Great video, thanks. Have you ever had a problem with the thermostat and receiver losing connection? I have to reset the receiver every day, even though we've only had it installed less than one year
Tip: before you start make sure the existing installation works as is. Otherwise if it doesn't work after you've finished, you won't know if it's because of something you've done or not.
I got a wiser (wifi) duel channel system with 5 thermostats in the high use areas to keep them controlled, it took a few weeks of monitoring and messing to get everything right. Can't fault it. I use it integrated with home assisstant, I have 4 mapped profiles for each season and I can hit one button and it'll overwrite all the settings to match the current season. It's also got geofencing on (via HA) and can also be controlled via alexa as well. Far better than relying on a cloud service like nest.
Sods law I just fitted a new controller because the old one had all the markings warn out and seemed to be playing up? According to the date It was almost twenty years old.over 😩. We also don't have a main thermostat for the central heating, so one of these would have been the perfect solution. I'll just have to bite the bullet and change it again for one of these. thanks for the video 👍
Hi James, can you tell me if I can control UF heating plus CH plus hot water with a wireless set up by purchasing a second programmer and pairing it to the receiver?
Hi Guys, I currently have a Horstmann (CentourPlus c27) attached next to my boiler and Drayton Digistat+3 system thermostat near the landing. Is it possible to have one single devise/system to control both the heating and hot-water system. Any suggest if the new Drayton Digistat system would work as an integrated system? Do advise please.
What's the difference or benefit of a smart thermostat compared with this? This product seems much cheaper. Can I connect when away from home to set heating before I get home? Love your channel, great vids.
@@richardnaylor3300 I did a lot of research on all the units and that particular unit only works over Bluetooth so you will need to be nearby with your phone. I purchased the DRAYTON WISER HEATING 1-CHANNEL THERMOSTAT CONTROL KIT at Screwfix. I only needed 1 channel for my older heating system. I went from a timer clock only to this and I find it amazing, never had any kind of thermostat on the heating before so the timer turned on or off that's it. So now I have really great control over the system and I've monitored oil usage to compare with previous years and already I'm at a saving of 5 weeks oil in my comparison. The heating is on much longer now but it's not using as much oil as previous years. I'm delighted I made the upgrade. I'm in Ireland and the unit plus a wiring box, fused spur and sundries cost €180 all in, (no labour all DIY).Next job will be to install TRVs on the rads but as I've 19 rads and they will cost about €50 each that won't be done anytime soon 😂
@@gadgetman36 That’s not great then is it. I’d prefer a system that you can control over the internet, so you can control it away from home. Do you have any recommendations?
@@tonylatanza3879 No and Bluetooth isn’t easier to setup than Wi-Fi. It keeps disconnecting, it does my head in. Yes any of the main brands like Drayton and Honeywell do smart thermostats. I’m not so keen on Hive and Nest because they aren’t traditional heating control manufacturers, they’ve just jumped on the smart home bandwagon.
How do you know a Plumber has installed a Wiring Center? ... The fixing screws are always on the pi$$ and the Center is always on the wonk. Loving it 😂 ... keep up the good 😉 work 👍 [Bundy10]
Please NOTE. Do not fit the batteries before you've fitted the main unit. If you do you must do a reset of both units. Because the thermostat pairing will time out. And you will not be able to pair them.

That's exactly what I want to ask - How do we link out the old room thermostat?

Hi how do I pair more than one device, thank you in advance
Can I setting up for 15 minutes hourly like 15 past 1, 15 (for 15min) 15 past 3 for 15 min etc? Because with hive I cannot do it
Why not use the one connected to Google home ?
If it’s using Bluetooth instead of interweb then won’t you have to be in range of the control panel for it to work?
Yes, and even within the house you may exceed Bluetooth's max range of 30ft/10m.

Oh no , Emily has shrank your T-shirt’s again
So the original poster never replies, great
Is there anything about plumbing this guy does not know, it must be all of 30 years old, kudos.
