I like his drive to maintain integrity within the township! However, there was plenty of time to get info. on all of the candidates, including Ms. Henyard. Therefore, Trustee Gonzales must garner some responsibility for putting the current township supervisor in office. Before he nominated her, he should have already had intel on his nominee. That was negligent! His negligence is indicative of how many people vote for certain candidates running for office. I am glad he's there, and was elected, but I do hope that he's doing better research for the purpose of gathering facts!
I agree he should have done his homework, BUT they were out of options! They had been voting on other nominees for days. Time was up! They, in the end, rushed thru the oath to get in under the wire. The whole thing was a cluster, & he threw a name out there!

Illinois/Chicago politics on a "street level" are already run by women. This place is very corrupt. A lot of "minority men" want women to run things or be in charge. Maybe a lot of those guys are lazy. I don't know why people trust the leadership of women or prefer to be led by them & they don't know them nor have those women done right by the people

I appreciate Trustee Gonzalez for his insistance on tranparency and integrity. I hope that going forward Trustee Gonzalez will demand receiving documentation at least 48 hours in advance, either via email or hand delivery. If he makes this request and continues to not get this information in a timely manner, he needs to document his request and the response of the Supervisor! I also hope that he subsequently thoroughly examines all measures, referendums, ordinances, etc. Then, publically assess his thoughts. Even if the public review is through some informal platform such as youtube.
The people should have been the ones to choose. So, i question if Gonzalez can make the right decisions. The problem is that she knew she was going to be appointed and i think a lot of village trustees knew already. Eo stop the lies.

I dont trust Gonzales one bit. He nominated Tiffany Henyard to be on the board. The board voted for her to be there because they thought they could control her. And when you look at Tiffany's resume, they had good reason to. She hadn't had real successful governmental leadership experience. She ran failed businesses and no experience leading any organization successfully. So they, including Gonzalez, thought that she would be too naive to lead the Township. Which means that they can control her. All of the people that was nominated for Township supervisor either was too powerful to control or they had experience running organizations but again they could not control. Thats why the appointments failed but with Tiffany's appointment, she succeeded. However, when Tiffany's ego got big, now all of a sudden, he wants her gone. No bro you can't have it both ways.
What happened to background checks ? Is what I'd like to know.. Tiffany has a record for auto theft, she hired a guy who is a convicted pe. doph ile and another who is convicted sex offender... Sooner than later the FBI & other entities will flood Dalton and I believe a whole lot of people may find themselves on the wrong side of the Law. They’re not answering questions now but sooner than later they won’t have a choice. Charging people a $500 parking ticket for stopping to let out someone in front of a grocery store …the stop was in a fire lane but was not parking. The police only took pictures …and the people received tickets in the mail. Hundreds of people had to show up to pay tickets or fine doubled a few days later. There’s a new report out there. Criminal thugs (police) who are on Henyard’s payroll doing this.

The salary issue is unconstitutional. Why hasn't the State's Attorney stepped in and filed a lawsuit to get this invalidated.
Why possible justifies a $200,000+ salary for the Township Supervisor?
I lived in Dolton the attorney general wife was on the board of Dolton they all know each other
or was a conversation between trustees in that time to paid her the salary that the past supervisor earn on 30 years of service . Nice big expenses when with a new supervisor you could be save like 200k for another's programs.
Like she said things will change when she gets her board in place in Dolton The Township board is locked in and everyone knows why.

@@daphnebrown8863 exactly. the dolton trustees endorsed Tiffany and made her mayor first, before she ran for Thornton supervisor. Even if they tried to recall her they did initially endorse her and help make her mayor. If it’s ok for them to make mistakes it should be ok for the Thornton township to make mistakes too in regards to being duped by Tiffany.

I wonder what Gonzales is doing to persuade at least one other trustee to join his efforts to make motions. At least one of those trustee needs to stop following Tiffany blindly. Otherwise the assumption is that they are all getting paid and if so they all need to get voted out. Gonzales also needs to give The Lansing Journal and other local newspapers tips on how to run for a trustee. Maybe the Lansing Journal can write a few articles for “sound minded” folks to get involved in this way. Thanks!
He's not & can't persuade the other trustees because they're not blindly following her. They have family members & friends working in Thornton departments. This was exposed & is public info.That's why those crazy resolutions & motions are passed & Gonzalez is almost always the lone nay sayer to the votes. Ironically he nominated her as he admitted.
