As a sett main, itemizing on him is pretty straightforward. If you are going the bruiser route, stride breaker is always the first thing you should get as it helps with baiting out flashes as well as gap closing since sett has 0 dashes. BoRK is good and all,, but it should almost never be your first item.
Honestly I feel like BORK is only ever good first item just due to how setts laning phase works. Mid game is when he starts teamfighting and that's when it starts to be a bit troll to build blade when your main goal is to ult into the backline, wreak havoc and try and get away.
That sett outplay bot lane where he auto, q, auto auto, ignite auto e w into R to dodge charm stride auto the ahri and finish. Mind-blowing how he sees the strategy or small window before the moment happens. Like high-level predictive chess but 3D animated.

You really just can't. Sett into irelia is super rough for her until she get's blade, so you will just be down exp. You do scale better than him in a 1v1 unless he builds BoRK HB though his teamfight is better.

just for fun played a flex 5 game with some friends. I haven't played flex pretty much since it came out. First game enemy team is full of plats and emeralds. I win top, contribute well throughout the game and get 3rd from the opgg and whatsits site. It starts me at B4. Second game much the same story barely hit b3. 3rd, diamonds and emeralds. only manage 4th in game and another 28 minute win. All games A+ or higher. Painful being constantly matched against opponents 3 or 4 full divisions higher, winning and being given nothing to show for it. My team were all plats except me unranked to start. They really need to place these things based off the game difficulty, nothing else.
What rank is game 1 in? Your team were insane(ly bad) EDIT: Also in game 2 you got the red share because at least 2 drags were taken in that game, allowing buff sharing, not because of time on the clock

somehow stridebreaker works on sett like on irelia bork , it completly enables you to do sick outplays and stay on enemy , i also now tried second item warmogs second and must say it gives better dmg boost to w than stridebreaker into hullbreaker/steraks
Hey can anyone explain why some pros/players have been running absorb life over triumph? I see how absorb life can give you more sustain vs poke champs or matchups where you can't play the game but I have seen players run it over triumph even in meele matchups such as garen darius ect. Do they do it just so they have a constant heal sustain or am i missing something else?
You are correct. The thing with Darius is that your passive naturally counters his bleed in extended fights, and since its a skill matchup lane where the first to die can never get back, absorb life helps you outsustain him after a trade. To be fair, Sett has already many ways to win both short and extended trades but the moment you slip up you are dead, so every advantage matters.

The safer matchups make garen comfortable to play into almost all matchups. Garen can take a stupid trade, walk away come back 75% healed. His built in warmogs is his appeal as a laner. Sett duels, sett abuses and goes for the kill to force opponents off lane meaning he has to contest with other duelers like Fiora, Darius, Morde etc etc. safer to say if you arent a good sett player its easy to lose lane. But if ur a bad garen you can still save your own lane

As another sett main, I agree with you, but on some matchups bork is just way better first item, but stride is a MUST
