Nothing better than waking up to a Just a Few Acres Farm with a cup of coffee
Every Time he post, Im here!
I can't agree more. Only for myself it's a cup of tea!
So thankful for Just A Few Acres
Pete, I almost enjoyed this video even more for how casual and raw it felt! We as your main viewers literally don’t care what you post. We are here for you and your wonderful family you have created. We are here to watch your mundane chores and activities that you probably don’t think are interesting. We seriously love you for you!
Here here
The fact that within 45 minutes of posting you have over 1500 likes says everything about the great content you share. Including the dad jokes 😉😉😉
Just watched this video, and he has 14,450 views and over 4k likes. Yep, Pete has a great channel. I love watching his videos.
Barberry bushes
No, not including the Dad jokes - we could really do without those.
As we age, I think we get smarter and realize what makes us happier. Way to go.
When does that happen? I am in search of ...
Yes, and then you get too old to do what makes you happy 😢
If that purplish bush has thorns on it it's probably Barberry
Yes! Thank you, that's it!
@@JustaFewAcresFarm if it has thorns on it is a BERBERIS BUSH, although in Ireland they don't have as much green underneath the red foliage.
@@JustaFewAcresFarm I thought barberry as well although I don't recall you saying it is deciduous. Which it is. This is the purple-leaved cultivar. The species itself is green, and that's what you are seeing down inside of the bush, it's natural coloration.
Your closing comments are spot on. It's what each of us experience throughout our lives. Raising the family, paying the mortgage, work, work and more work until we realize that the kids are grown and the mortgage is paid. Then it's just your mate and you. Time to get back to the things, as you said, fulfill us. Contentment is the key to a happy retirement I believe.
Contentment is a wonderful feeling. And doing the things one loves/enjoys is where it’s found. Thank you Pete and Hillary. ❤
18,000 people viewing your videos in the first two hours speaks well of the desire to see your content.
Sometimes I feel like I am right there with you Pete. Glad to see everything is going great @ your farm.
Hi Pete, I believe you are right. Someone asked me yesterday what I do for fun, after a moment of contemplation I said "Nothing in particular, I just enjoy life on the farm." Being content is far more fulfilling than "doing" things for fun.
your wife's an angle, what a God send, never ending chores, thank you for feeding us
Like, acute or more of a right angle?
Hopefully, she's not an obtuse angle...
Lmao
120 degrees
She;s a right angle for sure. Right on!
That is cool. The cows are comfortable around you therefore the calves are relaxed around you.
I'm of the opinion that landscaping is part of farming.
Thank you Pete.
Pete has a great relationship with his herd. I wonder if he has ticks in his region. I get covered in them when I walk through our fields and pretty much everywhere else too.
Pete just want to thank you for what you’ve done! It’s inspired and driven me to start my own farm!
Prayer, coffee and watching Just a Few Acres. Thank you for continuing to share your content with us. ❤
Glad to see the newborn calves doing well.
Hillarie has a smile that makes the garden light up😊 I really enjoy watching you guys work together…wonderful partnership!
Pete, this was always my favorite time of year, calving season. Seeing the babies run around is very rewarding. Keep bringing the joy to all of us. Thank you!
Came here on a suggestion from other farm video enthusiasts... Wow! This is just what my soul needed. And now I'll have a wonderful time catching up on all your previous videos, I really look forward to that.
Thank you for your videos, and thank you for creating a little slice of peace for so many of us!
Love the gardening content &, of course, baby cows….and the “think piece.” Thanks for sharing your day with another great video!
The scent of lilacs always takes me back to my grandparents small farm. Grandma had a big lilac outside the back door of the farmhouse and we used to play out there. Thank you for stopping to smell the flowers, Pete, you took me back. 🙂
I love watching your day. I love the cows, but I'm also glad to see you and Hillary doing other things you enjoy, like gardening. Please, enjoy your life, and hopefully you'll bring us along for the ride.
Thank you Pete for saying the fence was off when Sally's calf was stumbling through the wires. 😲
I am glad your calves are coming in healthy. Keep posting, it brings back good memories.
I vicariously participate in your daily farm duties with every post. Makes me happy.💯😎🤙🏽
I liked the bench talk with Pete and Hillarie.
Getting to see the new borns with mamas almost made me cry for some reason. It’s just so dear, the circle of life. We’re aging along with you Pete and Hilarie. Needs and demands change and hopefully we’re able to enjoy a slower pace, more of the things that bring joy (and not iust $$), and the balance you describe. Love being your neighbor, even if it is only thru the lens on my computer. Have a great day yourself.
Great part of spring watching for the New births on the farm !!!
Peaceful, relaxing, no stress kinda day...
"T"-shirt : "I wonder if my tractor is thinking about me, too?"
What else can I say. Pete, thanks. You are a breath of fresh air.
Awesome video Pete! Yes that is all part of owning a farm. Taking pride in your property by making it look nice says alot about the owners and you feel good looking back at your finished work! Thanks!
Making people happy brings satisfaction to life. Thanks for the wholesome content Pete.
Pete you and your wife have earned every good thing that you love in your life. Enjoy them while you can.
Character and reputation are built on quality over quantity. Doing every task very well, is good for the soul.
Maybe not as much for the sore hands, and knotted my back, that ol' trick knee doesn't like the ladder anymore, have you seen my glasses? LOL
Good content is hard to make week after week. I enjoyed it.
Thanks for sharing, Pete & Hill ❤
I like to hit that like button before I watch the video because I know It'll be another good one👍
Congratulations to you and Hillary on the birth of the new babies!! It’s nice to see some new-to-us areas getting spruced up!! Your home and farm are so beautiful! 👍🏻❤️🥳
Thank you Sandra!
i think this was a great video! I am almost 70 done with managing work and taking care of the house + small garden. Without my hubby helping..He is in love with his recliner at 77. I am trying to make chicken soup today, cook down some high-bush cranberries from Wisconsin and 2 loads of laundry. That's enough., The rest will have to wait!.
Congratulations Pete and Hillary, they are so very beutiful.
The calves are more than gorgeous
Great to see some of the calves have finally dropped, and they're healthy!
Dear Pete and Hilario, Contentment comes from watching your videos and savoring your daily victories ! Congrats on four new members of the herd, more to follow- ❤🎉
I have never forgotten what our Minister said about my grandfather after he passed away. He said the thing he remembered most about him was that he was so contented with his station in life. I have tried to be the same way and have found it to be a very comfortable position.
Lilac bushes are a favorite, a lot of memories in my Ohio childhood~ Congratulations on your new calves, a joy to see your cattle on beautiful green pastures!
Hey just wanted to say that your channel has been helping us with our farm immensely thank you for your dedication to this channel and making videos in light of all the “haters”.
Hey Pete, yes, 100 percent would agree that being content in a current state of mind allows for much clearer minds and thoughts and overall calmness to the daily life. Once a person has reached that point of contentment, time can seem to slow a bit, so yeah agree with that statement! Also the lilac bushes are fantastic, we have a bunch in my area as well, too bad they don't bloom long enough, but they always back the next season! Enjoyed the content good sir! Hillary and yourself are great!! See ya next time!
You can’t beat a morning video of Pete’s
Contentment……I couldn’t agree more. We have been retired from the business of business for 8 years now. Before retiring we bought our small house in the southern PNW at the ocean. We garden and putter around on our own time. We are truly in the happiest and the most content phase of our lives. We left the
“KINGDOM OF THING-DOM” far behind and live with far less stress and stuff. Thank you for always bringing a sense of peace and solitude to us. Bless you and the family.
I let out a gasp when I saw the compost spilling at 12:31! Then I remembered you make tons of compost and then I was just a little jealous of your riches. With no livestock I have to buy compost. Grrr. The bovines look happy and contented. The yard and garden look cleaner and will be more content. Now it's time for you and Hillary to take your turn at the contentment you provide for the other parts of your life. Knowing what makes you happy is terrific. Especially when you find it right outside your own back door.
I'd love to see more gardening and beautifying the premises in your videos if you happened to do such work in the future.
Nice video Pete, Hilary. Different times in our lives requires different paces of life. Thanks for the video. Have a great week.
it's so nice to see real free range grass fed cows these days it is very hard to trust food sources so seeing you looking after your cattle and selling there meat it nice to watch
Thanks for the video.
There's a guy in Georgia who purchased farm land and house that was originally in his family many years ago. Once it was abandoned, the wisteria and privet went nuts and turned the place into a jungle you could hardly see through. He has been fighting it ever since. I never knew wisteria could grow so much. Some of the branches that went up trees there actually are 4-5+ inches in diameter. I have always loved pruning things.
I love the feeling I'm left with after your videos. I'm so relaxed and peaceful afterwards. Taking time to smell the flowers is definitely definitely worth it. Thanks for sharing your day and I'll see you later.
I love being able to hear the tall grass being ripped by the massive cows. The calves are so cute and wish you the most luck during this early summertime.
Nothing healthier than a pasture newborn calf. Makes you feel good and proud as well huh Pete ?
Pete and Hillary, you two are so well matched ! The love of the farm life is strong and you think alike together. The satisfaction together is heartwarming. Love seeing the new calves. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Contentment is a good thing, product of being happy.
Good morning, Hilarie and Pete! You have a great day as well.
I believe that red bush is bayberry. Love this time of year working in the yard and enjoy watching you working yours. Thank You for bringing us along. Congrats Tulip, Dolly & Patty…beautiful calves! Cheers!
Thanks Pete. Your closing thoughts definitely hit home. Its hard to not feel behind all the time. Sometimes you just need to sit back and enjoy
Another home run video. Thanks Pete and Hillary.
What beautiful animals.
Pete and Hillary, u'all did a great job cleaning-up ur back garden areas. congrats on the 4 calves.
hi Pete, I know you guys work hard, but ya'll are blessed and I hope life just keeps getting better for you
Life on a farm is not just animals. House and yard maintained too. Every thing is as important as the next. Thank you for sharing.
Like this video with the baby’s and lush green grass..I watch a ton of garden videos so I would love a lot of your update as you both bring back what you love to do! My hope is you would make millions..All the Best!
It’s fun watching the youngins find there way around.
Senior years are where we go from trying to 'make it" to maintaining and enjoying what we have made. Contentment? Yup! I was a late starter. Still building, but the dreams, though changed, are coming true.
Keep It up, you will het make it!
I do miss seeing the baby piggy's being born. I understand tho. Contentment is a good thing.
What a beautiful day with the clouds and all the birds chirping. Great video. Cant wait til hay cutting
The weather and foliage remind me of my grandparents in upper Michigan lilac was my grandma’s favorite. Both have passed and not forgotten.love ❤
Hi Pete! When you brought out the husky I thought, here we go, my kind of gardening. Lol. Cut them off. I know very little to nothing about flower gardens. Your cows are spitting out some fine calves. Love seeing the little fellers. Have a good rest of your day.
Congratulation on your new baby calves, I enjoy seeing them run around excited about your new flower bed to see how it turns out you have a lovely place Pete and Hillary.
These things you have described don't always come at once...most times they come in no particular order or sense. Appreciation however, comes in unexpected moments when these show up with no intention. Thank you for sharing your moments....
Happy Cows in the field is always great.
Looking great mate hope it all works well with your cows and there new ones all the best to you and your family and your friends
...please take this advice...Don't ever change who you are or what you do... love y'all...🤓❤...
GREAT VIDEO!
Awwww calves....and gardening. Top combo!!!!
Hey Pete, hello from central Ontario. I believe the bush that escapes your memory is a barberry. I remember planting those while working for a landscape company in between university semesters years back. Your videos have always brought me peace and I enjoy watching the ‘goings on’ at your farm. Thank you for giving us a window into your life
Ezra!😍🤩🥰❤️💜
Your new baby calves are beautiful!
I can relate to the frustration of watching a newborn trying to get its first meal. I've gotten a little better as I've gotten older, but still, I understand. I agree with you having calves at the time of year that you do, not too early. Not too late.
Hi Pete! I can’t wait to see all the trees and the flowers at your home!! Were the bench is beautiful!
Flower beds and trimmed bushes looks really nice. Good job folks.
Pete & Hillary it looks nice. Always feels good
Thank you Mr. Pete. I needed those words at the end. Thank you!
Your cows look very healthy. And your landscaping has good bones. I love the arbor and the walkways. Nice to see more of the house too. I think its interesting how small these older houses look compared to houses built today.
I could never quite pinpoint why I enjoy watching and listening to your channel but it just hit me today that for me you are like Fred Rogers for adults. Thanks for sharing your day with me!
Different video yes, but still a great video! Little things are great when you're happy and contented!
Nice to see the cows are calving, nice looking calves too.
I enjoy your videos. We raise a commercial herd of mostly black baldies and a few Herefords. We use Simmental bulls these days for ease of calving. We used to use Angus bulls. We raise wheat as a cash crop. We used to grow oats and barley but we don’t feed our calves anymore, we sell our calves in October depending on the market price. We make prairie hay and grow crested wheat grass for hay. We can only harvest hay every other year on a given field. Our precipitation is only an average of 14” including snow. Good luck this year.
Thanks Kenneth.
great stuff pete and hill!
You guys are the pearls of wisdom I wish I had growing up.❤
Have a good one, Hilary n Pete.👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
Enjoyed watching the new gardening and flower garden videos. It’s all park of the great life. Keep them coming. Hoping to see a shot of the pavers cleaned and the next trimming.
It’s always a good day on the farm for us! Thanks!!
Great video Pete! Always enjoy spending time with you and Hillary!

Hey Pete, to say we here in Jamaica love waking up to your videos is a huge understatement, we just can't get enough of you , Hilary and the farm. Blessed Love f3om our family to yours .
The cleanup looks great! Love the natural look of the bushes.
