The technology helping Bangkok face its water crisis

With severe droughts and rising sea levels, the Thai capital is facing serious shortages of freshwater - in a city that consumes more than five million cubic meters of it every day. Now authorities are fighting back, with a raft of advanced technology including flowmeters to detect leaks in the piping network, and motors and drives to increase efficiency in the city's pumping stations and water treatment centers. It could mark a new way forward for a problem affecting increasing numbers of modern metropolises.
