Why not? If the person is friendly, they'll say yes, and you'll have a cute thing to talk about later. And if they're not friendly, well then you didn't upset anybody that was actually your friend in the first place.
So there's no problem with the question. The only problem is that you're afraid of the disappointment if they say no.

Fun fact: As I was watching this, I thought Pete was familiar to me, but I couldn't remember where. About mid-way through the interview, I remembered: Pete was one of the actors who played Batman in College Humor's "Badman" series (of course, this was years ago, back when CH was actually funny).
I live in England and he’s unheard of here, which is a massive shame. I think he’s hilarious. Also, the older he gets, the more he looks like Jeff Bridges 😄

I fucking love Pete Holmes, he's wholesomely hilarious which is difficult to be.
6:41 You and I are mystically minded. And I sort of I think everybody can relate whether you’re religious or spiritual or not. Its like a fool’s game, this thing we are stuck in. I was recently eating ice cream on a beach. I was like ugh I was having this nice moment: I’m eating ice cream. I’m on the beach. But it’s fleeting. This is something about ourselves. It is fleeting. You eat the ice cream, then it’s gone. Then you want water. Then you have to use the bathroom. Then you eat dinner. Then you’re bored. Then you watch tv. And then you’re tired. And then you go to sleep. Then you go to shower. Then you need breakfast. Its like feeding an animal. It’s never ending. And Happiness is so momentary and fleeting. So I wrote this book to kinda tell it’s like a spiritual memoir about the journey that I learned through joy and the only piece that I’ve experienced is in learning to identify with your soul, or which Christians would call it, your spirit.
Pete Holmes is underrated
As a parent I can vouch for the "watching dark shows now". Or get used to staying up later just to catch up on shows XD.

My experience having had 3 kids, FWIW: You can totally still go out (at least to restaurants) for at least as long as the kid can be confined in baby carrier (like those detachable car seats that are so awesome to have). In fact, the noise and commotion of being out at a restaurant will probably be more soothing to the baby than you think.
