The locomotive shop turned out really great. The shingles and cement floor were nice finishing touch to it. That's a Lot of wood shingles to put on but it makes it more realistic. To bad it sets up so high so you can't see all the fantastic details that you both did. Be safe and thanks for sharing your building and modeling tips. I got a few ideas from it that I can use on my layout.👍🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂
Truly amazing and what a wonderful finishing to the shed!! That many wood shingles would drive me crazy putting them on. Thank you so much for showing all of the steps! Always look forward to seeing your next show. Can’t wait to see the horse and cowboy scene. Be safe and see you Tuesday.
Finished the depot today. Well no paint.. but the building is done. And Steve brought over the water tank. Mostly done as well. Sunday we start on that new area.
The engine house came out awesome! The roof looks great and the floor came out nice. You could put an over turned oil barrel and a guy there at the oil slick on the floor like he had an accident. Maybe? Looks great anyway. Stay well. -Wil 👍
The roof makes me think of I-Hop and Nickerson Farms from days gone by! Which thinking of those cool old building makes me happy! Great job you two! Have a great day! xo Lisa
The engine house looks great, well done. The wood burning technique is something I would never have thought of. The electric box is fantastic and operational that is so cool. I look forward to seeing engines run into and out of the engine house.
Dale and Karyn, You two are true Craftsmen and Craftswomen !!! Karyn your bikes were Wonderful!!! My brother use to build them like that in the 70's full of lights that ran of battery that he mounted under the banana seat. If God is willing Dale I hope to see you and Karyn at 2023 Narrow Gauge Convention here in Denver Colorado. I'm trying to decide whether to build a G scale or On30 Modular layout of my R&P Lumber Co layout to bring to the convention.
NICE VIDEO AND JOB IT LOOKS GREAT AND IT IS PERFECT VERY INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO I ENJOYED IT THANK YOU GREAT PROJECT I AM THRILLED FOR YOU BOTH AGAIN GREAT MODERS. I AM IMPRESSED BY YOUR WORK. JIM KAMMERER OF PHILADELPHIA PA 😷😷👍👍👍👌👌👌
🤔🤔🤔 spider webs 🕸 in the rafters…but only if you have an idle moment if say supplies for some other project are held up. The realism of the detail is awe inspiring.
More great details that look fantastic. Maybe I being too critical but it seems there should be some flashing on that smoke vent through the roof. The rain storm that washes down the soot will come right through the roof. Old timers used lead or copper sheets.
Beautiful job! The power company meter reader is going to report the logging railroad to the electrical inspector though. No way that meter is at code height. He’d have to have a ladder to read the meter!
Dale, Karyn, Really neat! As you would say. For myself, I am about to cut and stick dentiles onto the frieze on the parapet of the viaduct I'm working on. They will be 2mm wide and 3mm high, 0.5mm thick. I only have to cut enough to do both sides of this 1200mm section!😮. N scale for nitty! Really enjoying the terrain and textures you are creating. Karyn's fixtures and fittings are super. Regards Stephen.
Good morning! I'm loving how your project is coming along. Some of the techniques that you use are just simply amazing. The horse and cowboy hanging from the rope had definitely caught my attention. Thanks for another great video!
You know I just love your work. I was wondering though, why you didn't put any flashing around the smoke stack-Roof junction. The old Lead Toothpaste tubes or Aluminum foil would work great for it. Ron Stueck.....
Yes! Not soon though. First we need to finish the structures up here and the scenery. And then back to the engine shop on the colorado line. And the roundhouse and turntable there.
As you say, every picture tells a story. Great building and wonderful work you have done. Looking at the soot that you "rained" down the roof around the chimney, got me to think about how old are you modeling the building to be? If you have soot rained down at the chimney, wouldn't you have a hint of rust along the metal roof cap? I guess the question is , shouldn't the roof be given more hint of weathering?
I’m keeping this building sort on “new”. Or newish? I like to really mix it up. Some stuff mostly wrecked, some new. But mostly light or lighter weather.
hi guys. As usual a great job with excellent instructions as you go along. You mentioned the wooden shingles came from the/a doll house supply. Was this company in Novato, CA? The reason I ask is The Doll House in Novato no longer is in business as of a year and a half or so ago. And we modelers in the area are still in mourning. If it's not the same oiutfit I'd like to know just who and where. Thanks as always.
It looks like you shrunk down a real building. I know what it takes to do roof shingles. My daughters wood doll house has 3 thousand of them. My wife and daughter emptied out 4 craft houses in our area to get me enough. 25 years later my daughter still has her doll house.
Inspection pit. With the talent of you and your wife, I bet you could just paint a 3D picture on the black to give it realism. Just like they do to sidewalks making 3D images to fool people.
You and your wife are the masters of model making. Really great video.
Hi. And thanks 🙏

Hi. Thanks. Sunday we start on the next section, Angels Camp and Strebel Springs.
AWESOME GOOD VIDEO VERY INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE THANK YOU AGAIN.
Working and building the railroad is the most enjoyable part. 😉. You will never be completely finished. Wonderful work guys!
I love building. I like running the trains, for a minute. Than building again!
Great job guys!
That turned out wonderful you did an outstanding job definitely a two thumbs up 👍👍
Hi. Thanks 🙏
Ohhh, those roof shingles require patience but sure turned out nice!
Just put on 800 more! On the depot!
Nice job Dale
The locomotive shop is a wonderfully interesting build.
Thanks. On to the next section. Working on the depot first.

Hum... one thing missing is figures. Need many.
Great job love the concrete work. You guys do awesome work. Have a great weekend guys. Thanks for sharing.
It really came out nice! So detailed and I love the lighting. 👍

Very nice engine house. Well done.

Hi. Thanks!!! Stay safe. The end is near. Well that came off wrong..
@@ToyManTelevision It may be, unfortunately. Ugh!
Thanks.another great vid

It’s running now. Sunday we move on to Strebel Springs and wire everything.
Excellent stuff, Mr. Man!
Thanks 🙏
Spectacular job Brother

We are planning to be there! Hope there isn’t another pandemic or anything. Geez.
What a great job...and a lot of work! Have a great Easter week you two!
What a fantastic looking building. Karyn, I'm doing electrical today. Just got my Chevrolet Bolt and the 240v charger is getting wired and mounted.
Very beautiful engine shop

amazing details to the shop
Hi thanks
Looks fantastic
Thanks
Nice. For some reason I love modelling concrete. Great job. Love that electrical work too.
I’m going to try a REAL CONCRETE FLOOR in the lantern shop. Hope it works
@@ToyManTelevision it should work since it is concrete. I found that spackle works well also
beautiful,very well done
Thanks 🙏
Now thats a logging engine house
It’s a great railroad! Well a fun build!
@@ToyManTelevision at least you and your veiwers are enjoying it
what you need on those oil spills is saw dust like railroad cleaned up spills!
I was thinking of oily foot prints!
Looks amazing
Great job. Very impressive. Your attention to detail is impressive.
Hi Ken. Thanks!!!!
@@ToyManTelevision Hope all is well with you guys.
Great job Dale! Lots of fine detail on the shop, but every one makes it all the better. Brilliant job on the cement floor!
Hi. My mom would have killed me if I did that to the floor. But I’m old. So I just didn’t d it!
Beautiful building, the roof was literally the crowning touch.
Thanks!!!
More great details that look fantastic. Maybe I being too critical but it seems there should be some flashing on that smoke vent through the roof. The rain storm that washes down the soot will come right through the roof. Old timers used lead or copper sheets.

The power company meter reader is going to report the logging railroad to the electrical inspector though. No way that meter is at code height. He’d have to have a ladder to read the meter!
Either a ladder or a very tall meter reader. I suggested the electric company hired A basketball team for meter readers! :-)
Ladder. Bears. Big brown bears.

Wow!!! Hope you have great eyes and a magnifier. I figure if I can see it I can make it work somehow.

You need a shop cat.
But this is amazing.
Yea!
Awesome job guys! looking good! Cant wait to see the next project
Thx again. See the comments on the meter readers.☺
Yes Karyn wanted it high up as that’s how the industrial buildings in Sanpete were. And in this case not kids messing with it. I think bears.
Looking great, does the roof need gutters and drain pipes?
Maybe they didn't use them back then? IDK?
Thought about that. But I’m thinking it’s a logging railroad. They don’t need no stinking gutters.
You know I just love your work. I was wondering though, why you didn't put any flashing around the smoke stack-Roof junction. The old Lead Toothpaste tubes or Aluminum foil would work great for it.
Ron Stueck.....
Thought about that. Wasn’t sure what to do
Think karyn is going to do that.. thanks.
Foot prints great and have a a person almost falling down but not completely down.
maybe they might regain there balance.
I don't want any hurt !
Will there be any more track laying videos? I really enjoy seeing the process of hand laying rails

@@ToyManTelevision Of course, duh, They had to replace the ridge cap. Keep up the great work.
Love what you have done but need to ask where the chimney for the pot belly coming out of roof.
On the back wall. Note the elbow. So on the other side of the backdrop. Hum.. perhaps we should paint it there!! Hum..
Nice job! Ah, were the Altoids (can seen at right) possibly for any work heartburn related work stress? But, again, very nice look on the roof.
Believe it or not that’s Karyn’s new layout. In the tin. It’s sort of small.
"Not too much haphazardness" - now there's a slogan for the channel! ;-)
That and almost never boring

No bird droppings along the top?
Not here. But just down the track?
I spotted your ties misaligned in front of the door. will you be doing a Easter Sunday special next Sunday?
Hi. Not sure on Easter. Yes I set those sooo wrong 😑. But the rails went down so I figured what the heck. I can hide it when I ballast.
@@ToyManTelevision ok. Good luck!
You’ll have to mount a small camera inside that shed. 🚂🤔
Or drive one in.. but yes!!
What kind of glue did you used on the shingles?
Good old Elmer’s!

The Zen of shingles! One - two - threeee- one thousand - one thousand one - and so on... but it’s relaxing 😌. And looks great!
well now the ground around the building than it is finished :)
First all the structures. Wiring... Then ballast and scenery. Then trees! Backdrop and DONE. ish...
