The algorithm failed me again. it took me two, three years to catch up with Peter Beets since that Jazz Orchestra of the Concergebouw. I'll be coming back to this often.
Not for me I played the kit years ago and I always worked with the leader to give him what he wanted and if that was rim shots or more crash so be it but if not I think this young lad was just right.
Classy, all the way.. Marvellous interpretation of this Coltrane Gem. Wow.....that's some orchestra Camille Bertault , You are from. A Different Planet. Take a bow. God Bless and Stay Healthy.
Gem! Great playing from start to finish. The whole orchestra is like one organism. Great vocal. Outstanding piano. And a really special drummer. Anyone who has ever played in an orchestra and has experienced their own handicap hears what class it is. John is happy in his heaven.
I have all the u tube Peter Beets I could find on my i pad and never tire of listening to a master at work. His Brother on Base is no slouch either. What a family.
Once more: my almost daily music piece I enjoy most because of the out-of-this world style of this superb jazz orchestra, individual musicians, arrangement, extraordinary rhythm section and off course my great love Camille Bertault!
Amazing musicianship. Bravo Henk Meutgeert for the arrangement; Giant Steps never had it better; surely John Coltrane is pleased. Camille Bertault's glances to Peter Beets 6:15 are priceless. Drummer Wouter Kühne is so fresh and surprising. Exciting horns. This performance is phenomenal. Listening means moving. Thank you each.
That's music pal !
I conduct a student’s big band in Costa Rica called the CCCN JAZZ ORCHESTRA. I would love to try out this chart with our students. How can I get this arragement?
I wish I could see the hands of that drummer and what he was using, brushes or what. Great sense of time and hands. Would love to be able to read Dutch but alas only English.
Camile is sensational as always, and the pianist was very good, but sometimes this orchestra arrangements strip the soul out of the original piece. This is one such cases. Everything feels so overcrafted that it is stale, heavy and boring. The complete opposite of what Coltrane should be.
Ugh...Bertault had the audience eating out of her hand, she finishes, and we suddenly collapse the tempo and dynamics...jazz loses more opportunities to win over an audience than any performance art in the world.

Verrrry gooood drummer !!!
That young drummer Wouter Kunhe is so laid back and yet his accents could not be more on que. Would love to seem more of his work.
Exceptional, but he needed more crash cymbals on the accents. I was starving for more crash!
Not for me I played the kit years ago and I always worked with the leader to give him what he wanted and if that was rim shots or more crash so be it but if not I think this young lad was just right.

Wow.....that's some orchestra
Camille Bertault , You are from. A Different Planet.
Take a bow.
God Bless and Stay Healthy.
Great arrangement, great performers, beautiful. And I love Bertaulds "rap-singer"-like body language :-)
Wow!!!! vocalising to Coltrane's actual sax solo ...much respect ❤❤❤
There's also Miekes Voice here on TH-cam. She scatted the entire solo from Coltrane's original recording. Check it out!
Very impressive! Incredible performance and band. the drummer sounds awesome.

MF****The Vocals are just out of this World!!!!!
wonderful !!
Está bien buena la cantante
I'm not seeing enough comments about how Camille Bertault just effortlessly scatted Coltrane's entire solo. AMAZING.
This is not even scatting: she actually sings the lyrics she wrote on this melody.
@@thbb1 The new Eddie Jefferson. :-)
The Drummer is really swingin´

Whats the lyrics for this piece? i can’t find them anywhere!
That's the Coltrane solo note for note--Jon Hendricks would be proud
Extremely talented jazz band! *I appreciated the subtle audacity of the drummer at th-cam.com/video/axLVyesPh9c/w-d-xo.html .
Hi Peter! Did you write this arrangement?

Avec Camille Bertault - heureusement
Avec Suzan Veneman - heureusement
The young drummer looks like Erling Halaand on certain angle.... Great performance overall
hard work on piano.
I guess the only black person in the room is the name of the composer on their charts (if it is !)...
