Simply the best guitar channel. I started guitar in 1990... I have been stuck in a dead end until I discovered Guitar Pilgrim! Fantastic courses. At last a guy who does not focus on speed, shredding or super complex scales. No nonsense. Thom made me rediscover (and love) the blues and rock again. There is never anything better than something that appears easy and straightforward. Thank you so much.
You and I started at about the same time and sounds like we progressed the same. I wish I had him for a teacher. I said I'm gonna start playing/learning/practicing for six months seriously and if I feel like it's not going anywhere I'm giving it up forever.

I love your videos. You are such a fantastic player that I find everything you do inspiring. Conversely, I know that with all the practice in the world I could never be anywhere near as good as you, which I find disheartening. As with other skills, there are people who have a natural ability to learn, whilst with the guitar, there are people like me who can learn all the notes and chords in a song but will never be able to sound like you. I call myself a mechanical player rather than a guitarist and at 69 years of age, I have hundreds of songs behind me but not one that I would be proud to play in front of an audience. Keep up the good work. I love your attitude to playing.
Another great video Thom. More useful tips than Eugene's trick bag! Another great lick is to play a note on the B string and then bend up to the same note on the G string. T-Bone Walker was an early pioneer of this technique but Chuck Berry and B.B. King used it too.
Thom, you are a ridiculously fantastic guitarist. I follow 100+ guitarists on youtube, and have been a player for decades. I love the way you play!! I keep asking myself if you are soooooo good because you play piano or some other reason that makes you want every note to have its glory (and I dont play piano, but piano seems to require more precision than guitar, at least the way I play). everything you do is done with such care and precision. the tone (from both hands), the method of attack of the notes, vibrato, pulloffs, hammer-ons, slides, bends, are all done with precision and a high level of skill. the SRV and Hendrix videos are AWESOME. neither of those guys could play their own music with the precision you bring, and that is not a slam on them, as I LOVE both of them, but I dont think they could play it a PURELY as you, but with emotion and not being stale. and somehow you do this all with such feeling in the music. The dynamic range of you playing a single note is mesmerizing. Keep putting out videos, you are an inspiration.
