Beautiful music to my ears.
I remember years ago when the route that I lived off of used to have sce&g bus 3201 running on that same route everyday. It had the 8v71 engine, just like the bus in this video.Thanks for uploading these videos.
Thanks when i started to recording many of these buses i never thought that these engines were gonna start disappearing it wasn't until the Series 60 and 50 engines started showing up that reality hit and it finally hit me that the two cycle Detroits were gonna be gone soon.It took me a couple of years and finally got used to the sounds of the Series 50 engines now they are begining to disappear too.
I Remember These Like If It Was Yesterday. When It Was Called "Metro Bus" With The Green & Light Bluish Green Stripes Diagonally
I think I remember houston metro having these type of busses as a young child. I'm not a fan of rts buses but there engines sound amazing especially the 6v92ta. Houston metro bus ikarus had a few of the 6v92ta LNG engines in there buses in the mid 90's.
@kmothersil Thanks i didn't think it was gonna come out this good since this was recorded on the summer of 1989 and the a/c was running high.
Once again another awesome video. :)
@david123321ism You 're welcome glad you enjoy it.
I didn't know MDT had baby RTS buses
These were owned by Greyhound and used on some of MDT routes . I only saw three of them . P41,P42 and P43 . They were 35 footers and had brown interior something similar to the BCT's RTS's
I don't think an RTS needs a whole 8 cylinders, jesus.
Let alone a short RTS.
@MAR1NAB5180
It came out well.
So this was a Greyhound bus? Can you please provide some information.
Yes they had 40 lease 1980 GMC RTS II buses from MDT 1220-1259. Along with those 40 buses, Greyhound Bus Lines bought 3 1979 GMC RTS buses around 1989 and had these numbers, P41 , P42 and P43 mostly used on route 29. I suspect those three buses were ex Key West Transit. When you get a chance , go to this page #miamidadetransit.com/rtspage.html and you can see how Greyhound came into the scene.
