    As an industry analyst for a fortune 200 company, I use Excel and PowerBi/Tableau almost exclusively. I do use Alteryx for some data cleaning, but Prep from Tableau can handle the brunt of my transformations. Most big corporations aren’t doing anything fancy as enterprise-level adoptions of new tools is very slow…very. 😅
    Great videos!

      Financial analyst for a fortune 200 company here as well... I can sadly confirm what you are saying is true. I'm just amazed on how much we relay on the excel limitations

    Aw this is such a comprehensive walk-through of apps for data analysts! Thanks for making this vid Luke! I didn't know about the CleanShot app, will give it a try next time - feel like it will make my ugly plots look prettier 😂. And yeah, I feel lazy AF as well as I get older 🙈

    As always, a valuable source of knowledge from an expert. I'm finally starting down this path in IT and having a few tricks to make it easier always helps. Thanks Professor Luke :) :)
    I don't know, but, have you thought about talking about a pathway of courses from basic to advanced for those thinking of entering the underworld of Data Analysis or IT in general?Or by niches.
    Like a genealogical tree (I know you've already explained some but I don't think in that way)
    I'm not sure whether to take the Google or IBM courses, but I know that I want to go higher, and also into other specific courses.
    AND LAUNCH PUBLIC DISCORD SERVER 🤩🤩

    Yeah. This Mac incompatibility with the tools of my trade has kept me from testing those machines. Currently using a gaming laptop for work due to its power, upgradeability (32gb ram and 4tb storage currently), cuda and software support.

    Great video.
    I just started my google data analytics certification. I’m really interested in becoming a data analyst.
    I have some learning difficulties and slower processing speed. Im gonna give it a try. Do you think that this will be too hard for me? Is there something else I can do that’s easier?

      Hello there! I took that course and it's very doable, especially if you take your time and supplement with TH-cam and ChatGPT. I watched the course on youtube on before committing to it 😅 There's a wealth of free information out there but the resources from the course are impressive
      The SQL module was the most confusing section for me, a bit of a difficulty spike after the slower and less technical parts

    • @LukeBarousse
      @LukeBarousse  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Great Question; I use a mac primarily for content creations (i.e. video editing) and so I just have to have workarounds to use it for analytics. If I wasn't a content creator, and only an analyst i'd go with a PC

    I have a doubt which just prevents me from switching to MacBooks. Excel usage means lots of numbers being input. MacBooks lack a dedicated numpad on their keyboard. Does this limit the productivity or ease of use in some way?

    Hi Luke, put the cost aside, is working on Mac with Parallels really limiting comparing to a PC? I mean in terms of performance, compatibility etc. thanks!

    • @LukeBarousse
      @LukeBarousse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Really depneds on how powerful of a mac that you have. I have an over-spec'd mac with 64gb of memory and windows apps works faster than they did on my PC (granted that machine had only 16gb RAM)
      I've tried this on macs with as little as 8gb of memory and it can get limiting so make sure you get enough memory if you decide to do this

    • @SocratesWasRight

      @@LukeBaroussepeople often compare really expensive Mac configs with low powered Windows configs. I personally have ended up using a powerful gaming laptop for work.

    • @SocratesWasRight

      It really depends on the region. Here in Nordics Microsoft is really strong so Power BI is important here. SQL, Power BI, Excel & Python and projects done on those (combined preferably).

    Can Knime replace SQL?

    • @LukeBarousse
      @LukeBarousse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A company could potentially use Knime and interact with a database not using SQL... but IMO, SQL is a relativiely easy language to learn and also its beneficial to learn to understand how to analyze data better... so I'd still recommend learning SQL
