i cant think of any other example where two such absolutely amazing vocalists compliment each others voices with out any ego trips or anything messing it all up. and i dont mean the song but every song where Cindy and Kate harmonize, it is one of the most beautiful sounds ive ever heard.
The Turtles.Howard Kaylan & Mark Volman.Besides all their own hits they sang backround for T.Rex, Frank Zappa,Alice Cooper,Springsteen,Blondie,Psychedelic Furs,John Lennon,The Ramones and Duran Duran to name but a few.
There are moments that occur in songwriting where gold is struck and a song is created that will continue to uplift and inspire for generations. This song is one of them.
This is the only B-52s song I like (really, I think it's great), and that's because the verses are actually sung and Schneider is reserved to what he does best (tamborining)!
@@carbrock.2854 I'm sure Fred is a great guy, and he definitely lends a certain uniqueness to the band, but his vocals are like nails on a chalkboard to me. 😬 The girls and the rest of the band are the real talent, and this song is a prime example.
11 years later and this is still boss. Kudos to them all for not playing this at the speed of cocaine like so many other bands do while playing live (thus killing all feel and groove).
This was the first album and first time touring since Cindy's brother(original B 52's guitar player) had died from AIDS. She didn't last long. After making the album and a little touring, she left the band for a few years. You can just see the hurt in her face.
a lot of these "80s songs" with great production like didnt always come off live as good as the record, but not this, this is a great live version, great live sound on this
Gloriously messy performance that I keep coming back to more than the official version. Out of the not main 52s: If I know Sara Lee is the bass in LBD that I can't take my eyes off and think that Sterling Campbell is the drummer cos I seen him with Bowie - then who is the other lead guy next to Keith?
Cindy is the knock out girl for me in all categories, she has the more appealing, but harder high harmozing parts in most songs, in looks with her long side draped pony tail, OR awesome looking in any hat, like the 'official' Channel Z video, who else could look that cute in any ordinary straw hat than Cindy, amazing. Pink hat in Love Shack video is also very becoming. Kate can keep her goofy wigs. Too bad they put on wieght after this early 90's period.Same for Siouxsie Sioux.
The harmonies are incredible! Two brilliant vocalists! Great musicians in the B52s
End ov chat xx

I would say abba are the only other example of two voices sounding perfect

Most bands are lucky to get one amazing singer... The B-52's had three.
Schneider's voice is pretty bad .
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 It isn't particularly great, but it made them who they are. It's a very defining aspect in their sound.
How true !!!!! I totally agree ❤️✌🏻

Back When MTV was All about The Music, Hit it Katie!😍
One of the best bands ever. Great vocal, lyrics, songwriting, playing the complete package.
I have literally loved this band for 45+ years. Way way way underrated. If you're a musician, you know what I'm saying.
Played at my mate FUN 4 ALL (funeral) 30yrz ago x cudnt agree more with us comment xxx
They sang this live in Central Park, New York on Earth Day in 1990. The city rocked that afternoon.
Kate has gotta be the cutest thing since polar bears! She does an amazing performance!
Love her vibe. Her arms have a mind of their own!!! Awesome!
she's a babe
@@fuckamericanidiot , certainly is.
Good lord, that explosive sound from the beginning. It's like shooting a gun before a race. It sets the pace for the rest of the song. B-52 is ageless

Wow -- these girls did a hell of a job here! Cindy rocked it! ...Cute little bass player too!
Sara Lee
I LOVE THIS GROUP SO MUCH...! They are the epitome of cool music.
To have seen the band live during this era would easily have been one of the most cherished memories of my life.
I've seen them 15 times and have tickets in August. I have cancer and have to see them once more.
Most upbeat song ever sang!
These golden voices don't need effects
I love the harmonies on this.
there voices are so beautiful i love them
Fred Schneider: The highest paid tambourine player in rock history.
dner75 *Liam Gallagher
He earned every penny
Bez?
Yes Cindy, She hits the high notes good.
She hits them WELL.
Kates eyes are insane! ❄ ice
I know Cindy is beautiful.. but Kate Pierson is insanely gorgeous.. I mean .. just unbelievable
Those screams at 3:57 & 4:03 just make this song so badass!
This is the B-52's as you had seen and heard back in the day live...
Sara Lee + Zachary Alford = A rhythm section I'd (almost) kill to play with!
Back when CD' s first came out in the 1989, this was the first album I bought on CD.....Cool day's back then except I lost it during Desert Storm....🤕
Nice tambourine playing, Fred...
Those girls can really sing together!

Cindy’s scream at the end just totally works for me! Yikes!
compare 1990 MTV to today and tell me we've made progress lol.
Those harmonies tho!
Adoro questa canzone
Awesome! love the B's!!!
I love you ❤ Amazing vocalists
This is the kind of song that could have been written for the Go Go's sung beautifully by Belinda Carlisle
But who would have harmonized with her?
Cindy, Cindy, Cindy........
kate kate kate
She's The Queen 💕💕💕lovely Cindy 💜
Love Cindy
I'm 63 and have had a major crush on Cindy since first time I saw them in '79. But yes, Kate too... :)
I love Cindy too
I Love You, Katie Pierson, Lead Singer of The B 52s

aaaawsome!!!!
why is it they are not inducted to the rock and roll hall of fame?
Fucking criminal that they haven't been inducted a lot of trash has!!
Luv!
aaaaaahhh back then when Autotune didn't exist. Small imperfections making music sooooooo real and enjoyable.
❤❤❤

Right. Sounds a bit different, but it's still good. Has an R.E.M. vibe to it.
About December of '89 or so, as a follow-up to their monster-hit "Loveshack, in the autumn of 1989. It was a top ten single too.
Kate's 42 here. Cute as can be!
Just 1 night with her
She wasn't 42 when she sang this in 1990 🙀
@@noobzrule Yeah, she was.
@@absentia1001 but she look 22
@@noobzrule No way, she looks at least 32
Yup, it's Kate. I thought girls couldn't' t do falsetto.Regardless, a unique and timeless vocal duet .
Very good!
Wow...
:)!
Nice song!!!
When they were still five members, the bass here is Sara Lee, they use a different bassist, and that drummer has been there so long.
Ouvindo em 2022 - Ubatuba, São Paulo - Brasil.
AGAIN KILLER HARMONIES!!! M.O'B
so. much. yes.
I think i agree!!!
a A final las mujeres triunfaron ¡
wildernesssssssssssssssssss...
Where is this kinda party now? Bummer!
ALL HAIL THE B52s 💜🤘🏾
Feeling inspired ? 4:35
Really seems now like a song that was recorded earlier in the 80s not at the tail end like it was. Either way it is classic ear candy.
1:35 message from the facebook...you got me...ahah
I don't get it.

I want a Subaru now...
“Foam” as in GA..?
Fred looks bored LOL
forget the singers. give me that bass player!
This takes me back, but also reminded me how gawd awful MTVs live sound mixing was and that is was common for the Oscars to have video flubs. LOL
Alie and Strickland...
Who ever mixed the mikes fkd up.. sounds great otherwise
Yeah,..Wayy too much reverb
USA
What, no sound check MTV!?!?! Holy cow, new sound man please!
Atlsantta?
Aren’t they “From”At
Lantw
Or maybe it's Kate?
Bass player ?
so there are 7 members of the band? Why do only 4 ever get credit?
The other three are touring musicians who don’t work in the studio. Sort of like a solo artist who has a touring band
ohhhh not oooh

Kate is singing the higher parts here lol
Cindy sounded great but Kate had an off night. Way off tune, especially on the higher notes. Great song nevertheless.
Sort of disappointing. I've heard much more in tune versions on later concert performances.
Back off the mike!!!!
You guys gay?
This sounds awful
I'm still glad it exists
Nice!
