- Considering how many X FM shows/podcasts there are & that almost everything that comes out of Karl's mouth is comedy gold it's difficult to put together a list of his funniest comments. Therefore here are just a handful of my favourites.
seriously I suffer from ptsd and karl is one of the few people who can really make me smile. His mind is amazing

Steve is great - "it was just busy asking for coffee". Earlier in that show Karl talked about the monkey that could ask for coffee in 23 different ways
Everyone has a go at ricky but without him it wouldn't be funny. Karl talks shit which is the funny part and when ricky and Steve take the piss that's also funny. Karl doesn't try and be funny he is dead serious so if he just sat there saying things on his own it wouldn't be as good

Everyone here is complaining about Ricky interrupting Karl when he speaks but to be honest I'd rather listen to Karl when he is with Ricky because Ricky sort of helps me to find what Karl say's even funnier. If Karl just spoke on his own I wouldn't laugh half as much as I do when Ricky starts butting in.
Ricky definitely brings the best out in him but if you watch his travel shows hes still hilarious on his own, funniest man on the planet and hes not even tryin to be....
I think Karl's funnier when he's not being mercilessly bullied.

We know Stephen and Ricky set these things up but we don't have to hear Ricky being a complete pompous dickhead and acting he knows everything ALL the time.
Karl hasn't experienced much but he's actually really open minded whereas Ricky's so conceited he never once listens to what Karl is saying and takes it in and realises that he might have something interesting to say from a different perspective- his own perspective as opposed to all the knowledge Ricky's learnt second hand through reading.
Are any of Ricky's ideas original?
Even when he insults Karl he always says the same things- "head like an orange, completely round head, ignorant idiot, just listen to yourself, Karl."
Obviously Karl is listening to himself and doesn't see the problem with what he's saying but Ricky doesn't EVER explain anything logically, he just says nasty things to Karl.
Stephen doesn't have to act like a complete asshole bully to point out the flaws in Karl's stories.
Ricky's a dick. Full Stop.

Spot on, the comments do my head in. Karls not as dumb as he makes out to be, their all playing on it for comedic effect. I dont think the shows scripted but they know whats funny and run with it. Cant get enough of these 3, wish they were back on radio. :)

I completely agree. Sick of people calling Gervais a genius or even clever in any way. He clearly likes to think that. But at least 50 % of his materiel is from Karl.
