Hey, an Aussie here! I think something to keep in mind when considering Mco Beauty is that Australia doesn’t have the same drug store brands that the US does. We unfortunately don’t have access to Wet n Wild, we don’t have Color pop in store, and we only receive maybe 5% of what Elf have to offer (we do have the flawless filter dupe, the lip oil and maybe a few brushes but it’s VERY limited). So I do think that Mco Beauty has revolutionised what the Aussie ‘drug store’ has to offer! Obviously being a dupe brand is its own issue that you may not want to support but for us Aussies it’s given the customer so many more options and interesting products for an affordable price! Just think it’s something worth considering when evaluating in your next video! ☺️
I'm from Australia too and I feel it is very overpriced for what it is. I won't even buy it when it is 40% off at Woolies. But I am probably in the minority. It is incredibly popular. Just not for me.
Not from Australia but like from what I here you guys have to pay a lot in customs for beauty products and if a the product isn’t sold in Australia you guys have to pay double in fees not that he’s a good person but I think James Charles was an example of products being double to ship to Australia
Yeah there’s issues around cost, delivery and customs import charges that affect us incredibly in Australia. Even with wanting drug store brands, influencer products and high profile brands can cost so much more due to importing, delivery times and shipping costs. It sucks but seeing something on the internet that a big group of people who are trying and liking can mean we either miss out completely, buy 1 or 2 products at an inflated price and incredibly costly shipping or buy a dupe. Quite often if I know someone who is travelling to the states I will get them to get me something small or duty free. Sometimes it’s almost as cost effective going on holiday and bringing something back. I got quote over $600 for lipstick, primer and eyeshadow (excluding the cost of the products) just on shipping and import charges. And no I didn’t buy it through that place. I ended up going through a couple of different places that was a lot cheaper but it’s not the first time I have been quoted that highly for stuff.
They brought MCo to my Kroger in US and it's like SOO expensive. 20$ for bronzing drops? Like there's no way that's drug store pricing. I thought it was way to expensive for what it was.
Re: Colourpop formulas: it's likely that they're cutting corners on the formula because they're paying for licensing fees. So if they cheap out on the formulas, they make more of their money back on those fees, which can be pricy.

As a POC I love love love that you call brands out for not going dark enough. So many other beauty influencer never mention it or reflect on it and it makes it so hard for me to navigate on what to buy that will work on me. honestly the thing with the pokemon collection is that it doesn't matter--- you guys are right, they picked a property with not only a rabid fan base (ESPECIALLY millennials with those original 151 and that blue and yellow packaging with the white border looking like they're doing Whose That Pokemon) but also it's a fanbase that already heavily participates in that collector mentality. Pokemon fans will try and own every plush ever made of their favorite pokemon and it's not even like--- Pikachu or Eevee or something more widely loved-- it's a random fav like Pachirisu or something. When the franchise you're partnering with has a slogan like 'Gotta catch 'em all!' you don't have to really try. (also full disclosure I recognize that I'm part of the problem cause I 100% bought some of the collection >u>;;; no judgement to other fans, sometimes we see pokemon and it overrides our brains...)

As a Sephora employee (and I’m sure many others will attest to this), those Mario bronzer serums are for the client who comes to you saying they want bronzer because TikTok told them they need it, but they’re telling you everything you’re showing them is too dark because they’re scared of pigment 😂 I honestly think doing makeup police on Patreon is a safer bet for you two, because so much of those episodes can be taken out of context and open you up for harassment. I understand that wanting to see them on TH-cam, but I think there’s a balance to be found there!!
So as an Aussie I’ve loved when McoBeauty did an overhaul and started doing the se dupes. Not all the formula’s are spot on but they are decent across the board. They aren’t the cheapest but the availability of these products are unbelievable most our grocery stores stock them and have constant sales so you can pick up the products pretty cheap. Also just a side note Sephora AU products are usually double the price Sephora US, I understand the exchange rate plays a factor. Also we don’t really have an ULTA equivalent, We have MECCA which is basically a more expensive Sephora 😧 Anyway I’m curious to hear what you guys think about the entire line so cant wait for the video!

Im a 33 yr old mom of two and i still play pokemon 😑 its such a nostalgic thing for me. My name tag in grade school had a pokeball sticker at each end( yea i wasnt very cool 🤣). Based on your recommendation I bought MAC Turquatic. The 50ml is $67 but the 96ml is currently on sale for $65. It smells so yummy I love it!! Also if you’re looking for a really light cool tone nude lip gloss I highly recommend Give Me Glow Cream Puff or Vanilla Milkshake they are currently on sale for $3. I also really like Pin Up its a blue tone red.

I've got a minor issue. I picked up the Nyx eyeliners you recommended. Amazeballs. Went out on Saturday and they stayed put in the water line all night. Perfect. Issue! How do I get it off??? After trying to clean it off, I just left it to twice a day attempts and by Tuesday it managed to disappear. I would *love* if you did an aftercare segment where you say "if you did this, this will remove it". Makeup wipes are gone but my skin is picky about makeup removal. And this bad boy? He was here for the rest of my life!

I wouldn't bother with MCo Beauty. I've tried at least 5-6 different products, and I've only kept 1 (as a back up). The rest went in the trash. I haven't gone back since.

I'm very interested in a deep dive on MCoBeauty! I'm curious as to whether the companies they're duping sell in Australia and what the general quality is of their products. To me, they walk such a fine line with their packaging I feel like they're very close to crossing the line of being a counterfeit product vs just a dupe. It does almost feel like they're trying to trick consumers into buying these products. I had the same reaction as Johnny to the PM tomfoolery. FOUR. HUNDRED. AND. TWENTY. DOLL HAIRS?! WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE?

i really didn't realise how many products that are available in the us which the uk has access to are not sold in australia a few creators i follow have made vudeo's trying co beauty products because of them duping brands blatantly alot of comments stated that co beauty is the only way australian people get to try these product it didn't cross my mind that top brands wouldn't sell there xx
51:23 This packaging is great in theory however not so much in the actual application. I have the PUR 4-in-1 love your selfie foundation and concealer and its in that same pump/doefoot applicator packaging. The doefoot applicator is hard and will scratch you if you arent careful because of that hole in the middle of it and the pump gets messy and gunks up. Kevin was spot on with saying how he sees it getting all messy and mushy. The PUR foundation formula was really thin and it got gunked up and stuck in the pump and this liquid bronzer formula has to be thicker and more sticky looking.

Also the wet n wild skin tint in person looks different than that picture I bought a very light and an the darkest shade and my friend who has the darker skin color was actually pleasantly surprised how dark the shade was. I'm very interested in a deep dive on MCoBeauty! I'm curious as to whether the companies they're duping sell in Australia and what the general quality is of their products. To me, they walk such a fine line with their packaging I feel like they're very close to crossing the line of being a counterfeit product vs just a dupe. It does almost feel like they're trying to trick consumers into buying these products.

51:23 This packaging is great in theory however not so much in the actual application. I have the PUR 4-in-1 love your selfie foundation and concealer and its in that same pump/doefoot applicator packaging. The doefoot applicator is hard and will scratch you if you arent careful because of that hole in the middle of it and the pump gets messy and gunks up. Kevin was spot on with saying how he sees it getting all messy and mushy. The PUR foundation formula was really thin and it got gunked up and stuck in the pump and this liquid bronzer formula has to be thicker and more sticky looking.
Omg the indentation marks. Yes. (The colored powders). I hadn’t even noticed til u said it.
Pur had the same pump for their love your selfie foundation (with 100 shades)

I picked my phone up and he was happy. It lasted a minute but he comes running when he hears both of your voices. It’s very cute. He is a very sweet kitty. Oh and go Australian dupe.
