Well in defense of trance music, the first two minutes are a "intro" that is supposed to be layered over another song. DJs use that first one-two minutes to mix the track out of the last one that's playing, so that's why it picks up like it does around the 2 minute part. This song technically begins at 2:13 when the beat drops out and you just have the synth.

Chicane is perfect. That can not be said to youtube audio quality. Crushing those high frequencies, that is something awful
