I'm John Ruth is my wife. I'm a trained lumber grader. I like the sawmill videos but skipped over the shop videos. But what I found out is that the shop videos are equally and sometimes more interesting to watch.

Mark, I had a very dear friend who was a member of SASS "Single Action Shooters Society"
He was buried in a casket like this only it was Black Walnut with a Curly Maple Lid. He built the casket himself 5 years before his death. I miss you Frank Looney....

Well, it might just be a Halloween coffin to you but it is almost perfect for me to be planted in. I've been on the look out for how to make your own coffin and I found your videos pt1 &2 and you have made things so much clearer for me. Shame I don't have the luxury of having your tools but I'm definitely going to use your videos as a guide to build mine.
I'll be making mine out of hardwood veneered ply wood to make things easier for me though. I'm looking forward to it and some times when life throws you lemons make margaritas
    Thank you

I’m thinking about using Red Cedar & Blue Spruce, it’ll be the only 1 ever made, especially since it’s for my own funeral.

I don't need a coffin but that's some fine cabinetry.

Love the channel! There’s something really satisfying about watching the sawmill, and the transformation of boards from a big ol log!
I like the occasional project or tour as well.
Where’d that big sign that has the beaver with the hammer come from come? It’s pretty cool.

Great job on the coffin. What a perfect project for the time of month/year! I also couldn't help to notice the vintage holiday lights hanging from the ceiling. Maybe your next project can be a Santa and Reindeer made from roughcut pine? Turn the lights on for inspiration. :)
