ice....) 🙂?
Hi! I've used Isomalt. Я не знаю точное название на русском языке, наверное, изомальт?

Perls🤷why they not shine? Real one?
I’m assuming these are not edible?
They are made out of edible material, but hard when dry, so I don't think it's safe to eat
