This song reminds me of the time my best friend and I were at the beach together at night. We sat with our feet in the water and stared at the stars. Neither of us wanted to lay in the sand but we didn’t care that our necks hurt from looking up. It was so beautiful and mesmerising. All the memories we shared and the jokes we made I’ll never forget. She helped me through so much. I miss her everyday but things are getting better. I’m becoming the person I knew she wanted me to be.
I used to listen to this song a lot about a year and a half ago when I was deeply depressed. Now, after almost two years later I find myself listening to it again bawling my eyes out remembering those really dark days but thanking God I’m no longer in that dark abyss anymore. Thank you Ibi.

Someone mentioned how this reminds them of us waiting on the last grain of sand in an hourglass, and it reminded me of one of my residents at the nursing home I work at. She’s so small and old and frail, and so so sweet; but she’s just waiting for that last grain of sand so she can see her husband again after so long. Sometimes it feels like she’s ready to go, and you can tell some mornings as she slips further into her dimension that she really thinks he’s there with her. Sometimes I like to think that he actually is.
I hope she''s doing well, this comment really moved me. I enjoy seeing into strangers worlds through little slices like this. Treat her well, he'd want you too
this made me cry. I hope she’s doing well. This reminds me of the little time we have on this earth and that every day is precious and we need to be grateful we have those days
I'm kneeling on a beach watching my life slide through my hands returning to the ocean blue like grains of golden sand The grains I hold are plentiful each one is like a gift. But I can't hold on forever, they're falling far too swift. In time, we'll all be swallowed up by waters cold and clear, but 'till that day we tightly cling to that which we hold dear. This crumbling beach around me is all I've ever known. The sand lost in the ocean is no different from my own. I think about the sand around me as I cling to my youth It's course and rough and irritating, but here, it's soft. And smooth.
This is good. I am sure that the ending “but here, it’s soft . And smooth,” does not provide me with the thoughts or feelings you might have felt when writing it. However, it is well done and still leaves me longing to have had experiences my youthfulness differently than the adversity that it had brought. Thank you
“...and so love fell like sand through her fingers. She could not catch it all, but she could remember what it felt like for her hands to be warm and full...” This is stunning music, I hope this little poem conveys to you how it made me feel. ❤️
Life goes by so fast, so suddenly. You hardly realise how fast a chapter ends and a new one starts. You hardly realise that day to day you are even closer to the end. Stay thankful for every moment that is given to you and seize it. Live.

Ibi, after 36 hours of labor, I naturally birthed my daughter. This song was on my birth playlist. After it played for the first time, I asked my partner to put it on repeat. We listened to it for 6 hours straight, through a hospital transfer and my entire birth team cheering me on through pushing for 3 hours. YOUR music helped me calmly bring my daughter into the world. I don’t think anyone there will ever forget it, I know we won’t. Thank you!
Ben, senin için kıyafetler bakmıştım, yemekler bakmıştım, denizler bakmıştım, yollar bakmıştım, fallar bakmıştım, senin gözlerinle aynalara bakmıştım. sen benim babaannemin başörtüsüne yapışık sakızdın. sen benim alışveriş yapmadığım halde selam verdiğim bakkal amcaydın, sen çaldığım ilk yüzüktün, kırdığım ilk bardaktın, takımı bozduğum için annemden yediğim ilk dayaktın, sen doksan birinci dakikada yediğim goldün, kendimden gizli gizli içtiğim biraydın, sigaraları yarım attığım sokaktın, korktuğum kırmızı arabaydın, takip ettiğine inandığım sestin, bir cenaze evindeki kalabalık, mezardaki yalnızlıktın. “Sana geldim kalbim kırıktı”
1:28 this is my favourite part. The contrast between the treble and bass. It's like the treble is vulnerable and a bit sad, whereas the bass is more relaxed and strong.

Seni terk ettim. Bilmem kaç kilometre yol gittim. Evren kaydı. Sen göğüs kafesimden milim kaymadın.
"Canım yanıyor. Haykırmak istiyorum içimde senin için tuttuklarımı fakat sen tutunca elimi hepsi biraz daha kaçıyor içime. Biraz daha köşeye sıkıştırıyorsun onları. Gözlerimi sabitliyorum gözlerine ki görebilesin yanıp tutuştuğumu. Görüyor musun? Hayır. Gülümsüyorsun bana. Sanki hiçbir sorun yok gibi ortada. Boğazımı temizliyorum. Konuşmaya hazırlıyorum kendimi fakat gülümsemen kesti bile nefesimi. Susuyorum yine. Çaresiz bırakıyorsun beni." ~Meryem
this is so nostalgic, i think its because it reminds me of the peaceful minecraft music from when i was a kid and i just played happily all day with my friends
I played minecraft as an older teen. But I always loved the music from it. I especially remember the music from when I'd play alone, in a giant world just exploring and building

I heard this song for the first time in a world in VRChat during the worst time of my life. Using VRChat as a way for me to escape the real world and express myself in a new one and hearing this song every time I logged on really helped me think about how I was feeling and who I am. In other words, thank you so much for this powerful performance.
this feels like an example of the person i want to be. i want to be that one who shares out these amazing works. so more people can appreciate it; when people hear of them, they’ll remember how much they loved it. and they’ll think of me.
Same thing happened to me. During the pandemic I started to play VRC to overcome my social anxiety and the song made me so calm when hearing it the first time in `Spirits of the Sea`. Today I have so many good friends in the game. Whenever I return to the world I am happy this song is still playing and it makes me grateful and nostalgic about all things that happened.
something cool about this is that neither A nor Ab are ever hit, so even though the "home" sort of chord is C minor, the mood is left more ambiguous and open for interpretation--we aren't force fed the idea of either dorian or aeolian
@@angeloop it uses only notes that are in the b flat scale, but it also uses only notes that are in the E flat scale (c minor). that's why it's sort of left open and unclear especially without that 4 (or 7 if you're looking at b flat) ever being hit.
Interesting analysis. I have to say I agree with your statement albeit I'm just using fancy words to sound as if my intelligence is higher than it really is.
I love that he's giving away sheet music for free like, yes let us use his music to ease our own pain by ourselves and maybe the pain experienced by the people we know
No matter what happens, even if we lose our memory our soul will remember everything. When I was alone I found this channel and you helped me get through the dark times. Now they started again. My life is on the edge every moment and my loved ones are in a lot of trouble too. Now I'm here again. I forgot about this place and it feels like I returned home from a long journey. Even if it won't get better, even if my life might end while i'm writing this, I will never forget again. Thank you.
I can imagine the scene that I was standing alone at the empty seashore far from my hometown, I gave my look to million stars beyond the foreign sky (different from my hometown) and then looked back to the long seashore fullfiled by sands. Loneliness, sadness, nostalgia, smallness... cosmos is infinite but my life is not, oneday I will be covered by sands and my existence will disapear. The stars continue mesmerizing human being like the way "Some sand" did. Simple Melody but the feeling is not
We all have different languages and everyone has their own perception. However, this piece of art evokes a feeling of melancholy, coldness yet not too cold, as if you are floating in the water which is cold yet bearable and you have no strength to leave it as it is comfortable and also uncomfortable at the same time in a lot of us.

Listening to this i can clearly see myself on a beach staring into the sky of a warm summer night and reminiscing about memories I never made from a life I never lived
I watched this video so many times but I don't think I've ever commented about how at peace these sounds make me feel. Hearing the workings of the piano add to it in a way that I've never experienced or enjoyed as much as this video before. It's truly beautiful, I have to be careful not to listen to it so much that I become desensitized and don't appreciate it anymore.
I love how ambiguous this piece is. It is easy to enjoy and to immerse oneself in. It's so very beautiful in its simplicity. It's contemplative and very gently sad. It's like that gentle place between sleep and being awake.
I dont know if its just me or... When I heard this song for the first time, I had strong feeling like I know this melody my whole life. Like background music of my life sort of

It is when I am laying down in bed, closing my eyes, hearing nothing but those ever so gentle and well placed notes and giving into the music, that I feel at ease. A soft smelling and timid dancing candle fills the room with a golden shimmer. Notes tickling different areas of my brain. I can see myself grasping and smelling the earthy moss I lay in, absorbing the summer woods. I notice the nightingales vivid tales. Little creatures wandering in their little world, scratching and burrowing in the ground. I notice that they can never comprehend what I am feeling and think about life itself. I let those thoughts float through my mind, until they are no more. The air is fresh, but still warm and the giant bulb of fire is beginning to set. I listen to one more rustling leaf, feel one more soft breeze, watch the clouds get carried away and slowly return to reality.
When I hear this, I think about what could’ve been. Lying on my bed at the end of the night, think of all the “what if”s and what could’ve happened, and how just a tiny little thing could’ve changed and turned everything around. I think about all the events in the past, the regrets, the sorrows, and all the tough days, or maybe even happy days that led to this very day.
Although the perfectionist in me wants to see the piano aligned with the frame, I just want to say how much I enjoy your videos! Having an acoustic upright, instead of a digital piano, is significantly better in terms of sound. Furthermore the visual aesthetic of the key mechanism in action is wonderful as well. Keep doing your thing!

This piece always reminds me of the wonderful times I have had in VRChat. This song was once used in a very special world I'd always go to hang out with friends. It is filled with memories of joyful times, soft times, existential times, and more. Each moment was accompanied by this piece. Thank you for touching part of my heart with your music.
i knew her for a long time before she was gone. we never really spoke, apart from a few words in passing because she liked my shoes, or i couldn’t remember if we had homework or not. she wore the same converse with drawings of stars all over them most days. i never saw her without a green apple lollipop in her mouth or tucked behind her ear waiting to be opened. i always saw her riding her bike down my street, i never knew where she was going but the wind blowing through her long hair with color that changed every two weeks made it seem like wherever she was headed was important. whenever we weren’t in school she always had a pack of camels rolled into her sleeve. her eyes were the brightest green youve ever seen. they were also sad, so, so sad. as if she’s been through so much that there’s no point in trying anymore. then she was gone, without a trace. no one knows exactly where she went. it makes you wonder doesn’t it.
No matter how lonely one feels, no matter how alone and scared. One must always remember that no matter how rare your situation, feeling, or life may be. Atleast one other person out there knows how you feel. How it is to feel forgotten in a world where power, money and greed is all that is. And as the world Population continues to tick further and close in on 8 billion. We must realize we are not alone in the changing world. And if you ever think you may have it the worst. Just remember, millions are facing with the same feelings as you. And millions more facing hardship against one's existence as a sovereign being, in war torn countries.
this song is like, you're not sure if things are getting worse or better, but you know it's getting heavier.

Treat her well, he'd want you too
How is she doing? Does she still live? :)
this made me cry. I hope she’s doing well. This reminds me of the little time we have on this earth and that every day is precious and we need to be grateful we have those days

I'm kneeling on a beach
watching my life slide through my hands
returning to the ocean blue
like grains of golden sand
The grains I hold are plentiful
each one is like a gift.
But I can't hold on forever,
they're falling far too swift.
In time, we'll all be swallowed up
by waters cold and clear,
but 'till that day we tightly cling
to that which we hold dear.
This crumbling beach around me
is all I've ever known.
The sand lost in the ocean
is no different from my own.
I think about the sand around me
as I cling to my youth
It's course and rough and irritating,
but here, it's soft. And smooth.
beautiful poem :)
Very beautiful. I hope more people see this poem.
wow! did you write that?
This is good. I am sure that the ending “but here, it’s soft . And smooth,” does not provide me with the thoughts or feelings you might have felt when writing it. However, it is well done and still leaves me longing to have had experiences my youthfulness differently than the adversity that it had brought. Thank you

something cool about this is that neither A nor Ab are ever hit, so even though the "home" sort of chord is C minor, the mood is left more ambiguous and open for interpretation--we aren't force fed the idea of either dorian or aeolian

I played a VR chat world with this song was playing, it was one of my first times playing the game, I had the most fun I've ever had in years, after everyone left I stayed for another 30min just listening to this song and wondering around the world, just thinking about how happy i am right know, I just can't believe how happy I was, i hsd been so unhappy for years and to then feel how happy I was actually, changed my point of view, I'm 18, I'm going to sleep well tonight, may it be a peaceful night for everyone ❤
Like the comment so I'll never forget this song, the song that was playing when I had seen how happy I was, this song will always bring peace to me
Thanks!
I've been browsing looking for pieces to inspire me, and wow... just wow man....

Her bir nota da içimde ki hüzün artıyor sanki ama bi yandan da dinledikçe içimdeki hüzün huzura sonsuzluğa dönüşüyor yavaş yavaş.
I want to thank God for his grace of worship upon Nigeria. Truly name Jesus is the name above every other name. He is the light and darkness has never overcome this light. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess the name of Jesus. He alone deserve praise, glory honour forever and ever Amen.👏👏🥳🥳
This piece of art should be in a movie what a talent that can't get ignored 🖤🖤

This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. Truly made my evening so much better.
And millions more facing hardship against one's existence as a sovereign being, in war torn countries.
it calmed me down. thanks🖐
don't mined me I'm just here to inform you your comment is doing well.
