  • In 2006 I received an invitation from the Traditional Muay Thai Boxing Academy (Chaiya) to demonstrate internal Chinese boxing.

    I modern wing tsun we use a style near like this. If you look at foot displacement there are a lots of similitude

    Awesome stuff..but ..how do you do the lift (or throw) at 0:57? I'm very interested in that. Bagua is an awesome martial art and I'm very respectful of your skill.

      Slow the play speed down, if you are not sure. Hes got his arms underneath the dudes armpits. As the attacker comes in, he steps back + sinks into the ground... changing the vector of the OPs mass... while at the same time, charging up his own potentials (leg springs). When the OP has nearly ran out of forwards momentum, and a lot of it has passed into him... he adds the OPs mass energy to his own.. by Springing his legs upwards, and his whole body upwards.
      Since he is connected at the OPs armpits... and he has a lot of momentum from the OP left over to aid his upwards body mass movement... it becomes fairly easy to lift and toss him. While you might be able to do this without help from the OPs forwards energy... it would take a lot more muscle power to do so. In this method of changing the mass vectors... it reduces the need for massive bulky muscles. Just need excellent Core strength, and precision mastered technique.
      All of this said, the throws are the Nice way to respond in the Chinese combat arts. Typically, you just use a Lethal short range hit, and the OP is dispatched in a fraction of a second timeframe. Of course, getting such a hit against another masterclass level fighter, might not be so easy.

      @@paradabagua I do Wing Chun. People say it don't work. I hope they won't have to find out. Bagua is a wonderful style. Broader movements than Wing Chun but effective nonetheless. Thank you.

      The only thing you dont need in MMA is the brain. Stop your stupid comment
