- This is a herobrine tribute, a scary part of Minecraft horror since Minecraft creepypasta began. This is the true story of Minecraft herobrine explained by me in a Minecraft video essay talking about minecraft nostalgia and herobrine sighting, and it's very different than the dream herobrine video

I've thought of Herobrine as a peaceful observer, surviving on their own...
But what you are describing is far too real.
This video made me feel what I felt when playing Survival for the first time. Your writing skill is exceptional, well done.
"showing the monster makes the terror disappear"
unless, of course, the monster is inside you. unless it is you.
What do you guys think of this style?
O H M Y G O O D N E S S this is the best Herobrine video EVER
If He wasn't real before, he is now... in the deepest depths of our subconscious
@Zeemyth I love your horror videos because you somehow capture the vibe of it so well. Your voice, the music, the topics....
In short:
Herobrine is the personification of the concept of What Lies Over The Horizon being horrible.
Ooh I should look into that idea, sounds exactly like it
5:15
I THOUGHT that tower in your Farlands video looked familiar!
....Wait.
The Farlands video is my fault due to the original comment of this series, isn't it.
Holy shit
the realization hit me like a truck
this is the most logical description of herobrine ever, its just the dread of the unknown, of what lies beneath those caves, minecraft really is a scary game...
This guy needs to be a script writer for horror movies
Like holy sh*t
This is incredible
🥲honestly I’m gonna try to get up to that, but Hollywood has a hard time letting good horror happen
@@Zeemyth honestly man
"that computer is in a landfill somewhere along with the world" brought me to actual tears. damn..
not your pfp
3:43 wow that resonates deep
4:40 that chicken somehow makes the message so much clearer and relatable LMAO
5:16 hey that's the wood tower in I think the farlands vid
As a person who only started playing minecraft in 2020 I have no experience with anything Herobrine.
That being said, this is a really cool way to look at the legend. I like the atmosphere.
I appreciate that, your insight into my vids is always something I look forward to
I legit thought herobrine was gonna pop up in the end from behind the tree
But that would make the terror disappear lol.
BROO THIS WAS AMAZING WHATT. I used to play minecraft PE after watching herobrine videos and be scared on every sound or dark corner lol, this was just so great
Thank you dude, I was really hoping to capture that even a bit
I really like this depiction of herobrine. Instead of being a ghost of minecraft who haunts you and builds abstract structures, he is rather a presence, a thought, perhaps a feeling that right beyond that ocean, behind that tree, right behind the grasp of your render distance is someone, perhaps something, watching your every move.
Everytime you said something about something being behing me in the game, I genuinely expected something to pop out, but the eeriness of it not being what I expected sends shivers down my spine, I loved every second of this video.
Ayyy glad that eeriness pulled through!
This is my favourite description of Herobrine I have ever seen. Not thinking of him as an entity, but as an incarnation of the accumulated fear that lies deep within us. Something you know is probably not real, but you just can't prove it isn't there.
In 5:16 appears the same house that in "Why I went past the farlands".
:)
I've been playing since 2014, and I can say I've watched those 'HEROBRINE IS REAL!!!!!1!11' Videos around that time. This entire idea of looking back on what it was, not what he is comes to me as an amazing troupe, and the footage and atmostphere of the entire video gives that feeling. Your the only person I can find in the world that has the brillance and creativeness to turn a popular yet old game into basically a liminal space. Giving that creepy feeling and true horror without having to use cheap jumpscares or over-used tropes. No matter what, I'll always support your work, for it desevres it. Have a great day :)
This is probably one of the nicest ways anyone has described my stuff thank you so much!!!
1:05 wow that's actually a really good point
you know a video is really good when someone comes back to rewatch it a year later
abruptly ending the video just hurts me in ways i cannot describe
Absolutely loving the sound effects really adding to the spoopy vibes of the video, especially the whispering. Looking forward to more videos from ya
Yet another amazing Zeemyth video!
This video really encapsulates that feeling we I first had my first survival world on the old xbox 360.
The nostalgic feeling of being watched, just curls up my spine. This was the time that I came to realized that Herobrine does not need to exist, the reason why it's so terrifying is because he's out of our reach. We can't see him or hear him but he is there. The video really change my outlook on liminal spaces and nostalgia. You did an Amazing Job!
:D yo thank you!! You’ve got it spot on, it’s that feeling you can’t scratch every time you’re in an empty world
@@Zeemyth Thanks, I can't wait to see more stuff like this
I really enjoy all the work you do on the wonderful story filled Roothouse story, but somtimes I just need somthing mundane yet investing to listen to and this is my go-to video. Your voice is really good at being emotion filled in story filled videos, but also just streamline and really calming in videos like this. I support all videos you try and make, but these ones are some of my favorites and I hope you try more like this in the furture!
as someone who spent their childhood days trying to threaten Herobrine into appearing, and then later being scared and feeling like I was lucky that I hadn't incurred his wrath simply by stating his name, this video hits hard
As a former OG mcpe player, This feeling for me is far too familiar, The days where I would just be playing in creative, Building houses inside mountains. Trying out addons that I enjoyed, playing the game till I fell asleep. But there was one thing that always limited me from playing survival in minecraft. And that is the feeling of something... Something behind me, Patiently waiting for me to make one wrong move, A feeling that I was never able to take off my chest until I became old enough to understand that its just nothing but my mind playing games with me. So I dared to make a survival world once. And there I saw a cave... A cave with an eerie aura surrounding it... Yet welcoming. I entered that cave and left the world for a couple of years. A couple of updates later, The world was corrupted, A world that was barely able recognizable. Thus the reason as to why I had quit Minecraft back then.
i watched this video for the nostalgia of minecraft and creepypasta, and I've gota say, this is the best herobrine video I've ever seen.
Please never tell me a horror story I will shit my pants. Great video tho!
You may not want to watch the next one then :)
Can’t believe this video is 2 years old and so underrated
This reminds me how when I first started playing Minecraft, and I was mining but something was off and I felt like I was being watched and I looked around and nothing was there
Going back to my old world gives me extreme dread for some reason.
i feel this. i didnt start playing minecraft as early as most people, having started at version 1.5 and starting to really play at version 1.7.10. those times were fun. i remember playing in survival building dirt houses and in creative in amplified worlds, building secret bases inside the flying islands that generated, but at one point something changed. it wasnt caused by a particular experience or by a discovery, a switch just flipped in my head. I started to get the feeling i was being stalked, that someone was right behind the corner just watching me. every time i thought i heard something i would turn to try and catch it, and yet the scariest thing was that i never really did see anything. it took a while to shake off that constant feeling, but i eventually did. i still do fell uneasy in dark caves
When I was first playing minecraft survival on my phone in 2018/19, it was pretty creepy. I would be jumpscared by even zombies and skeletons, because I wasn't good at killing them. I didn't know that mending existed, so I never wanted to waste my diamonds and iron by having gear break, so I would usually wear no armor or only wear the armor that mobs dropped. and without optifine, it was pretty creepy going inside caves and mining. It was also scary being in the night on a new world with no bed.
Now on java I use fullbright and I never play survival worlds (just not as fun for me) but I can still imagine the creepiness that I just never consider when i'm playing.
English is not my native language but I love it. I count this guy’s writing as my goal of learning. You my teacher, made English much more charming than it seems!well done!
This, right here, is why Herobrine / Dweller mods aren't scary. Imagine a Herobrine mod that makes sounds / opens doors / spawns structures always out of your field of view and *never* shows Herobrine at any point. That would actually be freaky.
Ps3 minecraft really gets that feeling of fear into you if youre plaing survival alone.
You cannot see Herobrine because Herobrine is what you cannot see.
Bro this is so cool, this is like the first time when i play minecraft. Just amazing
this is SPOOKY! note: I feel like "the world was peaceful enough. and then you came." kinda fits a dialogue between God and the devil. garden of eden-ish vibes here. ALSO, why does this make me feel scared on a more primal level than other horror content?
You is poggers and amazing at videos
This is such a beautiful video.
WE GETTING SCARED OF A LITTLE SHADOW IN A CORNER WITH THIS ONE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
5:27 that is a new log texture against old grass and stone.
This is really good!
Bro, I need to know. How the fuck are you both so terrifying but so nostalgic at the same time?
TLDR: it was all in le head
I never really got scared of mine's in minecraft.
But I have gotten scared that I was being watched in minecraft only because I was playing at night before bed.
Bro this video is so damn good
Thank you man!
It's the hallway. The painting with the morning skull.
BRO HOLY SHIT THE DREAD IN MY LIFE YOU MADE ME REALIZE I ALWAYS FEEL DREADFUL AND THE SINKING FEELING IVE BEEN HAVING INSIDE MY NOSTALGIA IN THIS GAME IS A MORE INNOCENT FORM OF FEAR THAT COULD TAKE FORM BUT NOW MY FEARS HAVE NO PRESENCE AND I JUST WANT TO BE YOUNG AGAIN
I really question the wording of Zeemyth when it comes to minecraft worlds what does he mean by "The type to lure you in" and "Personal hell"
Something malicious is brewing.
Edit: Am I trippin balls or is that the building from the far lands video? 5:15
This video alone gets you a sub let alone every thing else you do👍
05:16 same house in farlands video
hidden lore here...
This is why we don't need horror mods for minecraft - it's already a horror game.
I personally don't believe in herobrine and never did, but this video puts to words some of what makes this game downright terrifying at times. Forget "oh I didn't realize Endermen do THAT much damage" or whatever - the horror comes from the void of your render distance limit itself. How do we *know* there's not Something Waiting?
5:16 is this the same house we see in the middle of your farlands video or am i nutsss
i understand this dread all to well... it's why i dont like playing singleplayer.
As for Herobrine. i dont think he exists anymore but... i've encountered him... or something like him before a long time ago.
Now this is what i can perfect horror i think that i m not going to play minecraft for the rest of my life
😂this is why I almost only play creative mode
very pog video also first :)
Where ever he is, the house I built for him all those years ago still stands if he ever needs it. Showing the monster makes the fear go away, sure. But it takes a certain kind of person that is willing to go out and befriend the monster. After all, its all a matter of perspective really.
What do you think he sees in us from his point of view...?
This was great
4:32 IM ABOUT TO GO TO SLEEP 😭
The tree at the end, he's watching behind the camera isn't he.
underrated
Omfg I love this
Bro you are very underrated!!!
Ah thank you :) holy it’s been too long I remember your Japanese style build comment
@@Zeemyth ohhh yea I remember that
YES MORE ZEE CONTENT
i have been trying to write like this, how do you do it? its like a rant that goes on to nothing but still insites me on everything
Jacob Geller videos 😩 to be real though I think it’s about starting things analytically, but then moving to more emotional personal parts of the thing you’re writing, then mixing the two for the sake of helping people feel the point
Erm is that house at 5:15 the one from the farlands?
Autonomic .
Within going to see
Your words are like those of alan poe
Dang, thank you so much wow!!
Herobrine is Fear the UNKNOWN
This video has been flagged for anomalous content.
why are you talking about minecraft like it's subnautica
Because it can be just like subnautica. Well, at least it could be back then. Nowadays the world has too much presence, too much familiarity, too many things out there to make you feel like the world is alive and those things are comforting to us, even if we don't like to admit it.
Back in the old days, the world was empty, you were alone... At least, you hoped that was the case.
Imagine if the next time you played Subnautica, there was another diver out there, ignored by the fish, just behind every swaying bit of kelp, watching you survive.
That's what it was like.
uhhh because hes fake
