Is this radio the same size as a cobra 29? Also, do u like it more than the Connex 33hpc1?

Hi Question, I noticed the metal plate that covers the finals is not on other unboxing/tuning videos on TH-cam. Was that something that only came on certain versions of the radio or perhaps the first batch of the 39VHP? Thanks!
