If AC ever goes to japan, it is a *_must_* that it should be set during the sengoku jidai period first. Nobunaga's rise & fall, the rise of the one-eyed dragon, Hideyoshi's attempt at unifying japan, and many more interesting events. The edo period is very interesting, however, I feel the sengoku jidai period would better since it's what started it all.
Would love a Japan AC with a bigger focus on social stealth - which would work great with the dialogue system, having to choose the right thing to say to maintain your cover, following tradition to blend in etc
THIS game could be very possible. I don't know if they will do another Desmond ancestor, but in Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag, we got a result of all of Desmond's ancestors and 14th-century Shogunate at Japan was in the list in his maternal line. Feudal era for Japan started in 1185 and ended in 1603. Possible this game would happen but it will hype me a lot :).
They should consider making an Asian trilogy of AC, there are plenty of histories and small regions they can choose from China and Japan, also sea battles are available as well there

Im actually interested in seeing historical characters in Sengoku AC and how they portray them i wonder if we get to play during the rule of Either of the 3 Oda, Toyotomi or Tokugawa but it's most likely The Tokugawa shogunate period since that's the period where Ninjas, Samurai's, Onmyoji's, Yokai's and all that good stuff started and more known and we get to see Edo (Modern Tokyo) as the base of operations of my boi Ieyasu i would like it more if it would be during the battle for power between the Ishida and Tokugawa clans since i wanna see some good historical battles and shit and that's where my boi Hattori Hanzo comes in since it's most likely the Ninja clans is a faction states of the Assassin Order and of all the clan i would want to be that would be the Iga clan since my boi hattori hanzo is there

Assassin's Creed Chronicles was good but Ubisoft has to suck it up to "2.5 D" side game. I highly doubt that they would ever make an Asian(Japanese/Korean/Saudi/Persian/mongolian/indusvalley etc.,) based AC game without fucking it up
Well, the Persian one didn't age well; Mirage is set in 9th Century Baghdad, which was right around modern day Iraq, and it was pretty good for the most part.
Tbh... If ubi plays their cards right... They could have two playable characters in a feudal japan setting... Have a Samurai be a Templar and a Ninja be an Assassin. Could be an interesting game getting both sides in one package.
There's a storyline in Ghost of Tsushima that screams Assassin's Creed. Clan Adachi is wiped out by a mysterious group. Every member of the clan, man woman, and child, is murdered. The last remaining survivor is the matriarch of the clan, Lady Masako. A priest named Sogen is linked to the conspiracy. When confronted, he says, "Our world has changed. Men of vision must rise to change it. And those in the way... must be removed." Lady Masako kills his in a fit of rage. A strange clan symbol not seen before by Jin, the protagonist, or Lady Masako is found within the hideout used by members of the conspiracy. This clearly parallels Ezio's family being murdered. His father, older brother, and even his ill, younger, child brother are hung on false charges trumped up by the Gonfaloniere, Uberto Alberti, a member of the Templar Order. I haven't seen any of the other missions of Lady Masako's storyline. But the first two, they gave me Assassin's Creed vibes. They sent me here.
Actual ninjas in history aren't as impressive as they are portrayed in media, so they wouldn't really make for assassins. But, they could have a samurai become an assassin, or even a ronin become an assassin.

Dont worry, guys.. AC will go japan eventually. So many contents and era to explore in that period. And maybe the developers will include an easteregg of sorts about a legendary assassin with a scar on his left cheek who goes by the name Hitokiri Battousai.

AC Japan my suggested story: Set during the Sengoku period, the protagonist is a normal farmer peasant and a servant of a samurai clan. He/She and his/her family are living a simple life until their village was attacked by an evil smuggler and his army of ronin that causes the death of his/her family. Swearing revenge and bringing justice to those who cannot defend themselves, he/she met a European missionary in disguise who is a member of Assassins who will later teach the protagonist the way of the assassin. Upon hunting the people responsible for the attack in his/her village, the protagonist will soon discover that an upper class is behind the attack, a rival clan who seeks to destroy the clan the protagonists serves, as well as to overthrow the current shogun to conquer the whole Japan.
I'm hoping they hired you. Been listening to this song for over half a decade and it is my favorite concept for a game that is now coming to life, thank you
It’s very weird how there’s multiple assassins creed games and not one of them actually has you being a ninja seeing how there main job is to be sneaky especially when you get to play as a pirate which a pirate ship isn’t the most quietest way of getting around

ooo here is an interesting idea . they can make Nobunaga aka the demon king as a master Templar . and that time is when assassins and Templars are working together for the countery but hell breaks lose and load of stuff happens
they could do the whole asassins killed nobunaga during the night where he was killed by his loyal vassal and that vassal could have been an assassins disguised as a Templar waiting to kill nobunaga and you could be there to help the vassal finish him off also nobunaga was a very influential man and conquered the world very quickly so they can have the game where he has a piece of eden that got him to be that influential and powerful and that's why the assassins would want him. there Is the story right there

Superb work. Hearing the idea of this setting realized as a rearranged theme was so exciting and satisfying. I feel like the Assassin's Creed theme typically has bit more energy or grandeur, but perhaps the contained feeling of your version just matches the poetic nature of this setting. In any case - the production quality in both sound and visuals here is excellent. Would love to hear more.
It would be nice to have an AC Japan but I feel like it will be too much like Ghost of Tsushima now because of all the mechanics. Also finding an original story that can fit with AC but be different from Ghost will be hard I think.
Assassins....I can imagine ninja assassins quietly jumping from rooftops, passing through a calm river....and synchronizing on top of the cherry blossoms of mount Fuji.
In all honesty guys, I think saving Japan as a setting for the future might be a wise choice. It gives them time to experiment with all the current ones, and figure out what elements really work. Even if it comes out in 5 or 10 years, just imagine how good it will look and play. Don't rush this one.

There's an easter egg in AC IV, called the Assassin's Creed: Rising Sun and potential time period set in the Ashikage Shogunate Era

or helping the Ishida who also had the Sanada with their better quest of having a good land . damn too many good potintials are there for it
and some side quests involving the underpowered Uesugi who was a Legend , fighting beside the Takeda to glory

Superb work. Hearing the idea of this setting realized as a rearranged theme was so exciting and satisfying. I feel like the Assassin's Creed theme typically has bit more energy or grandeur, but perhaps the contained feeling of your version just matches the poetic nature of this setting. In any case - the production quality in both sound and visuals here is excellent. Would love to hear more.

It would be nice to have an AC Japan but I feel like it will be too much like Ghost of Tsushima now because of all the mechanics. Also finding an original story that can fit with AC but be different from Ghost will be hard I think.
Assassins....I can imagine ninja assassins quietly jumping from rooftops, passing through a calm river....and synchronizing on top of the cherry blossoms of mount Fuji.

In all honesty guys, I think saving Japan as a setting for the future might be a wise choice. It gives them time to experiment with all the current ones, and figure out what elements really work. Even if it comes out in 5 or 10 years, just imagine how good it will look and play. Don't rush this one.
Josh Bortolotti So true. I’d like there to be a mixture of both the newer RPG game mechanics and the older precision based gameplay in the newer titles after the Ancient era.
