  • The last Mold-A-Rama machine was made in the 60s, but one family has kept them working for decades - and turned them into a Chicago icon.

Wow!! I remember getting the monkey "see, hear, speak no evil" at the San Diego zoo when I was young! Brought back so many memories! Thanks for maintaining the amazing machines!

Some wonderful memories at Brookfield Zoo(very early 70's)include those machines.

I have a Sinclair Mold-A-Rama Dino from the 60's!! I was a very small child but clearly remember this cool machine. I put in a coin (have no memory of the price) and this wax Dino came out! Made an indelible impression in my childhood memories!! Glad to actually see this machine again, and in action at that! How cool!!

I loved these machines at the St. Louis Zoo growing up! My grandma used to take my brother and I and we ALWAYS had to get them! She used her thumbnail to remove the little extra bit on the holes on the bottom to scratch off the extra plastic as soon as they came out so they would stand up correctly when we got home. One of my favorite childhood memories!

Oklahoma zoo has some set up across the place. I got this brown wax rhino when I was maybe four. A couple days ago we took my little cousins there and we all got dinos. Seeing the ankylosaur appear out of thin air and fall into the prize drop brought a real smile to my face. Of course the kiddos wanted their own right after. The design still brings joy to the little ones.

I collected a lot of these on our travels for Summer Vacation in the 80s (mostly from Florida truck stops & the Space Center, but several from Museums & Aquariums too)

All the best of luck to them ! They should contract to manufacture brand new Mold-A-Rama machines, do some new items.
Still love the classics of Zoo Animals and Dinosaurs !

First discovered these at Brookfield Zoo, and I now exclusively collect dinosaur mold-a-rama figures from the Field Museum.

Observing the manufacturing process must have made the "Mold-A-Rama" stand out from other arcade games.
