Saw the Gitfire at a show last year, they made a nice job of it! They were asking a lot more than £5k then, around 12 IIRC.I built one myself back in the 80s with a 1500 Spit tub on a MKII GT6 rotoflex chassis.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Shadow bodies were mass built by Pressed Steel/Fisher, the first Roller NOT to be hand made! One tip, Shadow rear pads are £100 a set from dealers, but the same as MKIV Cortina front pads @ circa £15!

A good tip there Stephen! I've got an itching for an old rolls Royce 🫣

Some good choices there Jimmy. The Roller would be a big gamble but great fun. The one piece of advice I never forgot when talking to a classic Rolls dealer was "use them or they'll cost you."
I look forward to the videos of your Rolls Royce purchase :)

Steve, you are absolutely correct there, it is a bit of a gamble, but surely worth a punt at this price? Also, I think even buying a higher mileage one that has been used is a better option than one been standing for ten years. I think Wedding cars are not necessarily a bad option? Ive got my eye on one for the channel, I think it would make a really interesting series using one as a daily driver!

@@jimmyscarclub Definitely worth a go mate. Mileage has never really bothered me and yes, a well used car is usually the reliable one. I’ll keep an eye open for the new project. I look forward to it 👍🏻

For under £5000 there are some great cars from Alfa Romeo, BMW, Audi , Mercedes, Saab and Jaguar. Buy at the bottom of the depreciation curve and some of these can be found for under £1000. There’s a choice of saloons, coupes and convertible. Parts are available from the main dealers or most scrap yards. There are quite a few available from the original owners with lowish mileages. All the ones I’ve mentioned I’ve actually bought over the last 15 years, none over £1000. Spend a little on them and you have brilliant every day cars.

Great call! Decent ones don't come up that often, but you can't go wrong with a Turbo 4x4 😍. To be featured 🔜
