    very nice. I drove my XSR 2022 from Brno to Munich last week. 500 km off the highway. 7.5 hours. Everything great, beautiful trip. I drove an hour in the rain before Munich. that was not nice. nothing 4 refuel. at maximum speed it can go 40 km with a full tank 😀. my butt didn't hurt. but hip yes

      Yes, I got caught in the rain at night a few weeks back after about 480km and that was horrible, loving the bike though

    I thought people in New Zeeland rode bikes mostly on the alpine roads? But I can understand if you want to point A to B quick, then there are quicker roads to use. 800km in one day seems like a torture ride in my eyes. I ride motorcycle for pleasure, not as a means of transportation really. I took my xsr900-22 in a van cross sweden and to the south of Germany during summer .-22 to skip that flat boring part of a trip. Then I could start fresh next day and ride twisty alpine roads for 2 weeks. Rode about 250-350km each day. We dont have alpine roads in Sweden, and they are barely twisty either. I have a 30 min video of that trip and you will see what I mean. :)

      This was an event ride, the north island 800, not for commuting and definitely not direct a to b, this covered a big part of the North Island and is a distance challenge ride we tried for something a bit different to do. I think you may be surprised at the vast landscapes NZ has, not really any alpine roads in the North Island and although there is the southern alps in the South Island its relatively a small percentage of our roads here but they are great down there.

    Well done guys.
    Don't envy the last section in the dark.
    I think I first saw you in Te Awamutu on the Friday on your way down.
    I rode a Kawasaki ZR900 so the 2022 NI800 is easily doable on a naked sports bike.
    I got back at ~7.40pm
    This is my second NI800 and I always pace myself to get back before dark.
    In a few weeks I'll be doing the Hamilton 1000km ride ... on a Vespa scooter. 😂😂
    To be honest the 1K ride is a lot easier as it starts at 6.30am in the morning and gives you more daylight hours.
    Best of luck for next year 👍

    • @LindseyExplores
      @LindseyExplores  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do remember seeing a ZR900 somewhere about, I know I could have easily done it myself but I always had an eye in the mirror after twisties waiting for the honda rebel to catch up so we could continue. More daylight time would have made it easier, that last section in the dark was not great, but memorable.

    What's the maximum kilometers range you get in one full tank?

    • @LindseyExplores
      @LindseyExplores  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I consistently get 210km to when reserve kicks in but haven't taken it beyond 250km. I have a video coming soon where I keep going till it stops to really test it, should be out in a couple of weeks so keep an eye out.

    Seems like you need a partner or mate to travel long distance on the XSR, utilizing their bags for water and snacks?

    • @LindseyExplores
      @LindseyExplores  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do have my own bags and can actually fit quite alot but on day trips I just use her panniers since we don't have alot of combined items to take with us.

    looks awesome.
    How come you have your tank bag strap around your bar risers?
    Wouldnt it be better/safer around the steering head frame?

    • @LindseyExplores
      @LindseyExplores  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      honestly, never thought about where to attach it but will check that out now. Magnets are very strong for such a little bag.

    I did 500 km 6 hours with bike, and i stopped 2 times for 15 minutes...seating position and balance of the bike is amazing and super but seat is little bit hard, it could be little bit softer, after 500 km when i reachrd my target, i had a little pain just on my butt...but other parts of my body was ok...sittting position lean and sporty i am 188 cm and for taller guys its good seating position, really liked it.

    • @LindseyExplores
      @LindseyExplores  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was surprised how easy it was even up to the 8 hour mark and the seat was acceptable, not great, not bad but acceptable.

      Awesome bike! I saw the black version of the xsr900 unboxed a couple of days ago at Bayride, Taurangi. No doubt the new owner will be well pleased! I ride the xsr700 but look to upgrade to the 900. Great to see some kiwi content.

      @@warrensaunders766 It's a great bike that's for sure. I came from the xsr700 to this and was very nervous as I loved the 700 but I do not regret it at all! I hope to keep making regular content and give this youtube thing a good go.

    so how the bike handle on dirt road or like rock surface uneven surface road? and how was the seat on those long hours ride ? thinking about getting this bike in this few months

    • @LindseyExplores
      @LindseyExplores  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the brief moments I was on any unsealed road it handled like I would expect for sport bike tyres, it's ok but not it's natural place. The seat wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be, it was more the slight forward lean and leg position that caused any pain (knees and forearms only). I would do it again, in fact I am in about a month to try and do the distance in under 12 hours.

    Is this bike suitable for short riders like me. I am 5.5 feet height?

    • @LindseyExplores
      @LindseyExplores  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hard for me to say since I'm over 6ft. it's a pretty typical seat height compared to most motorcycles so unless your comparing it to a honda rebel or something else that is much more accommodating for someone shorter than me, I think it is probably going to be the same as most bikes out there.
