    Yugoslavia broke up between 1989 and April 1992 and no longer exists they are made in Serbia a former state of Yugoslavia. Great informative video about a gun I wish to buy bran new.

    Hand select at Classic is a scam, I got a rusted "hand select" SKS from them. When I called, the guy who picked it told me he didn't even take it out of the thick plastic bag when he "inspected" it for condition before shipping.
    I love Zastava/Yugo/Serbian stuff. I have a M24/47, two M48's, two M59/66A1's, a NPAP, and two M57's but not one of these. I'd like one, and the 9mm. I do have a CZ50 and a Hungarian FEG AP-32 and reload .32 so I need to grab one. I just wish they were C&R, that would make it easier and cheaper!

    CZ 70 with Underwood ammo extreme perpetrators. Due to R/A I have become very recoil sensitive. I carry the CZ 70 over this because it is SA/DA.

      Shawn 22 mag for life Bane if I were to pick one to carry I’d pick the CZ 50/70 as well because of the DA/SA. I’m thinking about doing a comparison between the Zastava M70 and CZ 50/70.

    Enjoyed your video, I bought an M70 on a whim as I'm partial to 32 acp caliber and I assumed because its all steel it can fire plus ammo? . I already have a Tom Cat 3032 but it can not fire + ammo. I'm having trouble with the magazines that came with the M70 pistol! Neither will load the 8 rounds it's supposed to without great effort and when I do the shells won't cycle into the chamber? One of the magazines won't dismantle so I can't clean it! So, basically I'm asking for advice, I'm not looking forward to sending the gun back. I have purchased other surplus guns and they all worked fine out the box, the Makarov functioned even before I cleaned it! Also the M70 is bigger than what I thought much bigger than my Colt and Sig 380! So, if anyone out there has suggestions I'm open to them.

    • @BrowncoatNerd
      @BrowncoatNerd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Flametree that sucks. Mags for these aren’t the easiest to come by. If I were you I’d soak the mag that won’t disassemble with CLP. As for the other mag not working I don’t know what to say. I haven’t ever fired any +P out of mine. Hell I haven’t even come across any +P to even consider it. I hope you get yours working as they are very fun little guns. Best of luck!

    • @Flametree1492
      @Flametree1492 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrowncoatNerd I managed to get the magazine apart, seems the magazine "floor" plate was too big and was jammed! Also, I guess as the piece was in storage so long the spring tension is tight? As far as plus ammo, I overstated; I'm thinking since the M70 is solid steel and has a longer barrel than the Berreta Tomcat it could handle "hotter" ammo. The Tomcat manual states to never use hot loads? Also, I added a finger extender to the Zastava and it's very functional. Thank you for your feedback.

    It is a simple blowback system, it goes way to 9mm. .380acp and 9makarow is also simple blowback system. Short recoil is almost every 9mm and bigger, except hi point 9mm, but that thing is too heavy because of a heavy slide to compesate simple blowback system and prevent gases to burn your hand.

    • @Toolness1
      @Toolness1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Astra 600/43 was a blowback 9mm and also the HK VP70 but there sure arent many.

    The light primer strikes are more likely the hammer spring being caked with cosmoline. It needs breaking the hammer pack down and a thorough cleaning. Be careful don’t lose any parts they are hard to come by!😂😂😂dont ask how I know.

    • @BrowncoatNerd
      @BrowncoatNerd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      John Waddell turned out that the firing pin channel was caked in grease. Cleaned the hell out of it and works great now. No mare light strikes!

    I hope you can help me with this, I cleaned and reassembled the pistol, but it will not fire. I can see the firing pin, but I am not sure if the hammer is hitting it. Thank you.

    • @BrowncoatNerd
      @BrowncoatNerd  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      nikki piano check your primer to see if you’re getting light strikes. I had a similar problem after I cleaned mine. I think some of the cleaner loosened up some dirt and grease and that got caked on the firing pin and spring. It wouldn’t fire a single round but they all were getting light strikes. There’s a plate at the back of the firing pin. I’ve wrestled with it but just can’t get it to budge. I ended up spraying some Blast & Shine in there. It’s a clean that evaporates quickly so it doesn’t add any additional build up. I haven’t had a chance to test it yet. But you can tell by pushing on it with a punch the spring has been freed up greatly. I hope this helps.

    • @thefleaflop
      @thefleaflop 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think folks are not clearing the fireing pin chamber properly.... Pin and channel must be squeaky clean and dry in most all firearms to get an inertia strike on the primer.

  • @jw1604
    @jw1604 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This gun is simple, heavy and cheap. Ergonomics is very poor - the hammer pinches the hand and the grip is too short for good work with the weapon. It even shoots accurately, the recoil is not great... It is now outdated, but it is still a normal gun that can be effectively defended for $85.

    Have you had any magazine issues? The mags are marked 7.65 (.32), but .380 fits very easily. The .32 acp seems to nose dive and even go cockeyed at times.

    • @BrowncoatNerd
      @BrowncoatNerd  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      there is a .380 version of this pistol, however they've not been imported into the US as of yet. i would love for that to change. these are great little pistols.

    • @mariorodic3970
      @mariorodic3970 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is the same magazine. Yes, 7.65 is printed on each of them, even on a .380 version. .380 version holds 7, and 7.65 version holds 8 rounds.

    • @jimmeli5200
      @jimmeli5200 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thomas- I have had issues using hollow points, none with FMJ. I have 4 mags and they all are "loose fit" to accommodate .380 acp. (I'd love this gun in .380). Also, I also had light strikes due to cosmoline in the firing pin sleeve. I soaked mine in boiling water when I first got it and it did a great job everywhere else. You need to remove the firing pin and clean it, the springs etc. Mine was PACKED wit it. Now it goes bang with every chambered round. Wish it had caliber specific mags so I could use defensive ammo...
