Excited to see the bike coming along..... it might need that battery cable or harness upgrade you did on your 2001...... there a fella from Holland parting out a 2001 same famous color and he has some 2000 parts too as he showed me pics of the same rear cowling told him was looking at one in SC just had the passenger seat cover didn't have the plastic race cover. Still interested in yours and will email you soon..... I really enjoy your videos on the subject of Aprilia RSV Mille R...Will email you the fellas info parting out the 00+01 same color schemes
I'm getting rid of stuff so I can get my shop up and running. I have plenty of parts on eBay now for these bikes. Thank you though, this bike is road ready and this series is already done stay tuned for future episodes.
I have an SVX, clicked, clicked, clicked...changed ALL THE PARTS...still clicked. Put it in 5th gear, pushed it backward...Hit the button and guess what, it cranked over. Sounds so stupid, but drove me crazy. Had voltage drop at starter even (changed solenoid, battery, wire upgrade, starter, changed oil, check fluids) roller it backward and whalla. P.S. Did my own wire upgrade, with 3 foot of 6/4 SJ and heavy-duty terminals. Cost less than 25.00 for everything...no special tools and worked perfectly.
Yep this bike is running and on the road now. Stay tuned next episode I work it all out in the end. The whole bike episodes are already filmed and uploaded.
You gotta email me as I can't keep posting on TH-cam. Check vacuum lines to fuel regulator first. But I gotta know did you work on it. Was it running did it stop etc....
How did you end up getting it to turn over, mine is doing what yours done at the first part of the video - getting no life at all from the starter button.
Its more than likely the starter relay. As these bikes are aging and not being ridden people are experiencing alot of electrical and gas tank issues from the tank being plastic. Its hard to help you without a video or more info.
yep you'll kill the battery, melt the starter wiring, fry the relay, risk frying the starter motor also and then as the battery gets weaker the sprag will smash backwards and destroy itself.
Next thing to go will be the starter motor, you can’t keep turning them over for that length of time , good luck 👍🍀

Hello I have a 00 rsv mille and she starts but won't stay running. What do you think it may be?

Does trying to start the bike like that not damage the sprag clutch?
Good question. Not real sure but it does narrow down that the relaybis bad and the starter still worked and is still working.
