This is incredible stuff. It is all beginning to make sense now to me what mia mottley speak about in reference to Africa. Panama, Liberia and the Carolina's. This is deep deep history

For the record, my gandfather Jacob A. Padmore died in 1971, at the age of 78. He died a year and a half after the death of his wife Nancy Goodridge Padmore. Nancy was his first and only wife. He never remarried after her death. My grandfather lived in our Sinkor home until his death. The lady interviewed here is Fannie Simpson and she was hired by the family to care for the home in Crozerville after they moved to Monrovia. Jacob A Padmore was never married to her. Her story changes with each interview and she’s essentially trying to erase the memory of my grandmother and her matrimony to Jacob Padmore. This is painful and very disrespectful to my grandparents memory.

I attended both of those funeral as boy growing up in Crozierville . I remember my first grade friend Richmond Goodridge ,. was the grand son of Ma Nancy Goodridge . Miss Fannie was the care taker we used to run up and down in that big house on Lemon Grass Street.

If you want to protect the history of your family, I suggest everyone gets their family tree written down with senior family members signing at the bottom to verify it and submit it to Liberian archives and online genealogy sites. At this point, people should not be relying on oral histories because they easily get distorted and cause issues down the line. It's time for Africans to start properly documenting their family genealogies for posterity

Great history of the Barbados connection to Liberia that needs to be taught in schools to the students in Barbados.

Wolo myers. Thank you so very much for this historical narrative from this lady about Liberia. I wish more Liberians could come on here to know about these things. A lot of us Liberians are Barbadians. Liberians only know how to chase money through governmental offices and like big shows while neglecting the learning aspect of its history. Humm. I sometimes asked God why Liberia had turned out to be the least country in West Africa? When we gave better life opportunities to people around the world in the 18th century,

I have always heard about this settlement but haven’t got the time to visit. I can’t even remember which part of Montserrado it is located. It looks naturally beautiful.

My Grandmother Nancy Goodridge Padmore was the only wife of Jacob Padmore, Fannie Simpson was the caretaker of the house on lemon grass Street. We should know our family history. My sister said it best.

I often wonder where you are since you were forced out of the office as President of the University of Liberia.
