- When gate checking your car seat or stroller, you are going to want to fill up that red gate check bag with additional baby items that you don't want to bring on the plane, or pay for in your checked luggage!

Gate agent here; Just keep in mind. This “hack” doesn’t work with American Airlines, you will be charger a baggage fee. When checking a car seat or stroller you can’t have additional items inside the travel bag. The agent will ask you to remove the items or a baggage fee will be collected.
Interesting…we’ve done it on all major airlines including AA…I would say just don’t abuse it and stuff it too the brim haha
I’ve done it with American Airlines but didn’t pack it full/heavy or anything. They didn’t ask to check so I guess it just depends!

I do this too (without being excessive) and have never ever had an issue. But I guess that’s a risk I’m fine taking.

This depends on the airline. JetBlue asked me to open the bag and check inside and charged me an extra check in because it had more than the stroller.

was that a Doona you used? I can't find a gate check back big enough for it plus the base
We bought a standard $10 bag off Amazon (shown in video) and it worked fine. BUT we didn’t travel with the base. So that might make it harder

If you have a connecting flight, will the car seat go all the way to the final destination or get dropped off after the first flight?
I would ask at the gate. Believe they can do what ever you wish. Some may want the stroller/items in between flights while others may want it to go all the way.
Now that my kids older i do this with out helmets & snacks. Strap to our carryon luggage & we're good

Can you tell me do these bags are provided by airlines or we have carry them separately. Do airlines accept stroller plus car seat?
Bags you bring on your own. We have ours linked in our Amazon storefront if you’re interested (cheap). But most airlines are different but many allow you to check both your stroller and car seat for free.
We love the j Childress black canvas stroller bag because it lasts forever and is HUGE! We can fit a stroller and TWO car seats inside! The red bags get shredded in just a flight or two.

Yes I think you can get a gate check tags here. But you can also check it for free, but we wait until the gate since we use it to transit thru the airport

How much did you put in it? We just did it four times in two weeks with no issue, on 3 different airlines.

Most airlines look inside the car seat case and make you remove the additional items.
Weird…been on 15+ flights this year and didn’t have it checked once.
