Let me share my experience. I was an international student of Florida state university where I met a couple of Pakistani international students as well. We had an international coffee hour session including all students of other countries. There was a day when a Spanish person asked about Pakistan and Bangladesh history. That time, a Pakistani student was explaining 1971 war as a civil war. I intervained and argued that it was not any civil war rather a full fledged war which was the results of Pakistani rulers mistreatment to Bangladeshis. He was reluctant to agree upon that. He was rather stubborn on civil war where there was not enough reason to get into the war. From that day, I am very skeptical about Pakistani new generations as well.

I am watching this video from my father in law's house and he was a child then when he lost his father 1971 by pak army. Every time I meet him he talks about how hard it was for them to handle those situations. It's tough really tough they can't forgive Pakistani and so we.
Problem with Pakistan is, Very small percent of the population understands their leaders mistreatment of Bengali people. Rest of them are whitewashed by the biased history education they were taught. Few would explore beyond the books for the real stories, some politicians who have known this were actively suppressed by the army / national leadership. The girl said it right. We Bangladeshi people want to accept Pakistanis and also want to be friends. But there is still a wound in our hearts. Almost every family lost their relative in 1971. Pakistan's academic books teach kids wrong history. To be honest, the violence that Pakistanis have done in Bangladesh in 1971 is unbelievable. Even today we have not been able to recover the loss that was done to us. Even after all these years of war, no official statement from the government of Pakistan has expressed regret for the damage. If it was done, maybe the situation would be better. However, we love and respect the new generation of Pakistan.

It wasn’t the fault of the people of Pakistan as a whole. Number of bad decisions by the Government and internal discriminatory acts led to this. You see when you focus too much on prioritising one thing over the other, disagreements are bound to happen. Giving a state it's autonomy isn’t much of a big deal. But the authorities were such hell bound control freaks that they decided to conduct a military operation. Mistakes after mistakes came in waves. There were no established respect for the Bengalis in Pakistan. I mean, a population of 7 crore people can't be forced forever. They miscalculated everything on the go. They misread our call for justice to be a call for freedom and breakaway. Which wasn't in the discussion before 26th of March 1971. The hate towards us was visible. My Grandfather worked as an Engineer in Karachi and he left everything behind to be with his family here in Bangladesh. He said, "I f I have to die, I will die in my motherland." He had a big house and a lot of wealth over there but he didn’t care. Took his family, packed everything and came back where he belonged. That's what they got wrong about us Bengalis in the first place, the differences weren’t respected. Heck, even the Bengali Language is aeons older than Urdu and Bengali culture is precious, and it was about to be wiped out in the name of unification. It doesn’t work that way. Our people may not be the best of warriors, but they are brave and much more intelligent.
Conclusion- Bangadeshis are exaggerating 1971 events. Since all nation exaggerate their history so lets sit together & forget past to build a common future. I think, above conclusion by these people shows a typical pakistani mindset of consistent denial of 1971 genocide. I am watching this video from my father in law's house and he was a child then when he lost his father 1971 by pak army. Every time I meet him he talks about how hard it was for them to handle those situations. It's tough really tough they can't forgive Pakistani and so we.
Problem with Pakistan is, Very small percent of the population understands their leaders mistreatment of Bengali people. Rest of them are whitewashed by the biased history education they were taught. Few would explore beyond the books for the real stories, some politicians who have known this were actively suppressed by the army / national leadership. It wasn’t the fault of the people of Pakistan as a whole. Number of bad decisions by the Government and internal discriminatory acts led to this. You see when you focus too much on prioritising one thing over the other, disagreements are bound to happen. Giving a state it's autonomy isn’t much of a big deal. But the authorities were such hell bound control freaks that they decided to conduct a military operation. Mistakes after mistakes came in waves. There were no established respect for the Bengalis in Pakistan. I mean, a population of 7 crore people can't be forced forever. They miscalculated everything on the go. They misread our call for justice to be a call for freedom and breakaway. Which wasn't in the discussion before 26th of March 1971. The hate towards us was visible. My Grandfather worked as an Engineer in Karachi and he left everything behind to be with his family here in Bangladesh. He said, "I f I have to die, I will die in my motherland." He had a big house and a lot of wealth over there but he didn’t care. Took his family, packed everything and came back where he belonged. That's what they got wrong about us Bengalis in the first place, the differences weren’t respected. Heck, even the Bengali Language is aeons older than Urdu and Bengali culture is precious, and it was about to be wiped out in the name of unification. It doesn’t work that way. Our people may not be the best of warriors, but they are brave and much more intelligent.
Conclusion- Bangadeshis are exaggerating 1971 events. Since all nation exaggerate their history so lets sit together & forget past to build a common future.
