Sadly it flies just as bad at sea level. The AH-1G is way under powered in the engine department, it barely pulls in enough air to turn on.

@@kshatriya1414 I was in the match for about 5 minutes. It was so terrible, it barely took off.
Drake Tamer I feel you but the flight performance on the cobra is good compared to the mi-4av. Its such a pain getting to the battle on some maps with 160 kph top speed. The mi does get decent atgm’s for its tier though. Without them that heli would be a disgrace. Both these heli’s are weak, one by its sluggyness and the other by lack of long range weaponry.

the auto kick out from air vehicles annoys me so much, when phly was spinning that should have kicked him out, I have had it before in my g-linx that my fuselage and tail were damaged and the game kicked me out I was still in complete control, engines fine, pilots fine able to land back at the heliport but nah kicks me out, but other times I have lost both engines, a pilot and be on fire yet do not get kicked out its ridiculous, it should be removed from the game, if I am so badly damaged that I can no longer fly I am sure I will hit the floor soon

I agree, the auto kick feature needs to be removed. If the player is going to die, then he'll die. Don't need the game to take away the player's freedom on when he wants to bail.
If the pilot managed to bring the aircraft back, then the game should reward the player by letting it repair and not auto kick. It can be quite fun to bring a severely damaged aircraft back, its a real challenge.
@@neurofiedyamato8763 I would like for it to stay but it needs to be consistent. People would eject from a kaput plane not cross their fingers and hope they take someone with them. Or maybe have a hefty penalty if your pilot dies because you refused to reject him? That way you still have the choice. People don't do risky things in real life because we can only die once. Give people a reason to want to keep their pilots alive.

4:10 this right here. The one helicopter that you need to get in their close, maneuver around, evade incoming fire, and get away..... and they made it so it barely even flys.... was so excited to get my first helicopter, and was horribly disappointed when i took it out and had to nurse my brand new helo copter over to the battelfield feet over the treetops because it just wouldn't go any higher, or faster.... oh and it was a map where the helo spawn is 10km away so it took 5 minutes to get there...
This helicopter is definitely fun with hit and run passes tbh. Use grenade launchers, and rocket/mg load out is the best I’ve tried. The 20mm minigun is also pretty decent too. Too bad it’s tracers are gone now but it’s still effective as hell

So I’ve got a cool story (TLDR at bottom) today in 20th Century History class, we had a guest speaker who was born around 1950’s. he talks about the Cold War, which we were learning about. At the end, the students ask questions and one kid asked “did you ever see frontline service/combat?” So he told us about how he flew in a RCAF CP-140 Aurora sub hunter, 4 engine turboprop I think. One time, while on patrol, they picked up radar pings hitting the plane, they were soviet. He was the planes commander/navigator, and he messaged the base that’s close to where I live and said something along the lines of: “we got enemy planes, if you don’t hear from us again, we’re dead”. He told the radio operator to send the message on his word. A minute later he gave the word, the message was sent and the pilots pulled back the throttle till a sliver above stall speed and he says “we fell like a rock from 8000 meters up to about 100 meters above the ocean, we wondered if the enemy followed us.” Then they headed back to base, and landed safely. After the bell rang, I was curious as to what plane he guessed it was. He said that he saw them, 2 “bears” right before the plane dropped. I didn’t know what “bears” were, as I’m not good on NATO classifications. I looked it up, and “bears” were, I kid you not, Tupolev Tu-95 strategic bombers. 2 of them, right off the west coast of Canada. I could be wrong, like I said I’m not good with NATO reporting names and may have got the wrong plane when looking it up, but I’m pretty sure no soviet fighters are gonna make it that far across the Pacific Ocean.
TL,DR - We had a guest speaker in school talking about the Cold War, plane got radar pinged by 2 Tu-95 strategic bombers.

There are two main Apache variants. The AH-64 Apache and the AH-64D Longbow.
The AH-64D (and following models) have a radome/sensors on the top of the roter allowing them to look over terrain without exposing the body of the chopper.

This is excellent presentation.. there was hardly anything that interested me in WT helicopters up until now..
Phly you can recover from a broken tail rotor by decreasing collective and gaining speed. Once you gain speed the air will stabilize the helo while it is moving with out the tail rotor

Cobra vs Maus in the Swiss Alps is the showdown serious historians have always envisioned.
Nice video, a few pointers for the AH-1G. It is my favorite helicopter to play even in higher tiers:
I.-76x Unguided rockets, makes you a monster, but it also makes you move more akin to a rock. I usually play this loadout in two forms:
-Take as much speed as I can and make a line across the three capture points, blasting as much rockets as I can when I see an ennemy tank. Works but will get you killed most of the time.
-The other way is finding a spot 1-2km away from your objective (be it a capture point or the spawn etc) and shot short burst of rockets toward the ennemy when you see it (don't hover though, move sideway).
-In both way I describe, it is better to dump the 40MM, for the 2 frontal 7.62 Minigun, as you can mark ennemies with them or somewhat defend against airplanes.
II.- The other loadout (and the one I usually take): 38x Unguided Rockets + 2x 7.62mm Machine gun:
- With this loadout, you can now manoeuvre, which mean you can hunt. Get to a relatively safe place and look for ennemy vehicles that are (in order of importance): 1- SPAA or Other Helicopters, 2- Lone tanks (sniping from afar or flanking), 3- Tanks caping a point.
-Once you have no more rockets you can go back to base and reload as you will be alive most time than not.
-Now important choice, Do you want to use 40MM or Minigun in the front:
-If find that most of the time you can kill tanks with unguided rockets, but aircraft kills you take the minigun, with the minigun + 2x machineguns, you can kill Aircrafts and Helicopters alike.
-If you can't kill with the rockets take the 40MM as it is a great way to finish a disabled tank, but you loose on the ability to kill aircrafts (Helicopters still can be killed with the two machineguns you get with the loadout.)

Heja Phly amazing great doctrine mid & close range attacks & sneaky styles =D This exact style that you are doing I did in the exact the first BF 1942 DESERT COMBAT mod, with a Thurster gear & Joy stick manned together. ( The first BF game ever created by Dice ) do not confuse your self with the much newer updated **BF graphic versions out there today!**
With out such gear, it was really hard to create such menuvers, was possible with mouse & such. But at those young era times, Thruster & joy was the thing. Cheers for the ride & giving us those old sweet gaming style into our eyes memories. Great laugh & good smile. Loved to use the deep Valley travel cover low to the ground or houses or stones... hills holes anything... and with low altitude licking ground... + having great speed still onward.. and then just SWISHHH you fly up aggressively hard... all they will know is your sound.. but due to ping + game roles turret speed.. they wont have the time to point target in you 100%.... and you are there like 10-20 Meters away pew pew pew pew pew or just loud out all rockets at once... and FROOOOOM... dive away low.. and back home for a reload? Or keep on going!!! :) hehe

The Apache will probably be the premium the ka 50 came out in 1980, the original longbow came out in 1980, but I suspect they will push out the present day version as a premium for 50 bucks

What we need is better mission oriented gamemodes...
Players are assigned into squadrons and they have to work together to complete mission objectives.
Imagine you have a squadron of Attackers and they have to destroy the AAA to make way for the bombers. Etc get it?
Or maybe a mission that combines all vehicles.
Maybe A tank landing force is escorted by a naval force and players make a landing. They breach through the beaches while helicopters provide some support.
The tanks then rush in and blow up certain radars.
Once the radars are destroyed then bombers can fly in and destroy an airfield.
Mission complete!

personaly i have more interest in some other less advanced attack helicopters than the Apache: Bell 309 KingCobra, Bll 207 Sioux Scout, Bell YAH-63, Sikorsky S-67 BackHawk (th original Black Hawk, before troop transport version), Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk attack variants (MH-60L DAP, AH-60L Battle Hawk, AH-60L Arpia, UH-60 with 16 Hellfire), Lockheed AH-56 Cheyenne and the Bell OH-58 LCH variants
