Italian designers have long excelled at sculpting seductive shapes for automobiles. All of these Spyders from the 1950s and 1960s have personality and are attractive to almost everyone. Many of them, when parked next to new exotics, seem to display a confidence in their timeless appeal.
The NART Spider is the most beautiful Ferrari ever made. The first one (far right) was finished in Giallo Solare and the second one in Giallo Fly. They are the only NART Spiders with a full aluminium body.
The Giallo Solare car #09437 was the NART Spyder Ferrari campaigned at Sebring and was driven by Denise McCluggage & Pinkie Rollo . Later it was painted Corvette Marlboro Maroon and used in the original 1968 movie “The Thomas Crown Affair” starring Steve McQueen where the NART Spyder is portrayed as McQueen’s driver and shown with Faye Dunaway sitting in the car filming McQueen who is at the time playing polo. Following the film production use, #09437 is returned to US Ferrari Distributor Luigi Chinetti and then is sold in October 1967 to furniture manufacturer & well-known Ferrari collector Norman Silver of High Point, NC where it resided in Silver’s collection for almost 20 years before being sold to Jacksonville, FL grocery magnate (Winn-Dixie) Dan Davis.
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in EU :-( In Germany the Green party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one station per city. :-(
Thanks for your great work respect great content I’m impressed
