I found it easier to say Thank you in response to a compliment if I don't personalize it. So I began telling myself that I am just thanking the compliment giver for the kindness and initiative they have shown. That way, at the moment I am not assessing whether I deserve the compliment or not. And funnily...once I say Thank you...I end up feeling validated after all. :)

Wow! Unidimensional much. I understand that in the world of content creation, acting, and being fashion gworlies your compliments are a lot about how you're looking or whether your outfit is snatched, etc. And, that you often attribute the compliment to be a form of back-handed shade or the person (your sister) trying to steal the outfit etc. This seems like a very different world to me. As a successful lawyer, with intelligent, competent, independent female friends and siblings, I do not recall a time that I was awkward giving or receiving generous, wholesome praise to other women. And, this praise is seldom about their looks - it is mostly about their achievements at work, life, how funny they are, or how kind, or how resilient. Deeper stuff - hard-earned and richly deserved compliments from which no one shies away. This podcast seems to be riffing on that old Amy Schumer sketch called "Compliments".

Really? I have a hard time believing naina is this nice a human. Sakshi I can understand because I have been following her for a while and I have come to understand that her moral standards are high and will not twist her principles in life no matter what. I mean she's a weirdo but a principled weirdo! Naina seems like she's saying all this just to come across as a nice person! you are way too pretty to be this nice. The math ain't mathing!
