Someone mentioned how this reminds them of us waiting on the last grain of sand in an hourglass, and it reminded me of one of my residents at the nursing home I work at. She’s so small and old and frail, and so so sweet; but she’s just waiting for that last grain of sand so she can see her husband again after so long. Sometimes it feels like she’s ready to go, and you can tell some mornings as she slips further into her dimension that she really thinks he’s there with her. Sometimes I like to think that he actually is.

I used to listen to this song a lot about a year and a half ago when I was deeply depressed. Now, after almost two years later I find myself listening to it again bawling my eyes out remembering those really dark days but thanking God I’m no longer in that dark abyss anymore. Thank you Ibi.
This song reminds me of the time my best friend and I were at the beach together at night. We sat with our feet in the water and stared at the stars. Neither of us wanted to lay in the sand but we didn’t care that our necks hurt from looking up. It was so beautiful and mesmerising. All the memories we shared and the jokes we made I’ll never forget. She helped me through so much. I miss her everyday but things are getting better. I’m becoming the person I knew she wanted me to be.
“...and so love fell like sand through her fingers. She could not catch it all, but she could remember what it felt like for her hands to be warm and full...” This is stunning music, I hope this little poem conveys to you how it made me feel. ❤️
I'm kneeling on a beach watching my life slide through my hands returning to the ocean blue like grains of golden sand The grains I hold are plentiful each one is like a gift. But I can't hold on forever, they're falling far too swift. In time, we'll all be swallowed up by waters cold and clear, but 'till that day we tightly cling to that which we hold dear. This crumbling beach around me is all I've ever known. The sand lost in the ocean is no different from my own. I think about the sand around me as I cling to my youth It's course and rough and irritating, but here, it's soft. And smooth.
This is good. I am sure that the ending “but here, it’s soft . And smooth,” does not provide me with the thoughts or feelings you might have felt when writing it. However, it is well done and still leaves me longing to have had experiences my youthfulness differently than the adversity that it had brought. Thank you
Life goes by so fast, so suddenly. You hardly realise how fast a chapter ends and a new one starts. You hardly realise that day to day you are even closer to the end. Stay thankful for every moment that is given to you and seize it. Live.

this is so nostalgic, i think its because it reminds me of the peaceful minecraft music from when i was a kid and i just played happily all day with my friends
I played minecraft as an older teen. But I always loved the music from it. I especially remember the music from when I'd play alone, in a giant world just exploring and building
1:28 this is my favourite part. The contrast between the treble and bass. It's like the treble is vulnerable and a bit sad, whereas the bass is more relaxed and strong.

I call a lot of things beautiful. I do this whenever I really like something, and sometimes all these things may not deserve that label. But to your videos, all of them, I mean that word in it's most pure sense.
Listening to this i can clearly see myself on a beach staring into the sky of a warm summer night and reminiscing about memories I never made from a life I never lived
We all have different languages and everyone has their own perception. However, this piece of art evokes a feeling of melancholy, coldness yet not too cold, as if you are floating in the water which is cold yet bearable and you have no strength to leave it as it is comfortable and also uncomfortable at the same time in a lot of us.

something cool about this is that neither A nor Ab are ever hit, so even though the "home" sort of chord is C minor, the mood is left more ambiguous and open for interpretation--we aren't force fed the idea of either dorian or aeolian
@@angeloop it uses only notes that are in the b flat scale, but it also uses only notes that are in the E flat scale (c minor). that's why it's sort of left open and unclear especially without that 4 (or 7 if you're looking at b flat) ever being hit.
Interesting analysis. I have to say I agree with your statement albeit I'm just using fancy words to sound as if my intelligence is higher than it really is.
@@vivsmusicplace He is implying that the OP shouldn't go around using the word "poetry" so lightly. The first reply is basically that user belittling the OP's understanding of the word poetry.
It is when I am laying down in bed, closing my eyes, hearing nothing but those ever so gentle and well placed notes and giving into the music, that I feel at ease. A soft smelling and timid dancing candle fills the room with a golden shimmer. Notes tickling different areas of my brain. I can see myself grasping and smelling the earthy moss I lay in, absorbing the summer woods. I notice the nightingales vivid tales. Little creatures wandering in their little world, scratching and burrowing in the ground. I notice that they can never comprehend what I am feeling and think about life itself. I let those thoughts float through my mind, until they are no more. The air is fresh, but still warm and the giant bulb of fire is beginning to set. I listen to one more rustling leaf, feel one more soft breeze, watch the clouds get carried away and slowly return to reality.

When I hear this, I think about what could’ve been. Lying on my bed at the end of the night, think of all the “what if”s and what could’ve happened, and how just a tiny little thing could’ve changed and turned everything around. I think about all the events in the past, the regrets, the sorrows, and all the tough days, or maybe even happy days that led to this very day.
When it start's sounds like the music say: "Hello, how are you?" Like talking to yourself in the mirror while getting ready for the day. You answer it, the music talk back. And it's the most amazing conversation with yourself in the mirror ever. And when the music stops, you look great, you feel great. And you're ready to go. 😎
i knew her for a long time before she was gone. we never really spoke, apart from a few words in passing because she liked my shoes, or i couldn’t remember if we had homework or not. she wore the same converse with drawings of stars all over them most days. i never saw her without a green apple lollipop in her mouth or tucked behind her ear waiting to be opened. i always saw her riding her bike down my street, i never knew where she was going but the wind blowing through her long hair with color that changed every two weeks made it seem like wherever she was headed was important. whenever we weren’t in school she always had a pack of camels rolled into her sleeve. her eyes were the brightest green youve ever seen. they were also sad, so, so sad. as if she’s been through so much that there’s no point in trying anymore. then she was gone, without a trace. no one knows exactly where she went. it makes you wonder doesn’t it.
I'm gonna be completely honest, this sounds like it belongs in a lore reveal in Hollow Knight. Seriously though, this is beautifully arranged and delicately played. It's soulful, which I find to be more impressive than being able to perform arpeggios at incredible speeds. As opposed to speed and power, being able to convey soft emotion is what I strive towards. To anyone reading this, I would highly recommend checking out ibi's other videos. There's more sand where this video came from.
thank you TH-cam for recommending this to me, it's raining outside and I'm going through some hardships in life but hearing this melody didn't made me sad, it was like a loving mother singing to her crying child. thank you sir/madam for this masterpiece !
I watched this video so many times but I don't think I've ever commented about how at peace these sounds make me feel. Hearing the workings of the piano add to it in a way that I've never experienced or enjoyed as much as this video before. It's truly beautiful, I have to be careful not to listen to it so much that I become desensitized and don't appreciate it anymore.
I love how ambiguous this piece is. It is easy to enjoy and to immerse oneself in. It's so very beautiful in its simplicity. It's contemplative and very gently sad. It's like that gentle place between sleep and being awake.
I’m sitting on soft, plush grass. Looking out over the beach that spills out into the ocean from atop a tall cliff. The sun is setting, casting the sky in bright orange and reds. The wind whips past me, swirling around me, caressing my body then returning to the sky. The few remaining clouds float north on that same breeze. I stand up. My toes bare, the earth kisses my feet. I close the remaining gap between me and the edge. My toes now curl around it to touch the soft dirt underneath the grass. I close my eyes, taking in the sound of the waves on the shore below, the wind through branches of the nearby forest, and my intake of breath. My right leg goes out, as if to step up on to an invisible stair. And I plunge, tens of feet a second. Head first, tipped down toward the rocky ocean below. Wind now causing my hair to sting my face, it whistles a single, sorrowful note in my ear. I take in a sharp breath as I open my wings, soaring back into the darkening sky in a long, gentle, upward ark. “Ah, I’m home again.”

We're all but a grain of sand in this vast universe, though we have what feels like the strongest bonds, the strongest love, and still, that love is incredibly tiny. Though our whole life is based around it, it is still tiny. We are all but a grain of sand. Sand in a desert with billions of grains. We are nothing, but yet love is so big. We've only discovered a grain of sand of what love really is. This may sound like total garbage, but this is what this piece made me say. Thank you, if you read this. I hope you have a great life!

I'm kneeling on a beach
watching my life slide through my hands
returning to the ocean blue
like grains of golden sand
The grains I hold are plentiful
each one is like a gift.
But I can't hold on forever,
they're falling far too swift.
In time, we'll all be swallowed up
by waters cold and clear,
but 'till that day we tightly cling
to that which we hold dear.
This crumbling beach around me
is all I've ever known.
The sand lost in the ocean
is no different from my own.
I think about the sand around me
as I cling to my youth
It's course and rough and irritating,
but here, it's soft. And smooth.

However, it is well done and still leaves me longing to have had experiences my youthfulness differently than the adversity that it had brought. Thank you

How do you describe the indescribable...
Life goes by so fast, so suddenly. You hardly realise how fast a chapter ends and a new one starts. You hardly realise that day to day you are even closer to the end. Stay thankful for every moment that is given to you and seize it. Live.
thank you!

this is so nostalgic, i think its because it reminds me of the peaceful minecraft music from when i was a kid and i just played happily all day with my friends
Same. Good times.

That's spot on actually
Your insight is much accurate to mine.. you captured it perfectly, as a certain someone said.

It's actually quite pleasant to watch the hammers of the piano move according to the keys you press.
When music tells you a whole story, the story is one but everyone right now is translating it in different ways in their heads…

Time is sand. This music reminds me of past times..something beautiful and forgotten.
Beautifully created and performed. Had me in a state of meditation for all of 7 minutes. Thank you.
I take in a sharp breath as
I open my wings, soaring back into the darkening sky in a long, gentle, upward ark. “Ah, I’m home again.”

this song is like being in the eye of a storm. a sand storm. the eye of the storm is your spectator place watching, watching how everything and everyone is destroyed. a very deep sadness busting from a hurt soul. it made me cry. thank you for composing this piece of magnificent art.
This is one of my favourite pieces of music.... Thank you so much for this!
Awesome rendition, that piano looks and sounds amazing, thanks for posting this AND posting a link to MIDI files, much appreciated!
This piece reminds me of "Her".
@Hannah Clark The movie "Her" has some piano songs by Arcade Fire. ibi have done some vids on it: th-cam.com/video/38rGxcPibn8/w-d-xo.html
@Hannah Clark by eerie, perhaps? Hahaha
A song on the beach
"across a room,
tangled in my imagination,
we had spent a lifetime together
by the time she said hello" - atticus
gençlik yıllarımda bana eşlik ettiğiniz için teşekkür ederim. Umarım o saatte o sahil kenarında tek başıma da bu şarkıyı dinleyebilirim
