I had no idea that anyone other than Park Bok Nam taught this. Excellent Ba Gua. Real power generation.

Bok Nam Park was taught by a Chinese man who had fled to Korea during WWII. That guy probably had a lot of other Korean students besides Park.

Turns out a number of Korean kung-fu teachers in the US claim lineage to Lu Shui-Tian. I studied with Park in the late 90's/early 2000's, but in the early 80's, I studied with Maing-Yul Jung in Houston, who also claims to be of Lu Shui-Tian lineage. (I didn't study bagua with Master Jung, only the hybrid long first/mantis system that he taught kids, but a number of his adult students learned his bagua.)

Would be great to learn and train from this Teacher ! This style of Bagua Zhang is strictly for combat.

All Pa Kua is for combat. All martial arts outside of China since before the communist takeover are about combat. Only Wushu is a demonstration sport. Before accepting a teacher you must know why you want to study with him, and then ask him if he will teach you.
I ask every student why they want to study with me before accepting them or not. Any genuine Kung fu is hard work and will take several years before you have any real skills. There are no guarantees you will develop them in any event. Patience is a virtue.
      Good luck.

These pictures speak a thousand words. The demos are very clear - the teacher definitely knows how to teach the art. What lineage of Baguazhang did Lu Shui Tian come from before he fled to Korea?

I think thats a mystery. But undoutedly it can be traced back to Tung Hai Chuan. Or one of his two great students. Check out Shanghai Gutter Fighting Method for some clues. Notice how this teacher uses spearhand? The two top students differed in the focus of their applications. I forget their names at the moment. But one focused more on Shuai Jiao. And the other on striking and evasive footwork. Move in and throw. Or avoid and strike. Good luck.

The only two people who know , ain't talkin much. Dae Woung Young (yes Dae Woung was his student ), and Bok Nam Park. Dae Woung's style has a lot of Mantis, I think. ?. After 7 years of practice is all I could piece together. I know We have a 12 twelve step Tan tui which Muslim in origin, and Bagua Circle walking, and Hakka routines. Dae Woung's style is very traditional and rigidly difficult.

Thanks for sharing. However, while I'm grateful for what you're shared, the editing on this video was poorly done.
Perhaps it would have been better to leave a single explanation of the applications in place rather than chopping the seminar into pieces.
