- My apologies Springtrap, but I would rather not come closer and be stuffed in an animatronic suit. After months of waiting, we finally get to see the man behind the slaughter!
It's been so long since the last FNAF VHS episode! With the release of the first teaser for Battington's new FNAF VHS content, it was as good a time as any to do a proper series retrospective.
I've seen a lot of incredible designs for the the FNAF animatronics, but these are still my favorite I think. JR's is a close second, though it's hard to compare designs from FNAF games directly with scary FNAF videos like these.

Honestly that short tilted 'Meh' by MemeBear is pretty creepy
Honestly I think Badington’s VHS series is the best FNAF analog horror. The effects, the setting, the voice acting is perfect. I’m glad he’s branching off from the original, I felt like it’s ending was kind of rushed if not anti-climactic.

You know, I feel like these vhs tapes just help us to remember how horrifying the premise is. I think us fnaf fans often forget the horror of children being murdered and forced into robots to suffer. We become numb to the uncanny horror of such a scenario in the grand scheme of the franchise.

Agreed, i think one of the reasons why we forget how horrifying that idea is because of the visuals we have since they're usually pixels and the animatronics in my opinion could've looked better just like JR's and Battington's designs where they have wrinkles
I'll always love the fact that a Fazbear employee got his hands in spring Bonnie suit, felt the rotten scent coming of it, maybe even saw some flesh coming out of it and was like "what could go wrong?"
With Battingtons version of Springtrap I can sorta understand thinking it's a powered down animatronic but with the canon design you can literally see his guts coming out of the suit

To be fair, there was at least one instance where a prop body in a horror attraction was discovered to be an actual corpse, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. Plus, it's canon that these suits stunk to high heaven, so that could've easily been ignored.

FNAF as a whole never once terrified me.
Personally, I'm extremely terrified of animontronics. Have been since I was a child because of an incident I witnessed many years ago. Sadly, I can't remember what that was. I can only remember the way I felt looking at those singing robots on stage.
I never heard of "Battington" before, but seeing this... I'm excited and also terrified.
The entire time I was watching this, I felt a terrible chill run up and down my spine, my senses told me to run away as I watched the movements of these characters. The only one that didn't do it was Spring Trap and the puppet. Not sure why.
maybe just knowing springtrip and the puppet are from only a video game? i mean the others obviously aren't real either but you haven't associated them with a fake game for years like with the 2 fnaf ones you mentioned
You probably saw an animatronic break in some catastrophic way. An arm fall off or the head or they got stuck in a loop where the movements were jerky or something. For whatever reason stuff like that is super traumatic for a kid even if they understand the animatronic isn’t real.
the fact that these two creators of roughly the same thing can have a civil and adult conversation about not copying and such and being able to lift each other up is so sad. it’s not sad in that light, but it’s sad that game developers are better at taking criticism and are better at listening to opinions than most mainstream artists and actors/actresses. i loved both of these youtube channels and cannot wait to see more from both. hopefully we can see a collab in the future, but i’m not sure.

Remember kids. Without FNAF, we wouldn’t have content like the Battington tapes or FNAF VHS.

I've always loved the style of VHS videos in any form even if it's not related to fnaf. It's sure is good to have them back.
I wonder if in the future people will look back and wonder why we even thought those videos were scary, the same way we sometimes wonder if people were really afraid of Creepypastas or even old horror movies that looks really goofy and stupid nowadays

As much as I respect squimpus’ vhs tapes, battington showed us the remastered we didnt need, but are insanely grateful. Batting is my favourite analog horror and he is insane talent. Love the vids

While it's a shame that the whole entire controversy earlier this year happened, I'm glad Battington is back and now making completely original (as original as FNaF fan projects can be) stuff, and gosh dang, it is TERRIFYING
I'll always love squimpus' original version, especially the final one with springtrap, but i just love battington's designs and how his videos take different turns and yet follow the story squimpus laid out.
I'm glad squimpus is allowing them to continue and how far they've gone with their rendition of the story.
Squimpus didn’t give them permission to continue, in fact he flat out said he didn’t want Battington re-making any more of his videos. It’s part of the reason the new video goes in a completely new direction. As much as I’d like for Battington to be able to continue with the previous storyline, I say this could be a blessing in disguise.
Well, Squimpus isn't really _allowing them to continue._ Squimpus didn't make a _legal_ demand; they cant, their series uses Scott's IP. It's not like you can make a FNAF video with FNAF characters and sell it.
Battington simply _wouldn't_ remake another artist's work without their _blessing._ Now, Battington is moving forward but with original stuff that isn't based on Squimpus' tapes.

@@theftking Well, no actually. Squimpus DID “revoke permission” from from Battington, acting as if he did own the series. Thing is, this obvious power trip he was on, along with the rest of Squimpus’ whole reaction to the drama cemented him as a grade-A shithead who should just be ignored. Honestly, even though Battington was the one that nearly got cancelled, Squimpus is the one that should really be booted off of the internet permanently. I was half-hoping that Battington would continue the remakes anyway, just to show how much of a powerless twat Squimpus really is.

On the topic of this video, I couldn’t have said any of this better. It’s an amazingly horrifying series and I almost had a heart attack when I saw he uploaded a Fazbear Fright video and instantly knew we were gonna see the full Springtrap model from his Twitter.

I love battingtons version for many reasons, but as someone who got into actual animatronic history through fnaf, I’m impressed that in the first of his tapes, Freddy’s mech (real term for endoskeleton) is exactly what you would see in real life.
Can't wait to see this new FNAF 3 stuff. It really feels like springtrap is a real haunted house attraction and not something that fazbear fright's crew threw in last minute
Well he is something they threw in last minute they were just looking at Old Freddy's for whatever scraps they could throw in the exhibits and found the back room of the FNAF 1 location like isn't springtrap not in the first night of of FNAF 3 because they haven't found them yet

Any clip involving the fiberglass shell of our dejected Fredbear is my favorite, and unnerves me the most. Without a nose, it took me many rewatches to figure out who it was.

In my opinion, "Sound Response Check", "Nonexistent video", and "Pirate Cove Pre-Show" were the scariest ones.
Animatronics are supposed to give the _illusion_ that they're alive, meanwhile Chica has her eyes rolling to the back of her head while seeing more and more red in the eyes, indicating that she might actually _be_ alive in some way.
The tutorial for puting on the Springlock suit had me tensing up, because I thought the tape was gonna glitch, and show the Springlocks _peirce_ through the arm.
And in Pirate Cove Pre-Show, where the characters are stuffed with the kids, while still trying to do the show...
The way Battington pulled everything off is brilliant!

I always feel like springtrap should be more put together scrap trap and burn trap can be weathered and horrifying because you know they were actually looked for by people who wanted the corpse of Afton Henry and Michael wanted scrap trap to kill William and burn trap was there so that glitch trap could have his old corpse back but springtrap should be a bit more hidden you wonder why is this robot so heavy why does it feel kind of damp and then the mask opens and you see

Fact: in battingtons version of Pirate Cove Pre-Show, after the warning about discarding the tape just as the warning box disappears and you pause it just at the right time... what you will see is a very bloodied up version of Foxy just like the other 3

These tapes really reminded me of just how horrifying the springlock suits as a concept are. Regardless of their utilization in the games and lore, as a concept, it might be one of the scariest things in all of horror.
I’m excited it’s back! Battington has a great imagination, and though the original vhs series is grand, to shackle a vivid imagination to a completed series is the worst possible thing (for the creator, who shouldn’t, though he was inspired to do it to begin with)! Best for Battington to continue with his own ideas, it may take longer, but with new twists we’ll never see what comes next!
what's scary about the death of the guy in the spring bonnie suit in non-existant video is that I don't even think it's supposed to be afton. after we see the clip, charlie tells us the same thing happened to "your father" and she outright states that she's making this message for Michael. I think the guy that died in the clip was just an innocent employee

Then our narrator in the video must have mistaked the camcorder (during the next shot after the springlock failure) as a person running when during an earlier shot the same endoskeleton with the shell was in the same area lol.

@@RedRice94 watch the original video and if you look at the shot where the animatronic is out (ya know, the one with the happy birthday thing) then look at the shot after the springlock failure (basically employee dying) you will notice it's the same hallway and the animatronic came from the left HALLWAY. This means that the door in front of us was the old parts and service room before the FNAF 1 animatronics. However what remains unknown is the why the animatronic is coming from the left hallway when the parts n service door is in front of us.

I honestly thought that the guy running was going to save the guy screaming instead of escaping the building as an employee was suppose to help with spring lock failures, which hurts more since the spinglock victim was about to live but fear put an end to that hope, but hey just my thoughts.

You see, these Battington tapes just go to show how sacred the classic FNAF games are. The first four games told a very straight forward supernatural story about a disturbing secret. That secret being a child murder that occurred at a chain of family restaurants, but that's not all. The victims forever remain inside the animatronic performers and their spirits haunt them giving them "new life." It's practically a perverted messed up retelling of Pinocchio or Frankenstein and an overall horror story critique on American family restaurants and the unsupervised child safety that often occurs in those places.
Wow, you really put the words right in my mouth. Battington really is a creative and talented person.
His take on the fnaf vhs tapes really gave me the spooks! I'm glad that people other appreciate his work too.

I love the fact that when springtrap pulls up his mask, instead of just the top of the mask opening like it is solid metal, it acts like a spandex-like material, much like old mascot suits

I know this isn't exactly a new trend per-se but it's definitely interesting to see animated recreations of events from the "FNAF" games. Especially when they go into so much depth and detail like this. Some stay very close and faithful while others introduce their own little twists into the narrative. Honestly, it really does take me back to the general atmosphere of the first couple entries, back when things were so much simpler and relatively straightforward.
Aside from that, to go on somewhat of a tangent, I thought I was just hearing things but nope, you played Whisper of Hell (or Hell's Whisper) from "Disgaea 1" for most of the video. It's listed right there in the credits. I'm always kind of surprised to hear some tracks from niche IPs I'm familiar with just pop up in random videos I come across. Just kind of don't expect it ever. Either way, if it fits, it fits.

Notice at 6:05 there are golden ears next to Chica. That could mean William Afton was in the Spring Bonnie suit and somehow controlling chica. Therefore, she killed the little girl.

If you pause that section of that vid just right after the warning label you'll actually be able to see Foxy in the same condition as the other animatronics. Just thought I'd share that info.

Yes though I'd argue that if they are able to turn it into its own IP and sell it, it was never a fangame to begin with. It was at most a "FNAF-derivative" or "FNAF-inspired" game. Fangames _must_ use existing IP, by definition.

I love the flash game style for horror (If done like Battington) the stuff that are 2D are really well made and creepy like the five kids in the Pre Show video. I just love the style in general too and everything that was made in Blender are amazing.

12:56 slight (possible) correction: i believe the victim inside spring-bonnie is just a fredbear’s employee. The voice doesn’t sound all too similar to the Battington interpretation of Afton, and the text right before mentions that the footage happened “before your brother died”. Assuming the video is talking to Micheal, that would mean the brother is in reference to crying child and the Fredbear bite which obviously takes place years before Afton’s fate.

That seems to be the case yeah. I never even really considered the possibility because I assumed it was depicting the classic FNAF scene, but the puppet's dialogue makes more sense with it being some... _other_ springlock victim.

In the Pirates cove pre-show you missed a secret that I found which that secret is when the warning pop up goes away. As soon as the pop up goes a away, for a split second you can see that Foxy is now stuffed with the fourth missing dead kid.
