    Episode 75 Notes:
    The Events in between the Battle of Mu’tah and the Conquest of Makkah
    - Conquest of Dhat Al Salasil
    A few weeks after the Battle of Mu’tah, the Prophet SAW called Amr Ibn Al As RA and commanded him to take any army of 300 Muslims to fight the Banu Qudah tribe because they had helped the Ghassanids in the Battle of Mu’tah. The battle is called Salasil because it is named after the nearby pond that is called Salasil. Amr Ibn Al As RA took the army nearby to where the Banu Qudah were. But, he saw that, they were far to large in number and thus sent a messenger back to the Prophet SAW in order to request reinforcements.
    The Prophet SAW sent an additional army of 200 Muslims led by Abu Ubaidah Ibn Jarrah RA. Abu Ubaidah RA gave up leadership to Amr Ibn Al As RA, as the Prophet SAW had forewarned Abu Ubaidah RA, to ensure that both him and Amr RA agree when make decisions. Amr Ibn Al As RA organised the Muslim army and they all charged at the Banu Qudah who were taken completely be surprise, which caused them to flee. The Muslims won the battle without fighting and gained a lot of spoils.
    Fun Trivia fact: Abu Bakr RA and Umar RA were amongst the 200 Muslims that were led by Abu Ubaidah RA. This shows that in Islam, the more senior can be led by someone who isn’t at their level.
    Fun Trivia fact: Tayammum can replace both Ghusl and Wuhdu.
    Fun Trivia fact: Tayammum can be done even if you have water. One example of this would be if you can’t use water due to medical reasons.
    ==========================================================
    Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series:
    Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series.
    Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it.
    You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes.
    One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah.
    Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins during this blessed month and beyond! Ameen

    Allah says,
    "O you who have believed, when you go forth [to fight] in the cause of Allah, investigate; and do not say to one who gives you [a greeting of] peace "You are not a believer," aspiring for the goods of worldly life; for with Allah are many acquisitions. You [yourselves] were like that before; then Allah conferred His favor upon you, so investigate. Indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted."
    - SURAH AN-NISA: 94

    What a wisdom mashallah!! Preferring to have a man as your role model who lead prayers in the state of janaba. Wow what a choice!! So, yes there are some people who prefer to have those individuals as their guide for whom ayat of tatheer was revealed, and then there are some hopeless ones who choose to have a lowlife such as Amr bin Aas as their guide. No doubt, this cunning man had the audacity to recite a verse from the Quran infront of the Holy Prophet pbuh, (the owner of the book). This lowlife had this filth in him since the beginning. Only a person like him could strip himself naked in the field of Siffin to protect his life. He did the same here in this battle, not bathing because he was afraid to die out of cold. Curse of God be on the ones who did zulm with the pious family of the Holy Prophet pbuh

      Wacef Chowdhury Please refer to this answer for guidance on how to approach this problem: islamqa.info/en/201963.
      Also, remember the verse of Allaah in Soorah al-Baqarah: 'These are a people who have gone before you. They will receive the rewards for their actions, and you will receive the reward for yours; and you will not be called to account for their actions.'
      The Sahabah did what they did, and there's no reason to dwell on it or make comments about it that aren't beneficial.
      And Allaah knows best

    The 5 or 6/8 Al Hijra against Banu Quda is a case where we learn that
    leadership is not always by piety or religious knowledge.
    One of the universal things of every honest attempt at a biography of Muhammad says he was sincere; disbeliever or believer.
    There is no culture or religion that was pagan. It was an insult like unto racial slurs for non Christians.
    The difference in washing for prayer in the expedition of Dhat assalasil shows that personal opinion is essential in spiritual matters.
    The blood money payed as a result of Muhalim's killing a legal Muslim out of doubt of his actual Islam and the miracle of his body not staying in the ground is a lesson to all those who think they can decide who is Muslim and enforce it.
    The case of Abu `Ubaidah conceding to Amr bin Aas in leading the overall charge of the battle is a lesson to all that the unity of Islamic groups is more important.

    I can’t believe what I hear! I watched and listened to all of your videos in a period of one week. I was glued to my laptop for days in a race with time to finish all the videos. I was intrigued with the way you explained the seerah, no sugarcoating. I was born a Muslim, I am an Arab, and know the Quran and the Hadeeth firsthand without any translation. After 9/11, as most Muslims, I started learning my religion, ask questions, and listened to others asking questions. And after years of research, and (an up and down) journey with my religion a different picture started to emerge about Islam, Muslims, and the prophet Muhammad, an Image which I didn’t like. Then, I recalled a memory I had when I first learned about the battle of Badder in school. I was never comfortable with the idea of a moral prophet attacking a defenseless caravan. That sounded to me (at a young age) as robbery. During the years many scholars tried to justify the action of the prophet, but I never got over the idea that the prophet’s action was a robbery. I would like to thank you for confirming my suspicions about Islam, and the prophet of Islam. Time permit, I will be commenting (by video) about all of your videos. Muhammad was an Arab like all the Arabs, nothing is different about him. He only managed to convince his fellow Arabs that his actions were justified as sanctioned by Allah not the idols.

      How many Muslims were killed by Quraish in the 13 years of preaching Islam by the prophet? the answer is NONE. This is not an immense persecution as you described it. Yes the Muslims in Mecca were harassed and some were tortured, you can count them on your fingers or call them by name, that's how few were persecuted. And most of them were slaves, Quraish couldn't dare to torture free or noble men. And most of the followers of the prophet were poor and have no property of their own. So to say that the purpose of the raid was to take back what belonged to the Muslims from the first place is FALSE. The raid on the caravan was immoral and no prophet of God should get away with this immoral crime. The only reason you and others think it is justifiable is because was carried out by Muhammad. If anyone else carried out such raid you will for sure call him a highway robber. Only blind followers can convince themselves of such thing. For the next 9 years Mohammad raided many caravans and attacked many communities. The Arabs were known for raiding caravans and attacking each other. The only difference this time is the attacking and the raiding is done in the name of God, and justified by the prophet. Today ISIS use the same tactic as they rob businesses and banks to fund their violence.

      Think Now
      You are incorrect about there being no deaths during the Meccan era, and you have claimed to watched all the videos up until now and yet you do not remember the torture and the deaths of several sahaba by the hands of Quraish. Then you say that you can count the number of people persecuted on your fingertips - just how many muslims did you think were on the face of the Earth before Hijrah? The answer is most likely under 200 and no more than 500. The sahaba that were tortured were amongst the nobility as well as the slaves - they didn't touch other sub-tribes but persecuted their own, whipping them and doing the unthinkable. How can people residing within houses and having possessions of their own then not have property of their own - Abu Bakr himself spent in excess of 35000 dirhams for the freedom of slaves that were tortured.
      Now you question that how can a prophet of God Almighty possibly take part in battles then you must realise that Moses, prophets after him and undoubtedly, prophets before him, engaged in battles and warfare throughout history.
      Please do not claim such ignorance when you have not even paid attention to (as of this video) 96 hours of the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) - if you are truthful in the claim of watching it all within a week.

    • @Ohmz27
      @Ohmz27 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Think Now Some Muslims were tortured to death by Quraysh. You can sugarcoat the persecution as much as you want, but the fact is that a group of peaceful people were forced to live in lesser conditions, then were pushed out of their homes with threats of violence. What should a leader do when he and his subjects are put through this? Give everything up and surrender everything their oppressors point at? Muhammad (PBUH) and all his followers thrived because of Muhammad's leadership, and whatever ill treatment the Quraysh suffered at the hands of the Muslims, it was all either fully deserved, or to be expected. When the Meccans had power over the Muslims, the Meccans were oppressive, but the Muslims only pushed back after a very very long buffer time. When the Muslims gained the upperhand, there was no bloodshed. This is the perfect balance, it's the best way to do things. Peace and patience before pushing back, then mercy when you have the power. Like you said, caravan raids were not mega rare, after oppressing a people for so long then forcing them out of their homes, do you think the victims would act lovingly? If the Meccans didn't expect raids, i'd be very surprised.

    First, you are mistaken about the practice of infanticide. The burying of girls alive was NOT a common practice, if it was the Arab race would have disappeared of the face of the earth. Second, the fighting among tribes not only has continued and intensified during the prophet’s time but also was lead by the prophet himself and his followers. And the fighting even continued after the prophet’s death and is still going on in our present time. Any person with an open mind and a minimal study of history would see the obvious. But those who are blind follower will never see past their nose.
