  • We head off road in the 4WD Ford Everest, Toyota Landcruiser 200, Toyota Prado, Land Rover Perentie Defender, and Isuzu MUX take on Ourimbah State Forest in May 2020. Conditions were a little slippery early in the day after recent rain.
    Ourimbah State Forest is near Sydney, NSW and close to the Watagans. What it lacks in views and camping areas, it makes up for in a diversity of tracks ideal for testing vehicles and building skills.
    If you're an Everest fan remember to like and subscribe for more sightings in its natural habitat

    As expected, TLC200 has the smoothest attempts of them all! 👍😊
    Followed by it's little brother, the Prado 👍
    I have high respects for the Everest; it was the newbie of them all yet it did not disappoint! 😁
    The MUX, well... To me, that was a no-brainer... Isuzu? C'mon, seriously? 😅
    The Defender was the grandfather of them all... It was the older model so to me, it had no match to the TLC200.

    Cool video with a nice array of vehicles. Awesome to see someone on their Ls getting a good drive in! Top work! Would be cool to see that Perentie with twin lockers. Speaking of which, does the Everest have the rear locker or just relying on TC?

    Love seeing what the Everest can do! We're just weighing up the Everest/Prado and I'm wondering what suspension mods your everest and the prado in the video have?

    • @braydenhowie
      @braydenhowie  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both are on 2 inches, but I’m not sure the details on the Prado. The Everest is Fox 2.0 front and Tough Dog rear

    • @mic7946
      @mic7946 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! what's the reason for different brands front and rear? And at risk of too many questions... what size tyres have you fit?

    • @braydenhowie
      @braydenhowie  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      These tyres are 275/70/17. Can go to 285/70/17 and still fit the spare underneath. Reason for different brands is simply because the Fox wouldn’t fit in the rear. But the guy who did mine has since come up with a solution for the rear

      @@braydenhowie Whats the brand of tyre? ATs? Whatever they are can you give us your thoughts? Would you buy them again, noise etc? Keen to put some good ones on mine. The Everest has a noise cancelling feature in the cab but I dont know how to turn it off and back on and so dont know how much good it actually does. Thanks for the help.

    That MUX looked like it had stock tyres and BTC didn’t seem to be set to kick in and stop that spinning tyre, would be good to see how it would go with a comparable lift and tyres like the others

    • @braydenhowie
      @braydenhowie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I thought he had ATs, but I don't recall. Certainly BTC systems are not created equal - the Prado's was better off road than the Everest which was better than the MUX from what I've observed

    brother, what spec tyres you running on your Everest.... i want to upgrade mine, need advice....

    • @braydenhowie
      @braydenhowie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Mine are BFG KO2 275/70/17. You can go up to 285/70/17 on a 2 inch lift with no issues and still fit the spare underneath. Larger and you'll likely need to start modifying things further.

    • @PopEye2384
      @PopEye2384 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@braydenhowie thanks bro.... i intend to keep it within 33inches.... so 285/70/17 is likely what i might go for.... also, apart from the suspension lift, did you change the control arms too?? if yes, then did you change both upper and lower control arms or only upper??

    • @braydenhowie
      @braydenhowie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nah no change yet to the control arms. The rear trailing arms need to be replaced though, so they will get an upgrade soon.

    A shame Isuzu only decided to put lockers in their new fourbys. The Mux struggled without one a rear locker makes all the difference in some cases sadly. Don't understand though cause in South Africa where I'm from the Dmaxs came with lockers since like 2001

    • @braydenhowie
      @braydenhowie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I agree, although the latest model does have one in the Aus model. Probably cost and market demand, but they are getting left behind by the competition - really just competing on price now in my opinion.

    Why do I see that the gas in the tires of all vehicles in the video is less than the specifications provided by the manufacturer?

    • @braydenhowie
      @braydenhowie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Manufacturer specs are for normal highway conditions and speeds. Various off road conditions require adjustment of tyre pressures for improved performance and durability

    • @braydenhowie
      @braydenhowie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe - it already holds it's own against the LC200. Frankly I'm happy to do without the extra weight of the V8 off road. I think a Diesel 6 would be the sweet spot.

    • @braydenhowie

      That's quite an opinion you've got yourself there... Toyota's make great 4WDs, but there's a lot I love about that landy too. I've had plenty of Toyota's in my time, but don't currently - they're great, but so are other makes...
