A carry on bag with a trolley sleeve. It makes walking with a suitcase and personal item SO much easier. Noise cancelling headphones. Great for music but also loud airplane noises. A cashmere wrap. Works great as a mini blanket on the flight and can be used if nights are chilly during the trip. Contact cases. Love using these to decant my skincare/makeup into. Saves me so much space for other liquids in my bag that I can't decant like aerosols.
Great ideas. I like to pack a night light for the hotel bathroom. Many times, the light switch is the same as the fan, and they can be SO LOUD! We leave the bathroom door cracked, so when we have to go, the gentle light helps us find the bathroom AND we don't need the noisy fan on to wake the other one👍🏻☺️
Katalin Gerstenberger This is a game changer for me because I feel like every hotel room I can never find the bathroom in the dark. Thanks for this tip!
Lately I traveled to Europe and for I don’t know what reason, I took with me a sewing kit. I précise that I am not in the sewing business, I just thought that if I had to re-sew a button or a hem, it would be handy: best idea ever! I think that everyday I had something to repair. My stepfather was laughing at me and said that I was crazy to come with my mini sewing kit, the fact is that usually it’s not my style, but now I think that I will take it with me every time. I was so grateful to have it with me and fix all the little problems on my clothes.
One of my favorite travel things is a white noise app on my phone. At home I tend to sleep with a fan or air cleaner on and so in a hotel I need a similar noise that isn't the AC/Heater because those come on and off all night. It has been a game changer when I travel for work.
I have the same Patagonia jacket as you and am wearing it while watching this video. I had to pause the video and find the stuff pocket! It worked and I had no idea it was a part of the jacket. Thank you :)
how warm is this jacket? im interested in one but i am the kind of person who is always cold, so its like triple when im anywhere thats actually cold.would this work?
Love this video. I found a Calvin Klein puffy coat at Goodwill here in Seattle that packs down that way and I love it. I also have a pair of Columbia hiking pants - I've legitimately owned them for two years - and only just realized they also pack into their own pocket! I was so excited to discover this, haha.
It's funny isn't it, how you can feel like you actually know a person you never met but follow for literally years on TH-cam! I loooove that Allison is still her own person on online. I'm not a TH-camr but I can totally see that when you have a ton of subscribers you can do so much and colab with so many brands, but Allison chooses not to do that and that I kinda in powering to me! She's true to what she believes in. So if you ever read this, keep it up girl! Lots of love from an OG subbie from Haarlem the Netherlands❤️
Extra tip for travellers concerning puff jackets. I live in Iceland and I needed a really light one for hiking: bought one online that folds up into one of those comfy pillows that you place around your neck on the plane. Game changer! Useful, plus it doesnt take up extra space on your suitcase :) x
I had never used a eye mask before until my flight back to Canada from Amsterdam. They had a free goody bag they passed out and it had the mask in it. I LOVE it!! It's so nice to use. I also like it because no-one can see your whole face when your passed out in the seats too! I always feel so self conscious sleeping on planes cause I hate people seeing me sleep!
I love the Caudalie serum! I remember distinctly a few friends of mine commenting on how good my skin looked and they asked what I had been doing and I said not eating well, not washing my face and not drinking water 😂 I completely forgot that I had been using this product but it made such a difference, especially on my dark spots.
Oh gosh, I totally see what you mean about the powder sunscreen. When you first showed it, I actually thought, "What would you use that for?" But actually, that seems SO useful for travel! And you don't have to worry about carrying a liquid around with you. My travel essential right now are pants I got at Eddie Bauer last year. They're ponte material, with no zips or buttons. They look like a trouser, especially when cuffed, but feel like leggings. They make me feel put together but also completely comfortable on long haul flights.
That clean/dirty cube is genius! I used to have a travel bag that had a built in section on the bottom for dirty stuff and I loved it. Now I have been using just a plastic grocery bag. I might have to invest in one of these! I love a powder sunscreen to touch up in Summer or to slap on if I need to spend some time outside, it’s great over makeup.
Love the clean/dirty bag!! My family of 5 is road tripping this summer and we will wear the clothes multiple times, but not undies and socks! Brilliant!!! 💛
oh man, I just got back from 12 days in Iceland and that clean/dirty packing cube would have been perfect for that trip! thanks for letting us know about it!
Can you do a video on how you plan your outfits for travel? I want to travel with strictly carry on, but it's overwhelming trying to decide what to bring.
don't have the packing cube you recommend, but have DIY version in that pack a ziplock bag in packing cube with undies and socks and put the dirtys in there inside cube to separate them. works as well and is cheap. Also love the compression packing cubes. for outdoor adventure type trips take hiking pants that zip off to shorts so are multipurpose.
Love your travel themed vids especially - thanks for the tips! And omg, totally agree with you about the serum. I finally sprung for it about two weeks ago and it is a miracle worker lol
I always take earplugs with me. They are great to block out airplane sounds so I can sleep on long flights. Once I get to my destination, they block out the loud fan from the air conditioner, the sounds of people talking while walking up and down the halls of the hotel, the outside traffic noise, sirens, horns honking, audible sex in the room next door, oh and of course your husband’s snoring!
Can't wait to pick up a clean/dirty packing cube, I bought packing cubes a year or so ago after you recommended them in a video and I'm not sure how I ever traveled without them. I live on a sailboat so love them for my normal clothing on the boat and also when backpacking, having a clean/dirty one will be a great addition. Can you do a video on budget friendly travel tips. My travel essential is a merino wool buff. Great headband for hair or ear cover or neck wrap, lightweight but warm so great for cool climates but is moisture wicking and odor resistant so I've also used it for hikes on a hot day and hot yoga. Trust me, you need one.
I have a Caudalié face mist and it's magic hahah the first time I applied it my skin looked better than after a facial. One of my favorite travel essentials is dry shampoo but the powder version lush has one that it's great. Also an empty water bottle : )
Great video! I am trying to find something warm like the Patagonia jacket. I do not use Down because of the cruelty to the animals. Their feathers are violently ripped out everytime the feathers grow out and the animals sometimes even have a heart attack due to the stress.
Definitely Eagle Creek pack-it cubes are a game changer. Don’t know how I packed before them. Also, I have a family of 4, so I recently purchased a traveling laundry bag to help with the clean/dirty situation. If it was just me, I would definitely do that clean/dirty packing cube.
I don’t know if you know this but you shouldn’t store the down jacket in the pouch long term as it can damage the down insulation. For packing it’s fine, but let them breathe at home :)
Love your essentials recommendations, and this was so handy! I'm getting ready to go on a two week trip to Switzerland, so I'm narrowing my packing list. What shoes do you recommend for long walks/excursions, but not necessarily for hiking? The weather may be rainy, so I'm still deciding!
Mina K Definitely take a good pair of supportive runners/sneakers! I have a pair of Nike's that give me good arch support and I could walk all day in them.
I love Nike running shoes but if you want something to go with a nice dress or romper then Chacos are the way to go. I live in my Chacos on the summer!
I am a new mom and love wearing makeup. However I will be headed back to work soon and short on time. Do you recommend any palettes that have eyes, cheeks, bronzer, and powder?
The jacket in the color Elwha blue is $137 on sale .Which is a much better price . I always travel with a shawl( make it into a pillow/ use it as a blanket / beach cover up etc )
I'm definitely going to need to try that sunscreen! My biggest problem is that I sweat off my sunscreen so quickly in the heat, and then just reapplying over sweaty skin never seems to work 😂

I’m head-over-heels in love with Eagle Creek packing cubes!
Love that you get straight to the point, no long boring introduction! Thank you! Helpful information...
Allison please do a video about you packed for Iceland! As well as a tips and cost video!
Gabs Bissessar Yes!!! I would love to see this as well.
You have the most trustworthy essentials! Thanks for another great video!
That packing cube is pretty genius. I'd definitely see myself using that

JUST discovered Allison's channel and she is such a gem. She inspired my most recent video!
I love that jacket. It's perfect for going from a warmer climate to a cooler one.

Got one of clean/dirty cubes for my hubby…such a great idea. He puts his undergarments in it..

The memory foam side sleeper. It's a great pillow for car or airplane.
Sold on Amazon by lifeology. They have it listed as a travel pillow.
Please make a video of what and how you packed for your Iceland trip.

Trainers/sneakers - preferably for trail running, with goretex. They'll be as supportive as hiking boots, but much lighter/smaller, and waterproof! 👍
I love Nike running shoes but if you want something to go with a nice dress or romper then Chacos are the way to go. I live in my Chacos on the summer!

K, if you’re going to become somewhat of a travel blogger... I am so... IN! Great video.
Love these videos!!
You make me buy an eagle creek bag 😉 thanks for sharing. It will be more convenient than my plastic trash bag 😂
The jacket in the color Elwha blue is $137 on sale .Which is a much better price .
I always travel with a shawl( make it into a pillow/ use it as a blanket / beach cover up etc )
i do the same with a blanket scarf, so handy!
Please do a closet tour :)
hello! what size is your patagonia down sweater jacket? thank you!
I'm definitely going to need to try that sunscreen! My biggest problem is that I sweat off my sunscreen so quickly in the heat, and then just reapplying over sweaty skin never seems to work 😂
I just checked and they only ship within the US 😰
I don’t really like mineral powder but thanks for telling me how good it is for traveling :D
Clicked on links for the clean dirty packing cube and said page not found
Is patagonia down sweter jacket also available for men......???????
enjoyed it!
Be strong be happy ❣️❣️ Mashallah
what size did you get in the jacket?! I want it and I'm about the same size!
What size did you choose in the jacket and was layering kept in mind for the size you chose? Thanks!
I wouldn't be able to re-fold that jacket
انا اثق بك
I thought your sunscreen needed to be applied and re-applied directly onto your skin... 😕
Collapsible water bottle
Did she break up with her boyfriend? Is that why she is traveling solo now? She is super brave to do so! I would be worried but I am a worry wart:)
Caitlin Holladay You can travel solo while still being in a relationship. 😋😋😋
