She was my old boat. I spent many hours during the middle of the night in that helmsmans chair trying to stay alert and on course. Good times on Sad Rock in the FNQ Navy 🍺

One of the prettiest FAC I know about. Always hoped to win the lottery so I could buy one when they were decomissioned! Great to see you have saved a few!!!! A "COOL little ship.

These volunteers at our Maritime Museum have done a magnificent job and present the ship in a very interesting and informative manner, as you can see in the video. This project is a credit to them. Shane Rutherford LS MTP3, HMAS Gladstone 1987.

Correction there were 4 senior sailors 3 petty officer and 1 CPO who was the Charge Engineer. Gladstone was the last ship I served on and I actually paid off on her. She certainly looks well loved and is really great to see . Last time I seen Townsville she was looking very unloved. There are actually 3 left the Fremantle is in Sydney at Darling harbour. Cheers

Awesome Guy's, I had the joy of serving on both Warrnambool and Bendigo in the early 90s.. nice to see a survivor with the marlin.

Enjoyed the vid. I served on HMAS Gawler, FCPB 212. Some of the best years of my life. I knew the crew of Gladstone, every boat had it's nickname, Gladstone's was Sad Rock. Next time I visit my home town of Bundaberg, I might have to do a day trip up to Gladstone and have a look.

Very interesting and I would like to know more as I have a built 1.1 Mtr. radio control model of Geraldton that I sail on a lake in Maidstone, Kent, UK. Did not realise it had been preserved until today. Carry on the great work.
