Amazing! I was at this concert. Not too far away from Pikes Mkt. Was a bit rainy outside, of course, then Ben Gibbard delivered an amazing performance.
oh! i saw ben gibbard too! but in SF. haha, i sang along too i have to admit. :P he just writes some really amazing songs. you can't help but sing along. i was so excited that he blew my friend and i a kiss. he was the poster we made and wanted to show his appreciation i guess. :D
This vid and the subsequent "such great heights" vid have been staples of mine for years now. I dig them up every now and again and it's always great. There's something really special about the performances. Thank you, putainfromage.
Finally, somebody I can agree with haha. I love it when the crowd sings along. I think it'd be the most amazing experience ever to have a buncha people so excited to hear MY song to sing along.
Seeing this video brings a smile to my face. The first time I actually saw it I had no idea who Jenny Lewis was...that was so long ago! Now I feel as if I've heard every Rilo Kiley song ever made! I was talking about this with my gf, am I the only one who thinks Ben Gibbard looks better with a bit of chub? haha Also, I don't think he's talking about lacrosse. Though he says "quarters", the mention of a "net" and "3rd" makes it seem like hockey.

And imagine how much fun the people in the crowd must be having. they are right there singing WITH Ben gibbard. It is probably a great experience for Ben AND the fans, and this concert wasn't held to entertain people on TH-cam, it was held for the fans that were there.

He has such a dictinctive voice, its unmistakable, you know when its ben gibbard singing. Also the shaggy hair and really wild plaid short sleeve shirts that just kick ass and the emo shades...:)

I downloaded a live version of Title and Registration and for about a minute he was apologising over and over to a guy that was getting kicked out for taping the show 'cos Ben didn't care, the cafe or wherever he was playing did (if that matters for something lol). But at any rate in June I'll have been to DCfC concert so I'll know what it's like... then I'll reply again XD

if people enjoy singing along to music its completely fine. its a concert, a place where people let loose and show how much they appreciate the music.
