Starting out is always the most overwhelming part. Lean as much as you can on other people and their resources!

    Hi Kala,
Love your videos. What tips do you have for purchasing a play/ musicals? I teach at a small school and our budget is modest. My students have huge aspirations, wanting to perform well-known plays/musicals, but our students body is small.

TY so much, Hollie! If you want to do well known musicals, but want to start off small, go to MTI Shows and look at the jr and kids versions of the big names. There’s no shame in doing those. I did them when I was at two smaller schools in the past and it’s still a great experience. I could do a whole video on fundraising ideas that have worked for me too if you’re interested! I honestly have been wanting to make a video about the different publishing companies I use too.

I’m teaching theater to high school and am an English major. Could you assist me with a place for resources regarding technical theater? I.e. theater safety etc

@@desinicole6947 I’ve got a few tech theatre videos on my channel. A great website is schooltheatre.org there’s a theatre blog on there where people share resources, you may have to sign up to be a member. I’m a member of it because I run a thespian troupe but I think theatre teachers may join without a troupe, not sure. There’s a guy on here I follow too who does tech tutorials.
